It was a wolf subjugation quest. Kaz let his newbies fight it out while he watched them. "On your right!" Kaz was giving instructions to his members while also clipping his nails. "On your left!"
Rawrr!
"Alright, we have already talked about it. But the leader of the wolf's pack is slightly stronger than its members, all you have to do is aim your weapon precisely at its weak point." Kaz said nonchalantly while continuing to clip his nails.
"Captain! Someone is looking for you at the camp!" One of the guild members out of breath runs to Kaz's. "His name Is Mathias captain and he said you gave him the guild card."
Kaz who heard the familiar name, stood up. "You newbie take care of the other players and provide backup if needed. I'll be back." Kaz left in a hurry, he sprinted his way outside of the forest and rushed to the camp.
After only 10 minutes, Kaz arrived. He immediately entered the camp and searched for Mathias.
From his guild members' words, Kaz found Mathias sitting inside his tent waiting for him. "Sir Mathias!" Kaz greeted and stretched his hand.
"Hello Kaz, I was wondering if I have a moment to speak with you?" Mathias asked and shook hands with Kaz.
"Of course, may I ask what's the reason?" Kaz asked and seated himself. "My guild will help you and provide you with the best possible service."
"About that, have you heard of the current strife between the Brumoure kingdom and the demons?" Mathias asked.
"Yes, everyone has heard about it...Are you perhaps asking us whose side we are on?" Kaz asked and earned a nod from Mathias. "To tell you the truth sir Mathias, me and my guild don't want to enter any side. I don't want to lose my guild members over this war, plus siding with either one can brand us as enemies with the other. And I like to avoid that at all costs."
"Hmm, I understand...Anyway, I only came here to ask you for that matter. It was a pleasure talking with you." Mathias stood up and left the tent.
While Kaz sat there re-thinking his decisions. 'Was that a chance for us to cooperate? Shit...But, the lives of my members are at stake, hah.' Kaz sighed.
'Hah, I guess I can't ask Kaz for help in this upcoming event.' Ethan sighed despondently. He was planning on recruiting Kaz to help him in this quest but it seems like the latter didn't want to be involved in any sort of way.
Ethan logged out of his character and logged in as Aileen.
"Master, I have prepared your lunch." Bhaltair put down the tray of food for Aileen to eat.
"Well thank you Bhaltair, I was thinking about our current predicament. We need allies, an army to suffice." Aileen took the cup of tea and slowly drank.
"Master, my father was an orc and my mother was a human. Both my parents raised me in a village with humans, but my father never wanted me to forget his side. I still have minimal contact with the orcs living across the Brinacle Woodland, I converse through a letter with one of my cousins living there." Bhaltair said.
"Are you planning on recruiting them?" Aileen asked and Bhaltair nodded.
"Yes master, my orc race has been called warriors in the demon king domain for years. Although they lived peacefully now, I'm sure they would accept once they understand what our fellow demons are currently facing at the Brumoure kingdom." Bhaltair said.
"That would be a good idea, then why don't we travel there tomorrow? We will recruit the orcs to help us in this war." Aileen said and added. "Although the orcs would be helpful, we need other demons to help but for now let's focus on recruiting them."
"Yes!" Bhaltair joyously replied.
Time works differently in the Avelon game. All Ethan had to do was to find a bed for his character to sleep in, and a day would pass. Thus Ethan moved his cursor and made Aileen sleep.
When morning came, Bhaltair arrived with a tray of food for Aileen to eat. "Thank you, Bhaltair, have you eaten already?" She asked.
"Yes master I have, I have also finished preparing for our trip," Bhaltair said to which in response Aileen nodded her head.
After eating breakfast, the two were ready for their journey. "I will cast my magic into you, this way our journey won't take us long." Aileen flicked her wand, two wings sprouted from both their backs. "There, now let us fly." Aileen guided Bhaltair as they flew at a fast pace.
"Bhaltair, how long have you worked for the Brumoure Kingdom?" Aileen asked.
"Five years, Master. I showed my skills and managed to become a captain. My friend Neo was a captain as well, I remember how we would relentlessly train day and night for our goals...But it seems like it was for naught." Bhaltair said with despondency in his tone.
"It wasn't for naught, you trained yourself to reach the goal you wanted. It wasn't your fault your goals were foiled, instead, it was your enemy's fault." Aileen said and added. "Anyways, how long till we get there?"
"Approximately three hours master. Since the Brinacle Woodland lies between the Brumoure and Thairid Kingdom borders." Bhaltair replied.
'This would be a long journey...' Ethan thought as he opened a bag of chips while putting the AI in control as he tidied himself up. Ethan trimmed his hair and beard, he took a shower as well to freshen himself up. But since that wasn't enough, Ethan ate lunch and even worked out for a few minutes.
After doing miscellaneous stuff, Ethan sat back facing his laptop. "Finally they arrived.."
"So this is the entrance of the forest?" Aileen asked to which Bhaltair nodded in response.
"Yes, I have only been here one time, that was when I was only ten years old and my family moved to a human village." Bhaltair gestured for Aileen as the two entered the forest.
The pair entered the forest. The journey took quite a long time, the two had to cross rivers and mountains.
"Bhaltair you said that this forest is covered in a disenchantment magic isn't it right?" Aileen asked, she flicked her hand a few times, but she couldn't muster magic or even perform magic.
"Yes master, the orcs have lived for a long time and always chose that strength is the best possible outcome. When they found this forest that could disenchant magic, the orcs decided to settle here. For orcs, magic is a cowardly act and a pain to fight as well." Bhaltair said.
"I'm already tired from this trip, it would have been easier if I could cast my magic.." Aileen said and added. "Bhaltair, how long till we get there?"
"Not long now master, I have asked one of my cousins to guide us. He will give us a signal and greet us." Bhaltair said and Aileen furrowed her brows.
Rustle, Rustle
"Ouch! Stop it you two!"
"Bhaltair?" Aileen asked to which Bhaltair nodded and held his sword tightly.
"Who goes there?!" Bhaltair shouted the voices stopped. "Show yourselves!"Bhaltair shouted once again, and three figures came out of the bushes.
An adult orc and two young orcs. Bhaltair put down his weapons and smiled. "Cousin!" Bhaltair greeted.
"Cousin! It's been a long time!" Chiruk opened his arms and hugged Bhaltair. "Gosh, fifteen years already, you have grown into a fine young orc!"
"You as well, you made me tensed, I thought it was an enemy," Bhaltair said and patted Chiruk on the chest. "It is nice to see you again cousin." Bhaltair glanced at the two children and pointed at them. "Are they perhaps?"
"Yes, they are my children," Chiruk said and pushed his sons in front of Bhaltair. "Kric, Churk give your greetings to your uncle."
The two young orcs bowed their head.
"Anyways, I was waiting for you for a long time. I thought you might have gone lost, but it seems it wasn't the case. And..Who is she?" Chiruk pointed at Aileen.
"This is my master, I am serving her," Bhaltair said and added. "Chiruk, I'm sure you have read my letter. About the current strife in the Brumour kingdom.."
"Yes, I have...I have already talked with the chieftain. But we need more details, anyway the two of you must be tired from your trip. Let's go, my wife has prepared a meal for you two." Chiruk gestured and Bhaltair and Aileen followed.
"When I read the letter I knew how dangerous the situation was. Humans, tsk, although our god has already made a pact with theirs they dare to break it? Just what is wrong with these people, peace that they always wanted became true but now they're the ones trying to disrupt the peace. Despicable." Chiruk said, he shook his head and rubbed the back of his head. "Sorry, I was just angry when I read the letter."
"I'm the same as well cousin, humans have always longed for peace, yet now they crave war. Even I am confused with this situation." Bhaltair expressed his worries. "I am not only worried for our people but also worried for the innocent humans that would get swept by the political strife of the crown prince."
"Although I don't like humans you are correct, evil leaders can hurt innocent people. Hah, just when peace has prevailed..." Chiruk pointed at the tree. "Anyways, this is the entrance of the village come." Chiruk gestured and entered the tree's tunnel.
Aileen and Bhaltair followed suit, the two entered the tunnel and arrived at a beautiful village of orcs. Numerous orcs were doing their daily lives, but many were curious about Aileen and Bhaltair and watched them.
"No worries, it had been ages since visitors came thus everyone is curious about the two of you. By the way, you Bhaltair's master are you perhaps affiliated with the vampire counts in the northern dead lands?" Chiruk asked Aileen.
"No...I haven't even heard of vampires living in this place called Dead Lands." Aileen replied.
"Huh, strange, that's where the vampires lived. I thought you had some kind of affiliation with them.." Chiruk said.
'Northern dead lands? Is it a new map in the game?' Ethan questioned. 'Also what did he mean vampire counts? Aileen isn't a vampire she's a human...' Ethan turned on his phone while the Npc Chiruk toured Aileen and Bhaltair.
Ethan checked his email, he was planning on writing another email filled with questions to the developer. "I checked the official website, but it doesn't have anything said about the northern dead lands nor vampires..." Ethan searched for the creator's name in his email and found that the developer had replied to his email a few days ago.
[GGadri:
- Hi thank you so much for your wonderful message, I'm glad you are enjoying Avelon and its new map and updates. Avelon is already considered an old game, I thought of shutting the game down a few years ago. Still, your messages and constant support have always motivated me to make avelon better than ever! It's been fifteen years yet your constant support has never dwindled. I'm joyous for your support, and I'm glad you enjoyed the new updates!
I always wanted the game to reach another length, but due to some errors, Avelon wasn't able to reach its full glory. The new maps are also the courtesy of another game I am collaborating with. Avelon still has many loopholes and bugs, thus I'm working all the time to make the game as better as ever! If you have questions about the game's new maps, items, character design, and NPC's, and tons of other stuff! You can message me via my email.
Thank you for your support Ethan-san! I wish you the best experience in Avelon!]
"He had read my messages?!" Ethan smiled wholeheartedly, he couldn't count how many praises and support messages he had always sent the creator of Avelon. He thought that someone like him who's only one of the fans wouldn't get noticed, but all this time the creator was reading his messages?!
A fan like Ethan could only say that his dreams came true. Ethan immediately replied and wrote a message to the developer.
