Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Chief Of The Orcs

[Hi, I have been supporting Avelon for many years now. The game helped me from my worst times, and I have grown to love the game through the years.

I'm very glad that Mr. GGadri has updated the game, it's been a blast! But I have some questions regarding the game...]

"Will he reply?" Ethan lingered on that question, he took a heave of breath and pressed enter sending the email. "I guess it'll take some time for him to reply..."

[GGadri:

- I'm happy that you enjoyed the update. You can ask me anything regarding the new updates of the game.]

"He replied!!" Ethan immediately typed in his concerns with the new map.

[The map I'm using is still the old one, numerous places and countries aren't accessible since they don't exist in the original map and I'm having trouble searching for the new lands that the NPCs are telling me of. If it isn't much can you tell me when the new map will be updated? and my question is regarding my character Aileen, her job or specialization is a Blood Dark Mage.

Two of the NPCs kind of take Aileen as a demon as well, and I'm kind of confused why. Aileen is a human, although her job is on the demonic side, I made her a human, that's why I'm confused as to why they would take Aileen as one of their own?]

[GGadri:

- About your character Aileen, the job Blood Dark Mage is a rare type of job. From the game history, you managed to acquire that job after your character Aileen managed to defeat a demon boss in the hell map. There have been changes, the Blood Dark Mage, is a mage that uses dark magic to control blood. I toggled the job, when your character Aileen defeated the demon boss, she gained that occupation and became a demon herself.

But there are only some demons who possess that kind of magic, aka vampires. In order not to make things confusing for the game, I changed your character's race into a demon.

Also, about the new map, I'm still working on it sorry. The other game I'm collaborating with is busy with a new event, the whole new world and countries and map belong to them so I have to wait, they are also trying to merge my map into theirs that's why it's taking a long time. But I promise once the new map is released I will immediately update yours.]

"The creator is so kind..." Ethan finally had the answer he wanted for. Ethan wrote a message to the creator one more time to express his thanks, and after that, their conversation ended.

[You have a new message!]

"A message?" Ethan opened the email message and found that the company he sent his application letter to a day ago replied to him. "Holy.."

[ASCE,

-Dear Mr. Dwight,

We have received your application letter and are pleased to inform you that we are in need of several scouts. We would like to invite you to attend an interview tomorrow as a potential candidate for the position.

Please come by for your interview as scheduled. We look forward to meeting you.

Best regards, ASCE]

"I...I got in!" Ethan put his hands up in the air, he got out of his room almost slipping at the door. "Mom! I have an interview tomorrow!" Ethan shouted aloud.

"Oh my?! Really? That's amazing son!" Martha delightfully hugged her son. "I guess you wouldn't be working in the convenience store... But I'm glad you got in sweetheart!"

After their celebration and Ethan's mother throwing a small feast for dinner, Ethan went back to his room to get back to the game.

"Welp, focus on the game." Ethan focused on the game and his character Aileen who was now a vampire. "The northern dead lands, that's where the vampires live. I can't wait to explore there with Aileen! But for now, since the new map still isn't available, I just have to wait.."

Bhaltair and Aileen were inside a tent with the orc's village chief. There were other orc elders as well.

"Hm, if what you say is correct then the humans are already thinking of waging a war against our people..." The orc chief, Vluro said.

"It's only a matter of time before they plan to harm our people," Bhaltair said and added. "I am concerned that it might be too late. The demons have been locked up and are being treated as prisoners. If we don't act, there will be carnage."

"I understand your worries young one, but this matter cannot be taken lightly. If the humans are planning to stage another war, then we have to prepare for the worst." The orc chief expressed his worries.

"But they are already are...I am only saying that we can foil their plans before it starts chief." Bhaltair said. If we wait for them to show their fangs, it will be too late. It's better to intercept them now instead of waiting."

""I understand your plan and it seems plausible, but I cannot execute it. I'm sorry, I cannot provide you with a strong army. The original warriors who fought fifteen years ago aren't the same anymore, and the new generation lacks what we had. Unlike the way we were raised, the new ones were brought up with utmost care. They're too soft and have never faced a battle in their lives. Tell me, have you ever been to war?" Vluro asked.

"I...No...I have never experienced or seen what war is.." Bhaltair put down his head.

"I rest my case," Vluro continued. "Winning a war isn't just about having hundreds of troops. While they are needed, the most important thing is the wisdom and kindness of a leader. As a leader, you bear the burden of your troops. They trust you with their lives, and one mistake due to that trust can result in their death. War means losing people you love, and the guilt can stay with you till your last breath. War creates scars..."

"You right chief...But if we let this be then the scars will only deepen...It is better to do this now than let the scars worsen.." Bhaltair said.

"Naive...Naive. I commence that this meeting is finished, I need some time.." Vluro stood up and left the tent along with the other elders.

"That was kind of tough of you cousin... No one had ever spoken to the chief in that way...I understand your determination and your sense of justice cousin, but the chief is right...War only brings pain and suffering." Chiruk said.

"They do.." Bhaltair replied with a defeated smile. "I just hope that with your help we can put an end to the suffering our people are suffering in the hands of the Brumore kingdom.."

"Wow, Bhaltair seems to have a strong desire to help them. His heroism and sense of justice are quite admirable." Ethan said while holding the cursor. "The orc chief was correct in his assessment that war is a frightening experience that only brings pain."

"Master...It seems like we failed.." Bhaltair bitterly said to Aileen. "We came here all the way, yet we still failed in recruiting them.."

"Don't worry Bhaltair there's always tomorrow. I'll support you in your conquest, and I will never stop supporting you until you reach your goal." Aileen said lighting up Bhalair's somber expression.

"Thank you for your trust master, I will do my best," Bhaltair said.

"Hmm...If you really want to achieve the chief's support there is another way. "Chiruk said and captured both Aileen and Bhalair's attention.

"It's easy, the chief makes the decision, although the elders also hold a position in the village they don't try to argue with the chief's decision. So if you become the chief, then doesn't that mean you have the reign in the decisions of the village?"

"Chief....I..." Bhaltair regained his vigor. "You are right cousin, if I somehow become the chief then I will hold the decisions. However, the chief's extensive experience, having lived through the war, makes him a formidable opponent."

"Then you have to train, starting tomorrow I will train you Bhaltair to defeat the chieftain," Aileen said. "We would be here for some time, thus bhaltair I will train you to the bone, do not expect favoritism from me."

"Yes! Thank you, Master!" Bhaltair said.

"Anyways, I'll take you to your sleeping quarters. It's not much but I hope you'll like it." Chiruk said and led them to a small house. "This is it, it has two rooms each for ms Aileen and for you cousin."

"Thank you Chiruk, you don't know how thankful I am for your help," Bhaltair said.

"No worries cousin, I'm happy to help," Chiruk said and patted Bhaltair at the back. "Anyways, I have to go, my wife and kids are looking for me." Chiruk bid farewell.

Aileen and Bhaltair went to their separate rooms. Aileen slept, and Ethan decided to pause the current progress. Ethan yawned and readied himself for the night.

"I'll continue the game tomorrow. For now, time to catch some z's." Ethan slept.

When morning came, Ethan got himself ready for an interview. "Mom, I'm going now!"

"Already? But it's too early son, you haven't eaten breakfast yet!" Martha said worriedly.

"I'll eat later, I have to be the first one there." Ethan kissed his mom on the cheek and left the apartment.

Ethan was ecstatic at the thought of finally getting a job. Ethan rode the bus, the commute took 30 minutes. Ethan got off the bus and went to the company.

"Wow." Ethan let out a gasp. The company was big and tall, it was a scouting company and it managed many players. Though it doesn't have the same league as the other scouting companies in America, Ethan was already happy with it. "Huu, I hope I finally get a job.."
