Chapter 2 - New Beginnings

When Miquella reluctantly pried open his bleary eyes, he couldn't help but feel a surge of relief. Instead of being thrust into the midst of a chaotic birthing scene like those poor souls in reincarnation stories, he found himself snugly nestled in what seemed like a cozy crib. His newborn eyesight was blurry, but amidst the haze, he could discern the unmistakable signs of a hospital room – the overwhelming white surroundings and the distinct scent of antiseptic that tickled his tiny nose.

After what felt like an eternity in his miniature, suffocating prison known as a crib, Miquella's heart leapt with shock as he was suddenly lifted by a nurse in white. He then found himself cradled in another new pair of arms. As his bleary newborn eyes adjusted to the warm glow of the hospital room, he realized he was nestled in the tender embrace of Marika, his new mother. How could he tell? Well, it was pretty obvious when she towered over everyone around her and had Marika's signature long blond braided hair. Her touch was gentle, her voice soothing, and it filled his tiny heart with a sense of comfort that seemed almost otherworldly. It was a stark contrast to the character he had read about, a figure who callously cast aside her own sons due to their birth circumstances and the way they looked. This Marika, however, radiated love and nurturance.

But then, his breath hitched. In his mother's other arm, nestled against her chest, was another bundle, adorned with strands of vibrant blood-red hair. Miquella's heart hammered against his ribs. It couldn't be. It was impossible. As if it was instinct, he knew who it was: Malenia, his twin sister, her golden eyes fixed intently on him.

A wave of shock washed over him. Malenia? Here? In this world? This wasn't a dream. This was real. At that moment, Miquella realized what the godlike being had done – they had brought Malenia, the Blade of Miquella, into this world alongside him.

After the initial wonder and shock of being reborn into this new world, the days quickly blurred together for Miquella. Though confined to the hospital for the first few weeks of his life, he gradually grew more accustomed to his tiny body, even though he couldn't help but envy those fictional reincarnators who seemed to effortlessly walk and talk from the get-go. 'Seriously,' he thought, 'What kind of cheat codes did they have that I missed out on?'

During an important workout session, which consisted of him straining to lift his head, Miquella was suddenly scooped up by a nurse. Before he could feel disappointed at the interruption to his rigorous training regimen, the nurse gently placed him into the welcoming arms of his mother, Marika.

"Oh, my little one," Marika cooed, her voice filled with warmth. "It's time to go home."

Though Miquella could not understand a single word she said, he could sense the warmth, excitement, and joy radiating from her as she cradled him and his twin sister, Malenia. He realized that it was finally time to leave the hospital and go to what would become his new home.

As they exited the building, Miquella's eyes widened in surprise. His mother, Marika, stood beside a sleek black limousine, its polished exterior glistening under the afternoon sun. With a gentle touch, Marika settled Miquella into the plush car seat, and a sense of awe and wonder enveloped him. It became evident that his new life would be vastly different from the one he had left behind. Nestled comfortably alongside Malenia in their baby car seats, they embarked on their journey...

(some time later)

As the limousine turned into the driveway, Miquella's eyes grew wide with wonder. The house that came into view surpassed anything he had ever seen before. It stood as a grand mansion, adorned with tall columns and sprawling wings that seemed to stretch on endlessly. The warm glow of the sun embraced the estate, illuminating the lush green lawns and vibrant flowers that adorned the surroundings.

Three months had passed since Miquella's birth, and he had undergone a remarkable transformation. From a fragile and dependent newborn, he had blossomed into an active and curious baby, brimming with newfound abilities. His once feeble limbs had gained strength, allowing him to not only sit up confidently on his own but also to crawl around. During his crawling time, he would follow people, especially his mother, eager to explore the world around him.

As Miquella followed his mother around, he not only began grasping the language but also uncovered her occupation as a fashion designer who specialized in crafting outfits for heroes and individuals with unique quirks. Throughout this journey, his twin sister, Malenia, remained a steadfast companion, always by his side, mirroring his every action and joining him in exploring their home. Her imitation of him was nothing short of adorable.

As Miquella layed in his crib, he couldn't help but think about the day he would finally discover his quirk. The thought filled him with excitement and anticipation. He was eager to find out how the original Miquella's powers had transformed into his own unique ability, and how he could use it to become a hero. Despite knowing the path wouldn't be easy, his determination was unwavering. He was ready to face any challenge that came his way and fulfill his dream of becoming a hero.
