Chereads / MYSTIC BONDS THE ALPHA LEGACY / Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

In the depths of the dimly lit basement, Olivia and Leon sat on the cold stone floor, in separate places, their hearts beating erratically in their chests.

Olivia and Leon looked troubled and confused. They had been captured by members of the Omorfos group, both of them getting different factors until they met each other and accidentally crossed an invisible boundary.

As the bars of the cell loomed before her, Olivia's trembling hands gripped the rusted metal, her wide eyes gazing around the room. The guarding of the werewolves that had previously been tight and fierce was now unexpectedly asleep.

Even Leon, who had been putting up a fight, had fallen asleep on his back. Still vivid in his memory, that group of creatures had made them unable to move, it seemed that their presence had been greeted with suspicion and caution, the air was thick with tension.

Behind those bars, Olivia was in a very tight spot, she prayed in the midst of the situation. Then she turned her gaze to another direction, she herself did not know what would happen to them afterwards, Olivia was quite worried about it.

However, she suddenly remembered an ancient book that she found in the cave, when she was about to do that suddenly her small backpack gave off a light, Olivia was quite shocked and immediately checked it out of curiosity.

She began to open her bag and found the ancient book, the light revealed a wolf logo on the cover of the book.

Her hands shook as she carefully opened the pages, unexpectedly the strands of light came out.

"After all this time, I finally found you, Olivia." A voice echoed so clearly that Olivia almost threw the book, but when she heard the voice, she was shocked again. The strands of light coalesced and transformed into an old man who appeared along with the surrounding smoke.

She was stunned by what had just happened. "Ba-how do you know my name?" she asked nervously.

"So your name is Olivia, right? It turns out my guess wasn't wrong." The man smiled as he watched Olivia's curious face.

The girl nodded with hesitation, her heart wondering. "Is that the figure of an astral being, again?"

Olivia stepped back until she was cornered in the room, but she did not expect to hear footsteps, as the old man disappeared. This became a puzzle to her.

As Adam made his way through the labyrinthine passages that led to the underground cell, his footsteps echoed in the dimly lit corridors. The torches lining the walls cast flickering shadows, adding to the eerie atmosphere of his journey. With every step, he couldn't shake the curiosity mixed with wariness of the strangers he was about to meet.

As she reached the cell housing the intruder, her sharp eyes focused on the two figures now cowering in separate corners. Her gaze focused on Olivia's fragile-looking figure, her fear evident even from a distance.

She observed her for a moment, watching the two people in turn, it seemed that they were resigned to each other. While Olivia seemed to be gazing at her surroundings, as if trying to understand the situation around her.

Adam's voice broke the silence, its resonance carrying a sense of authority that contrasted with the confined space. "Who are you?" he asked, his gaze piercing as he studied the two humans before him.

Leon woke up and prepared to rebel, but Olivia immediately stood forward with her eyes wide and filled with anxiety. Her voice trembled as she replied, "My name is Olivia Granesha."

Adam's brow furrowed slightly as he processed the name. Olivia Granesha was not a name he had ever heard before, and he couldn't understand how she ended up in Omorfos territory. The urge to protect his pack and territory fought with a growing sense of compassion for two people who appeared to be in distress.

"Why have you come to Omorfos?" Adam's tone remained steady, but there was a trace of genuine curiosity now. He stepped closer, his eyes never leaving the two men.

Olivia bit her lip nervously, her gaze falling to the ground. "I..."

"We didn't mean to come here. We just got lost on our way home." Leon cut her off instantly, hoping they would be okay.

Adam's instincts were filled with doubt, but as he studied her further, something in her demeanor caught his mind. They seemed genuinely lost and afraid, their vulnerability painting a different picture from the potential threat he had sensed before.

His initial intention was to immediately deal with any intruders to ensure the safety of his flock. However, as he looked into Olivia's eyes, something changed in him. The innocence he saw in her gaze seemed incompatible with his evil intentions.

Adam's face softened imperceptibly, his eyes flashing with empathy. "You've trespassed on our territory, and that's not something we take lightly."

They nodded and made a sound barely above a whisper. "We understand, and we apologize. We meant no harm."

Adam's gaze fell on Leon for a moment, his mind racing with conflicting thoughts. The weight of his responsibility as an alpha pressed down on him, but so did an unexpected sense of compassion.

In a surprising move, Adam unlocked the cell door and stepped inside, his movements deliberate and measured. Adam approached them, his presence towering over them, yet strangely comforting.

"I can end this here," Adam began, his voice low and thoughtful. "I trust you completely, I don't even sense any ill will in you."

Both men widened in shock, their breath caught in their throats as Adam's words sunk in.

"However," Adam continued, his expression stern, while both tensed, waiting for Adam's next words.

"if you wish to remain alive, you must help my comrades to avenge us on the humans who killed the members of the Omorfos group, you are fortunate to have been granted leniency, then and you will be closely monitored. Do you understand?"

At the entrance to the basement, the members of Omorfos gathered together, their expressions a mixture of worry and suspicion. News of the pair of human intruders, had spread like wildfire throughout the group. Whispers filled the air as they speculated on their intentions and the potential threat they posed.

"Did you hear? There are humans in the cell. They dare to venture into our territory," whispered one of the werewolves to the others, their voices mixed with a hint of disbelief.

"Unbelievable! How did they get this far? Adam won't take this well," replied the other pack members, a foreboding tone in their tone.

Among the group, there were those watching with wary eyes, their muscles tense and ready for action. The honor of protecting their group and territory was a responsibility they took seriously, and the appearance of an outsider had triggered the primal instinct to defend.

Adam's reputation as an alpha was well known, and the pack members highly valued his judgment and decisions. As rumors spread, opinions began to align, and a sense of unease spread among them.

"I heard Adam might end it right away, I hope he'll be firm with them."
