"I apologize for being late, sir." Walter said quietly.
He stood next to Frank, Tim and Cassandra and had not even seemed to notice them since all his respectful gaze was fixed on Bruce Slader.
Bruce was listening intently to what Walter was saying. He had always liked the short bespeckled man who worked at the hotel.
His records were always in order.
He was never late and never behind on his tasks and did things smoothly and efficiently, something Bruce rather appreciated.
"I am afraid I received word quite late of the boss' arrival," Walter continued, "I was asked to escort the Dearcrofts to the Event Hall and must have missed the instruction then."
"The Dearcrofts?" Bruce raised an eyebrow in surprise, "To the Event Hall? Now?"
"Yes, sir."
Bruce frowned, "Should they not have left by now? It is late."
Walter nodded, "They insisted that they see the Event Hall one last time before they retire for the day."
