Chapter 7 - Volume 1 Chapter 7; Get out get out get out!!

The place lit up with screams and gunshots, people running for their lives as the concrete floor was painted in a running crimson. All communications were jammed, and we couldn't call for backup. My hands were tied, holding the box close to my chest, still kneeling on the ground. Trying to think of something.

"Emma! Forget the dealer and let's go!" I shouted, turning to my sister, who put her gun into her pocket and followed me closely.

We exited the building, lights flashing all over the place looking for more people associated with the undergrounds. As we looked down catching a glimpse of the guards that would run past us, our eyes widened when we saw their uniform.

"The C.C.C.A," I muttered under my breath, a sudden chill running up my spine. I looked at my sister, my eyes filled with fear, as I handed her the box. "Go; you should be able to get this out unnoticed."

"What about you?" She asked, her eyebrows furrowing in concern as she took the box from my hands.

"I'll make it out, don't worry." I smiled at her.

"When has your big brother ever let you down?" I say mustering up all my confidence to send her a reassuring smile.

"Does two minutes even count to give you that title?" She muttered, irritated by the constraints of the task at hand.

"It does to me, now hurry." I chuckle clenching my fingers into a fist.

And just like that, she was gone, disappeared in an instant, leaving me to get out on my own.

"Well, well, well." A deep voice was heard approaching me from behind, the sound of cracking assaulted my ears as I slowly turned around, seeing a man with a lumberjack-like beard, his brown hair tainted with white strands.

Black eyes staring right at me with a fire burning in them. Next to him stood a younger man, his blue hair done in a man bun and cyan eyes.

"Seems like the underground accepts people of all ages." The old man commented, raising up the sleeves to his officer uniform.

"Connor, you get the girl." He smirks, brandishing his hairy forearm that looked more like a mass of muscle rather than an arm.

"Are you sure, Max, they're just kids," Connor muttered to him.

"I'll go easy on him, no promises if he resists though." He glanced back with a side eye with little to no mercy.

That sentence made my skin crawl, my senses telling me to get out of there as soon as possible.

"Okay," Connor muttered before leaving the man to me, my foot shifting against the concrete floor lightly to hopefully inches away, but at that exact moment, Max was already in my face from below, his hand coiled back with explosive force and ready to give me a massive blow to the jaw.

I stumbled backward dodging the attack only to be met with a follow-up to my gut and a brutal right hook to the face, sending me flying back. Dry heaving over the coursing burning pain winding me off all my oxygen.

My nose bled the pain stinging my face as he approached me, cracking his knuckles even more, ready for the next round. Malevolent joy is plastered all over his face as he continues to flex and prepare his fists for what's to come.

"I want to say 'not bad kid' for dodging my first attack but, not much to praise when you're already on the floor two seconds in a fight." He chuckles seeing the pitiful sight before him.

I grit my teeth and get up, running to the man using all of my momentum to send right for his jaw, Only for him to dodge at the last possible second. By shifting the position of his foot he sends himself into a pivot avoiding the blow entirely. I was too far gone. I was about to fall from my attack, before receiving a nasty blow to the gut, his knee digging deeper and deeper into my abdomen. More and more saliva spewed out of my mouth and nose accompanied this time by an alarming crimson taint.

Yellow flashes of light pierced my retinas, as he messed with my Stealth cybernetics, sending me stumbling back. My senses were messed with, all I saw was red, my nose clogged with my blood, my ears ringing from the immense pain as warning signs flashed before my eyes, so many things were destroyed in one attack. A ripple of static tears through my vision alerting me to the immense strain on my body. The covert Cybernetic screams out from the damage received as it begins to short, barely holding itself together.

Slowly Max walked up to me, one of his hands scratching the back of his neck nonchalantly, his steps slow, taunting me knowing that I couldn't get away no matter how fast he walked, he was mocking me, my weakness.

"So tell me, Do you have anything to do with the missing tech four years ago?" Max started, looking at me in my pitiful state.

I looked up at him, wanting to make a confused face but the pain stuck one of suffering on me, my face painted with crimson, sparks flying within me, I could feel my body burning, overheating, boiling at the seams. I couldn't speak much less move on my own.

"Ok then," He sighed, picking me up by the hoodie of my jacket. "Do you know anyone that goes under the name Decryption?"

I choked on my blood from the sudden lift, my eyes looking straight into his, not saying a word before he sighed an exasperated sigh. Coiling his back once more before sending it flying straight in my gut.

My pupils dilated from the pain, watching him coil back once more, but I knew I couldn't take another blow like that, as Max tried to strike me once more, A shield covered my body, cutting off the arm that held me and stopped his fist from reaching me.

He bit his tongue trying to redirect the pain somewhere else, trying to stop himself from screaming as blood gushed out of his hand, letting go of me as I fell to the ground in my little bubble.

He chuckled lightly, ripping the arm of his shirt and binding his wound. Looking at me, his black eyes filled with a burning rage, one you wouldn't get from his face. He walked slowly to me, coiling his arm sleeve even more, revealing a metal plate at the back of it.

He quickly stepped in front of me, his hand low as the metal plate opened shooting off a burst of energy making his punch move even faster, the impact sent me flying through games and buildings, my flight ending in the side of a futuristic billboard advertising fighting lessons.

The man flew in the constricted air of the undergrounds, his body propelled by the boosters on his arms, landing right where I was to continue his assault hitting me with blow after blow after blow, the booster on his arm getting bigger each swing, digging me deeper and deeper into the billboard my eyes closed shut, not knowing what to do as my shield strained under his assault.

'I don't have much time...'
