"Izzy? Where are you going?" I call her name as she walks away from me.
Izzy doesn't stop, doesn't turn around, she doesn't even acknowledge my presence. I become aware of the expanding pit in my stomach, the feeling that every organ in me is sliding downwards, racing to the bottom, dragged by an invisible power I can but stand there and endure. It renders my legs completely useless.
"Izzy?" I call out once more, "Please!" I beg.
To no avail… She wanders farther and farther from my figure. I struggle to see her through my teary eyes as my vision grows blurrier and hazier. Only when I try to wipe my streaming tears do I realize that my arms are just as paralyzed as my legs. Stuck, rooted in my spot, I am forced to watch helplessly as Izzy marches down a straight path into the distance.
"Wait! Don't go! Don't leave me!" I scream through my cries.
