Chapter 5 - Sir Dragonborne

Nothing crazy happened since my match with Ace. I spent a lot of time either training or studying. I wasn't entirely sure how to get my agility up, so I decided to go camping days at a time in hopes that would level me up. If anything, camping was such a good way to learn more about myself. I had to hunt, gut, and clean my own food. In order to do that, I had to be stronger than my prey, and in my free time, I could study using the books I brought with me.

The most concerning part was the character logs for multiple reasons. I read Ace's log first.

"Not only was he shocked that you turned over a new leaf, but you also beat him in battle. He was faced with mixed feelings including anger, shame, and determination. He also gained a newfound respect for you as a person. If you can change and grow, that means that he also could.

Warning: Possible outcomes:

Sworn Brother

Eternal Rival"

I hope it meant rival as in a friendly competition type of stuff. It would be alarming if he became a villain. If he planned on improving himself, maybe that would stop him from being a heartbreaker. Then this terrible game would start acting more like an RPG. I sighed as I pulled up Luna's info.

"Her heart skipped a beat when you said 'Why would I give Luna to someone.' She saw the whole conversation between the two of you and even your battle. At that moment, when you stood over Ace, she only had one thought. Smarus is the coolest man alive.

Warning: Most probable outcome:

Love obsessed"

Why did she even come to my manor? Why was Ace actually socially aware? I sighed as my world was slowly becoming more and more of a hassle. Thankfully, I can disappear for days at a time. I relaxed in my tent while I sipped fresh tea. It has been almost a month since I came to this world. Tomorrow was the day I could be awakened. I hadn't been home in almost a week, so I had to go back. I sighed again. After I gained my class, I will have to start preparing for the academy. Once I started the academy, it would be two years before the beginning of the game.

"Status."

Smarus Dragonborne

Age: 15

Strength: 2

Intelligence: 3

Agility:1.5

Charisma:2

Magic: 0.5

Class: N/A

Mana: 100/100

Skills: Odin's eye, character log, Spatial Inventory

The results of my training were better than I expected. I gained a whole point in strength and intelligence. It seemed like my agility went up, but not as much. I supposed camping can only do so much. I broke down camp and made my way home. Upon returning, I was greeted with an unwelcomed hug by Anne.

"Young Master! We were worried about you!"

She was probably the only one who cared. Her info was just as screwed up. My absence somehow amplified her abnormal desires which only meant that I wanted to stay away from home even more. This started as something I did on a whim, but it escalated quickly. I sighed.

"I was camping, Anne. Now, will you please let go of me?"

"Oh right…" She backed off and bowed. "I'm sorry Young Master." Her face was beat red.

"It's fine. Prepare the bath for me. I will be going to bed early tonight, so don't delay."

Anne nodded her head in understanding and hurried away. I walked by the kitchen to grab a snack, but I didn't see the head chef. May was often gone for about two hours in the evening, but then she would be in the kitchen helping the staff clean at night. At night and in the mornings, she looked sad and tired. It was alarming, but no one ever said anything. I even asked Anne, but she just changed the subject. Knowing I couldn't do anything, I decided to not pry… for now at least.

"Oh Young Master, hello! I heard Anne greeting you, so I prepared a snack for you," The second in command called to me.

His name was Albert, and he was May's younger brother. He was one of a few people who was always nice to me, er well the villain before I came here. He's like an older brother. He even taught me a few recipes when I started going camping.

"Evenlyn, go and hand the Young Master the plate."

"Yes, father."

A girl about my age came to me with a plate that had garlic bread and fruit. She looked a bit timid but nice… But I knew all too well not to judge a book by their cover.

"Thank you, Albert, and Evelyn. You are appreciated," I gladly took the plate.

Albert smiled while Evenlyn simply blushed. I never met Evenlyn, but Albert talked about her often. Mostly to the other chefs. I decided to read her stats.

Evelyn

Age: 16

Strength: 0.5

Intelligence: 1

Agility: 2

Charisma:3

Magic: 0

Class: Chef

Mana: 000/000

Well, she was a commoner and a servant, so her stats didn't surprise me, but her agility was higher than mine. It rubbed me the wrong way. I thanked them again for the snack and went to my room to eat it. Afterwards, I bathed and went to bed.

As usual, I woke up when the Sun rose. The Awakening wasn't until noon, so I had a few hours to kill, or at least I had hoped. A knock was heard at my door.

"Come in."

Anne opened the door and bowed her head.

"Good morning, Young Master," Anne was clearly shaken by something. "Sir Dragonborne said he wished to speak with you this morning. He will eat breakfast with you."

That deadbeat. This would have been the first time I had spoken to him since coming to this world. Regardless, I knew I didn't have the right to refuse.

"I see. I will see him at breakfast then," I nodded my head.

Anne nodded her head and left my room, closing the door behind her. I sighed. Of course, my father wanted to speak on the day I planned to be awakened. I changed into a nice black suit before heading to the dining hall.

I saw my father sitting at the head of the table with the head chef, May, standing next to him. As usual, she looked sad. My father, on the other hand, had a stern, angered look, and it only worsened when I was in his sight. He was a serious man.

Unfortunately, the game never provided much information on Sir Dragonborne. All I knew was that he hated his son since his wife died giving birth, and he was the head of the Dragonborne clan. He had a good rep, but clearly, that was just a facade. Everything else I knew I gained from the memories of this body. One important feature was that he was dead at the start of the game. His death led to a power struggle in the clan that the villain eventually usurped. There was a lot of speculation around his death, but no solid evidence.

"Good morning Father," I sat to his left since the seat to his right belonged to my mother.

"I don't plan on making this a long conversation," He glared at me. He spoke in a low, cold tone.

"Of course, Father. Then I'll skip the fluff of the conversation. What do you want?" I said just as coldly.

Despite my rude demeanor, this was how our conversations typically went. I began eating my food, without even waiting for him to start. He only got a plate out of formality. He wouldn't actually take the time to share a meal with me.

"Today is your awakening. Don't embarrass me."

Figured that was it.

"I can't control what class I get."

"I'm aware. It was a warning," He stared daggers at me. "Your cousins, Aurora and Myra, will be coming to see you awaken. That is all."

He stood up before I could even reply. I wasn't intimidated by him, but since he still was technically my father, I held some respect.

"May, come with me."

"Y-yes master."

May bowed before following my father. I tried to read his stats but a message popped up.

The target's level is too high to read.

Great. And what's up with May and my Father? Actually… it may be another reason why I can't do anything to help her yet. I sighed at my own uselessness. I forced myself to move on.

Aurora and Myra… There were two characters in the game that, of course, the hero had the option to bring them into his harem. Father called them my cousins, but we weren't blood-related. Like I said earlier, the Dragonborne name is actually a clan. My so-called cousins were actually another noble family that happened to be in the same clan. They were both my favorite characters.

With these two characters, there were three possible outcomes. One joined the hero, and the other joined the villain, which made up two of the outcomes, or both of them joined the hero. They are really competitive against each other, and that was apparent when they both fell for the hero. However, if the player could get them both to join, they had unique duo combos that dealt massive damage.

It was only the morning and I already had a lot on my mind. I sighed as I finished my meal. Anne came to take my plate.

"Young Master you look tense. Would you like me to help you.. Relax?" She had a blush on her face as she looked at me with puppy eyes.

I hate this woman. If I said yes, it would mean accepting her request. If I say no, she will still get a kick out of it.

"Yes actually. I need you to prepare my things. I plan to go camping again tomorrow."

Her face lit up, which was unsuspected.

"Yes, of course, Young Master!" She bowed and skipped away.

Ding! Anne's character log updated!

I'm ignoring that.
