I march forward with one destination in mind, the guest room where me and Izzy are staying. But along the way there, I allow my thoughts to drag me down bottomless trenches. Blind and deaf to everything or everyone around me, only my legs remember how to take me places, regardless of the voices that grow louder in my head with every step I climb towards the second floor of this mansion.
"It's not that unbelievable, to be completely honest," Nathanael's voice comes from my left side to yank me back into reality.
"What?" I mutter the question, finally realizing I am not walking alone.
He pauses and looks at me, somewhat puzzled, seemingly uncertain how he should answer me. Probably unsure how to take it in the first place.
