Chapter 62 - Killed

Soon, the situation returned to what it was before. Bast realized the difference in the situation and attempted to approach Zane to execute her beheading plan. However, she was repeatedly blocked by the selfless undead, who sacrificed their lives. After overcoming numerous obstacles, she finally reached Zane's side, only for Zane to teleport to the other end of the palace.

Bast was infuriated by Zane's shameful tactic of using a human sea. She had no choice but to start fully unleashing her firepower to eliminate these undead. Even though most of them were originally Wakandans, she showed no mercy. With her claws infused with divine power, she swiped, and large swathes of undead turned to ash. However, she was merely killing a drop in the ocean, as countless more undead rushed to fill their ranks.

Zane didn't stand idle either. Knowing that his other attacks would have little effect on Bast, he turned his gaze to T'Chaka and Shuri. He had seen Bast reluctantly protect them earlier, indicating some connection to the ancient oath she mentioned. Therefore, if they died, it would surely be disadvantageous to Bast. Realizing this, Zane decisively sent hundreds of undead towards T'Chaka and Shuri. Although they had similar protective barriers to Bast's, their strength was undoubtedly inferior, and their barriers couldn't be replenished like Bast's. Just like rootless water, hundreds of undead were enough to kill them.

Sharp-eyed Bast also saw Zane's intentions. She began to exert all her efforts to move towards T'Chaka and Shuri. However, what was previously fast became as slow as a snail's pace. Even when she jumped onto the wall, she was forced down by the lizardman undead already climbing it.

In the end, she could only watch helplessly as T'Chaka and Shuri's protective barriers were broken, and then they were torn apart by hundreds of undead. From then on, all members of the Wakandan royal family were wiped out, leaving none behind.

They were all absorbed into the soul space by Death Son, becoming Zane's war puppets. After all, the most important thing for a family is to be orderly, isn't it?

At the moment of T'Chaka and Shuri's deaths, the Black Panther Goddess Bast let out an unprecedented roar of anger:

"Invader, you've destroyed my foundation. I will take your soul to the land of the ancestors, where it will be gnawed on day and night until it is completely dispersed."

After speaking, Bast gathered most of her divine power and emitted a faint golden beam from her mouth towards the culprit, Zane.

Zane disdainfully sneered and muttered to himself, "Bast's intelligence is worrying. Despite knowing that I can teleport, she still uses such straightforward attacks, wasting her own strength."

With that in mind, Zane unhesitatingly teleported to another corner. However, to his surprise, the beam also followed him, still pointing towards Zane.

Zane tried to attack the beam with King's Treasury, but the weapons fired from the treasury were as ineffective as passing through an illusion. It was this way that the undead stood in front of him, and in an instant, dozens of undead were reduced to dust, yet the beam remained unharmed.

Helpless, Zane had no choice but to teleport repeatedly, but the beam followed closely behind him like a dogged pursuit.

"Nothing can save you now, my attack is locked onto your soul. Even if you escape to the ends of the earth, it's useless."

"Although I didn't know why you could resurrect before, I don't believe that you can still resurrect if I completely pulverize you. Everything ends now. You should be proud to enjoy the attack I've accumulated over hundreds of years of divine power."

Zane glanced at Bast and suddenly smiled faintly.

"I won't hide anymore. See you later!"

With that, Zane stopped his movements and allowed the beam of light to strike him, completely shattering his body and soul into pieces. In an instant, Zane's consciousness plunged into darkness.

Bast watched as Zane was completely submerged by the beam of light, weakly licking her paw.

"I lost big time. Hundreds of years of the power of faith gone just like that. It would have been enough with just a few decades. The family bound by the oath is also dead. Looks like I have to start supporting another one. What a hassle!" Goddess Bast thought gloomily.

However, what she didn't notice was that the undead attacking her still hadn't stopped, and [Son of Death]'s soul space continued to inexhaustibly supply undead to the world.

By the time she realized it, Zane had once again appeared before her unscathed.

"Little kitty, we meet again. That hurt quite a bit just now!" Zane's eyes stared at Bast as he spoke word by word.

Having been killed twice by the same enemy, even though the first time was just for fun, Zane now felt some anger. Although he wasn't afraid of death, dying did indeed hurt.

Meanwhile, Bast stared dumbfoundedly at Zane's resurrection. She even stopped her movements, still licking her paw, which looked somewhat cute.

As the Black Panther Goddess, Bast was not feeling good at all. She felt like the whole world was maliciously against her.

"I was clearly sleeping soundly, enjoying the power of faith every day, not bothering anyone. Why did someone suddenly come knocking at my door? And this person can't be killed no matter what. Mom, I want to go home." Bast cried out in her heart.

Zane didn't care about any of that. He increased the energy output to [Son of Death] and released more undead. The undead crowded upon each other, and from afar, it looked like a giant wave crashing towards Bast.

Bast, who had just expended a huge amount of energy, was instantly submerged in the tide of undead. Zane could only see her struggling amidst them through the gaps.

Half an hour later, the protective barrier was breached, and countless undead rushed onto Bast. Even if they were slapped dead in the next moment, they still wanted to grab a tuft of fur from Bast's body.

In no time, Bast's appearance was no longer as majestic and dignified as before. Her once glossy black fur was now missing patches here and there, making her look like a spotted dog, utterly bedraggled.

Finally, with a resentful howl from Bast, the goddess of Wakanda was torn to pieces by Zane's army of undead.
