Chapter 13 - Enter the capital : Ben

Ben looked up at the city gates, looming before him. He knew that there would be guards at the gates, and that they would be looking for him. His face was on wanted posters all over the city, and he knew that he would be captured if he tried to enter. But he also knew that he couldn't stay in the forest forever. He had to find a way to get past the guards and into the city. As he stood there, trying to decide what to do, he felt a tug on his sleeve. He turned and saw the white wolf standing next to him, its eyes pleading. The fenrir seemed to be trying to communicate something to Ben, something that he couldn't quite understand. Right then, a thought occurred to him. He had heard stories of people who could communicate with animals, people who could understand their language. What if he could do the same?. He closed his eyes focused all his energy on the wolf, trying to connect with it on a deeper level. And then, he heard a voice in his head. It was the wolf, speaking to him in a language he didn't understand, but that he somehow knew. The wolf told him that it could help him, that it could get him into the city if he would take it with him. Ben hesitated, unsure if he could trust the wolf. But then, he thought about how the wolf had helped him in the past, and he knew that it was telling the truth. He reached out and stroked the wolf's head, and it licked his hand in response. Then, the wolf turned and began to walk towards the city gates. The hero followed, his heart racing. As they approached the gates, the wolf began to change. Its long fur started to shorten, and its body began to shrink. As the wolf changed, the hero could feel its thoughts in his head. He could feel its emotions, its hopes and its fears. And he could feel its deep bond with him, a bond that was stronger than any other he had ever felt. But as the wolf changed, he also felt its fear of being discovered. And he felt his own fear, the fear of being captured and imprisoned again. The wolf changed completely, becoming a small white kitten. It meowed at the hero, and he picked it up and held it close to his chest. As they approached the city gates, the guards came over to them. As the guards approached, the hero began to cast a spell. He whispered an incantation that he had learned in the ruins, a spell that would disguise his appearance. His hair turned from brown to black, and his eyes changed color. He knew that the guards would not recognize him now, and he began to relax. The guards asked him what his business was in the city, and he told them that he was a merchant, looking to trade his wares. They looked at him suspiciously, but they allowed him to pass through the gates. The hero breathed a sigh of relief. The guards seemed to accept the hero's story, but one of them asked him why he was traveling with a kitten. The hero, not wanting to reveal the truth about the kitten, told them that it was a gift from a friend. The guards nodded and let him pass, and the hero and the kitten continued on their way. As they walked through the city, the hero realized that the kitten was leading him somewhere. He followed the kitten, and it led him to a small, rundown shop. The sign above the shop read "Madam Ursula, Fortune Teller."The hero was intrigued by the shop, and he stepped inside. The old woman behind the counter looked up at him, her eyes twinkling. "Hello, young man," she said. "And who is this little friend of yours?". The hero introduced himself and told the old woman about the kitten. "I don't know where it came from," he said. "I found it in the forest.""I see," the old woman said. "And I think I know what this little one is. Come, sit down, and I will tell you its story." Ben shook his head. "I'm not interested in the kitten's story," he said. "I'm interested in my own story. Who am I? Why am I here?". The old woman looked at him, her eyes full of wisdom. "Those are questions that even the greatest seers cannot answer," she said. "But I can tell you this: your path is not yet clear. You must follow your heart, and trust in yourself."Ben was frustrated. "That's not very helpful," he said. "I just want to know who I am." "You are who you choose to be," the old woman continued. "You can be anyone you want, if you have the courage to believe in yourself. You can change your life, and the lives of others, if you have the will to do so. The future is not set in stone, it is up to you to decide what path you will take. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise."Ben was silent for a moment, considering the old woman's words. "I don't know what to do," he said. "I don't know where to begin.""Begin by looking within yourself," the old woman said. "Find out who you are, what you believe in. Only then can you truly know what path to follow. You must listen to your heart, and follow its guidance. It may lead you to unexpected places, but it will never lead you astray."Ben nodded slowly. "I think I understand," he said. "But it is not easy to know what my heart is telling me. How can I be sure?""You cannot be sure," the old woman said. "But if you are open to its guidance, your heart will never let you down," the old woman said, "if you have the courage to trust it. You must take the first step, even when you cannot see where it will lead. You must have faith in yourself, and in the goodness of the universe. Only then can you truly find your way."Ben sat in silence, considering the old woman's words. After a moment, he spoke. "Thank you," he said. "I will try to follow your advice. I will try to find my way, with the help of my heart."Ben stood up and thanked the old woman. She smiled and nodded, and the hero turned and left the shop. As he walked out into the street, the sunlight hit his face and he blinked. For a moment, he stood still, unsure of what to do next. Then he took a deep breath and began to walk, letting his feet take him where they would.
