Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: panic

Xavier, standing at the crossroads between loyalty to his family and the woman he loved, defended Queen with a passion born out of genuine affection. "Mom, Queen is not a slut. She works in one of our companies, recommended by me," he asserted, attempting to bridge the ever-widening gap between his mother's expectations and his own choices.

Madame Yates, unmoved by her son's defense, unleashed a torrent of harsh judgments. "Of course, she's a slut, and sluts are gold diggers. Stay away from my son, you good-for-nothing idiot. I don't want to ever see you anywhere around him anymore!" The venom in her words reverberated through the room.

"Mom, please!" Xavier pleaded, his palms raised in a gesture of desperation. The confrontation reached a crescendo as Madame Yates continued her verbal assault, questioning Queen's background and status.

"Tell me, who are your parents? What status do they have in society? None, right? So what makes you think I would allow my son, the most influential in the country, to be with a good-for-nothing slut like you?" Madame Yates's anger radiated as she sought to dismantle the foundations of the relationship.

"Mom, stop it already!" Xavier's yell resonated, a manifestation of his frustration and anguish. The confrontation reached its zenith, leaving Queen, tears streaming down her face, feeling utterly defeated and broken.

Unable to bear the weight of the humiliation, Queen decided to retreat. She ran up to her room, hastily packing her belongings. As she descended the staircase, Xavier intercepted her, pleading with desperation in his eyes. "Baby, please don't listen to her."

"I'm sorry, Xavier, but I have to go," Queen whispered, her voice laden with sorrow.

"Please don't go, I still need you!" Xavier pleaded, his voice trembling with emotion as he looked into Queen's eyes. The room seemed to close in around them, the weight of impending separation heavy in the air. He couldn't bear to see her tears; they mirrored the ache in his own heart. Xavier loved Queen deeply, and the thought of letting her go was tearing him apart.

Amidst the emotional turmoil, Madame Yate, Xavier's mother, couldn't resist seizing the opportunity to assert her dominance. "Oh yeah! Now you're doing the right thing, my darling," she sneered, her tone dripping with disdain. "Just leave and never return. I better not see you anywhere around my son."

Xavier's frustration boiled over, and he snapped at his mother, "Oh please, Mom! Stop it already! I've had enough of your drama this morning." His anger was palpable, but he pushed it aside, focusing on his desperate plea to Queen. "Baby, please listen to me. You know I love you so much, right?" He gently held her hands, looking deep into her eyes. "Despite my mom's threats, I'm willing to lose everything and stay with you. Just please don't listen to her. Stay with me, please!"

The room echoed with the intensity of emotions as Xavier's tears fell freely. He tightened his grip on Queen's hand, desperately hoping she would choose to stay despite the odds.

"It's been so good, Xavier," Queen said, her voice filled with a mixture of sadness and resignation. She shook her head, her tears flowing freely. "I must say I enjoyed every bit of this relationship. You're a very good man, but I can't keep living in pain and agony. So, please, my love, let me go. Perhaps you will find someone better who can give you the peace you deserve as a man and someone whom your mother would get to love."

Queen's words hung heavily in the air, each one a dagger piercing Xavier's heart. She wanted to fight for their love, but the weight of Madame Yate's disapproval and the fear of a losing battle overwhelmed her.

"No! no! no! you can't leave me like this my love! I love you!! and believe me I will do anything to keep us happy please just don't go"!! Xavier pleaded with tears in his eyes but Queen didn't want to listen and tried to force her way out and slipped through the stairs, vigorously hitting her head on the tiled floor and passed out immediately, Xavier heart skipped as panic spread through his whole body, Madame Yate said nothing but gap at her son as she starred at the weak figure on the floor unmoved. Xavier with fear in his heart rushed her to the hospital "Doctor! doctor"?! he yelled loudly and a stretcher was brought, he placed Queen on it and she was quickly taken to the VIP emergency ward with the doctors rushing in. After a while a nurse came out of the ward with a gloom look on her face "what is going on in there Karen? how's is my fiancee"? Xavier asked the nurse by name Karen

"I've got no time to explain sir but doctor Moses is working on her, excuse me please"?! Karen said trying to hide her facial expression with a slight smile on her face, she excused herself and walked out, a while later doctor Moses stepped out of the ward

"Come to my office Xavier" Moses said and Xavier walked behind him into his office without uttering a word
