Rosemary's pov:
The clicking of the lock sounds so loud. Much louder than it usually does, reminding me that I am the only other soul in this apartment besides Izzy. I don't feel trapped per se, I feel heavy, burdened by what I am about to do, by what I have to do.
I walk as slowly as I possibly can towards Izzy's room, delaying the inevitable by as many seconds as I can win, knowing full well that no amount of time will ever be enough for me to be ready.
I finally knock on her door with a hesitant hand, only for her response to come not from the room but behind me.
"You're back too. I just came in," she says.
"Yeah? That's… Cool," I stare at her awkwardly as my hands dangle like pendulums in front of the rest of my body.
She immediately furrows her eyebrows in my direction, "What is it?" she asks.
"Nothing, nothing," I say quickly, "Where did you go?"
