Rosemary's POV:
"Ten years ago, Nathanael was fifteen, wasn't he? And this Ambrose kid was the same age as him, right?" just like me, Izzy is connecting the dots in her head as well.
"That's… right," Ava answers.
"Wha… What kind of insane rules do your people have? Sentencing a fifteen year old to death?"
I am not that much more familiar with their rules and laws, but Izzy is even less so. Nathanael had warned me about how draconian and uncanny those could be. I suppose having an example of how deranged they really are, is a different experience.
From the beginning, from the very first moment I'd laid eyes on Avery, I knew something wasn't right. In fact, I knew nothing about him was right. His attitude, the look in his eyes, his clothing style. Not to mention his speech patterns and mannerisms… None of it sat right with me. I guess the use of words such as master and servant also tipped me off…
