I just wanted to leave this here just so you know how the magic of this world works and a few key things to take note of.
MAGIC:
There are three types of magical energy;
1) physical innate energy.
2) elemental or acquired energy.
3) Mental energy.
1) physical innate energy:
This is the energy contained inside a person right from birth and although many are born with it, only a few are able to harness it. Those who are able to harness it can increase their physical capabilities up to ten times that of an average person but there are limitations.
2) elemental or acquired energy:
The energy that flows freely around the world and just like innate energy, only a few manage to learn how to acquire such energy, and even less end up mastering it.
3) mental energy:
The state and strength of the mind. Mental energy determines the rate and strength of energy both innate and acquired. While the energy itself decides how long a person can use it, mental energy determines how a person can use it.
---------------
RANKS:
1) knights:
Those who manage to harness their innate energy are given the honor of knighthood, but only a few of them become royal knights.
2) Grand knights:
Very few individuals manage to harness their innate energy to an unattainable degree, it is said that some of them are able to slice off the top of mountains with a single swing of their blades.
3) Mages:
Those who can acquire and utilize the free flow of nature. They are able to manipulate one of the six elements wind, ice, fire, water, earth, and lightning.
4) Grand Mages:
Similar to grand knights, they are mages who managed to reach unattainable heights in the utilization of acquired energy.
-------
BEASTS:
Strange creatures that emerged from within the Vale, there have been a few rumors about their origin but no one has ever confirmed it even still there are a few records of the most powerful ones.
1) Typhon:
A beast, rumored to be the king of all beasts and he is said to be the one who created the Vale as well.
2) Echidna:
Rumored to be the mother of all beasts, her power stands beyond anything imaginable.
3) The four winds:
Legendary beasts known to possess acquired magic that far exceeds that of grand mages and their strength is unmatched as well. Said to be assigned a cardinal position from which their respective winds came from the far ends of the kingdom of Azurelia, they include Boreas, the north wind, Notus, the southern wind, Eurus, the eastern wind and Zephyrus the western wind.
4) Dragons:
Mystic beings that live on a remote floating piece of land that is situated to the far north of Azurelia and are known for their huge and rough bodies and
incredible strength and power. The type of element they can breathe can be depicted by the color of their skin.
5) Lex Ilvun:
Also known as the shadow dragon, the mere mention of his name leaves everyone trembling in their boots.
No one has ever seen this legendary beast that is known to have the power of a god but it is known to be the only being to ever be able to manipulate more than one element.
-------
CLANS:
Kagano:
Known for their extreme physical abilities, they are very adept in the use of lightning and eighty percent (80%) of their mages get chosen as royal mages. They hail from the kingdom of Azurelia. Their distinguishing feature is their white hair and slightly dark blue eyes.
Blade:
A mysterious clan known to have been killed and had the remaining members scattered around the world. Hailing from Atlantis, the blades are feared because of their immense mental energy which allows them to manipulate both innate and acquired energy at the same time. They are known for having brown hair but possess no distinguishing feature.
Greenwood:
The very clan of the legendary god-like queen and first ruler of the Azurelia Kingdom, Azurelia herself. Known for their members being mostly mages and are also incredibly versatile when it comes to the type of elemental energy a member can acquire. Their distinguishing features are their red hair and bright green eyes.
Ryder:
A clan known for their massively inhuman strength and extreme proficiency when it comes to the use of their fist and gauntlets only makes them even deadlier.
No one compares to them when it comes to the use of innate energy and they can be distinguished by their bright yellow hair and bright blue eyes.
Razwell:
A clan full of mysteries known to none. No one knows their whereabouts or how they came to be only that they were the first to practice dark magic and made it known to the world.
...
---------
KNIGHTS:
Knights can also be classified as follows by the type of weapon they use and similar to grand knights, there are a few who manage to become the most adept in the use of a weapon and are dimmed the master of that particular weapon, it's them who possess the potential of becoming future grand knights.
1) Swordsmen:
Those who use swords.
2) Lancers:
Those who use lances.
3) Archers:
Those who use bows and arrows.
4) Martial artists:
Hailing mostly from the Ryder clan, they are those who prefer the use of their fists and wear gauntlets sometimes to increase their overall strength.
5) Riders:
A general name given to those who manage to tame dragons any person from the four classes can become a rider but archers benefit the most from it when it comes to battle.
----------
CRYSTALS:
Strange two glowing stones that are found in the bodies of beasts, the intensity of their glow determines the amount of power that emits from a particular beast and the strength of the said beast. They grow only in veils and are known to be the cause of the evolution of beasts. They are also used in socketing gears and can be classified based on their color.
2) White crystals:
These are also known as vitality crystals. They increase the overall durability of anything they are socketed into and compared to power crystals are more versatile when it comes to what they can be used on.
3) Yellow Crystals:
These are also known as energy crystals. They can imbue anything they are socketed into with more innate energy and are most often used by mages who feel the need to use weapons and by knights in dire times.
Even with the great buffs these crystals can grant, they possess serious consequences when used wrongly, and the stronger the crystal, the greater the consequence.
-----------
KEYWORDS:
1) The Vale:
A place known to be the home of beasts and a mysterious area that few people fear more than anything else, no one who has gone there has ever lived to see another day.
2) Socketing:
This is the act of planting a crystal into any piece of object to increase the overall quality of that said object.
3) Accession:
This is the process where a beast evolves into the next stage by chomping down on the crystals. This results in the crystals breaking down and reforming and leaves the beast in a very weakened state and also makes the crystal stronger.
4) Mutation:
This is the result of a human being consuming a crystal and although it grants them a huge amount of power, can result in the death or mental distortion of the victim. A few manage to survive it, but they are never the same after the process.
One of the consequences of crystals being used wrongly.
Note:
Everything here is known to the characters in the story so you won't hear them talk about it unless there's something new to them.
