I kneel in front of the shaky figure of Avery, the rhythm of his pounding heart coursing stronger through my entire arm the instant my hand lay on his shoulder.
"Can you wait for us here?" I utter just as loud as I need to for him to hear me.
"Don't go in there, please," he slowly shakes his head from left to right.
I'd love to do nothing but turn around and leave this place behind myself. As a firm believer that some secrets are not meant to be unearthed, under different circumstances, we'd have already been out of here. However… Even if I drag Rosemary out of here, she'll still make her way back to this place without me, and it's not like locking her in a cotton padded box to keep her safe is even an option.
"It's alright. You can put your invisibility charm on and wait for us outside of this room, "I pause for a moment before more words come out, "In fact, I'd prefer if you didn't stay inside this room alone,"
