Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Poor Me

"Heavenly emperor, goddess of luck, boy toy of luck, golden king, Lin Fan, Mo Fan, Chen Fan. Every surnamed Fan, bearer of luck give me crumbs of your luck so I can get the dragon race." After saying that he spat on his hands and clapped them. Bowing 3 times to complete the ritual. He said," I'm ready."

"That was totally unnecessary since those people can't even sense this place."

"Spin the roulette please," Vincent said ignoring Defoe completely as his luck and misfortune sense started tingling.

After giving his command. The statue of the beast god came alive and walked towards the roulette.

*boom* *boom*

Its footsteps thundered as it move its mechanical body towards the roulette. Upon reaching the roulette it raised its staff and hooked the hook on it's eye. Applying force the roulette started rolling rapidly.

As if on cue, Vincent started praying as he bit his nails, eyeing the moving roulette.

The roulette that started gaining speed had it speed reduced while passing on races like bear, cockroach, mongoose, kangaroo. It already loosened speed reduced drastically as it reached the kobold race.

Vincent who saw the pin of the roulette almost stopping at the kobold race almost had a heart attack. With an anxious heart, our traditionalist started praying to other gods, and as if hearing his prayer, the roulette moved on to the dragon race. Seeing it losing momentum while not covering half the portion the dragon race covered.

He sighed in relief as he was about to celebrate his victory. But the loosened roulette unexpectedly sped up bypassing the dragon race. Not noticing Defoe who made a hand movement that sped up the roulette. Defoe foiled Vincent's chance of reincarnating as a dragon as if repaying a personal grudge he held.

"NOOO. MY DRAGON RACE. Why is my luck that bad?" I had this in the bag but just had to speed. As he was sulking he didn't notice that the roulette stopped on the white tiger kin race. As if dissatisfied it moved on to the tiger kin race and halted all movement. With that Vincent who wanted to reincarnate as a dragon had to make do with a tiger.

"I'm sorry little one. But it seems luck wasn't on your side. You almost reincarnated as a dragon. At that moment I was rooting for you. How unfortunate! So it seems your journey in the second life is about to start. Any last words?" Defoe asked while he snapped his fingers.

A portal opened a few steps away from Vincent. The portal was gloomy. The other side is unseeable. It radiated a dark, gloomy vibe.

"It seems your transport is here." Defoe motioned to the portal as he declared to Vincent.

"The world you'll reincarnate to is a world of magic. The concept of levels applies though only on you and your fellow transmigrators' side." Defoe shared a little bit of information.

"Thanks for the opportunity," Vincent said with a bowed head. He proceeded to walk towards the portal. After reaching in front of the portal, he turned towards Viva and blurted out.

"The earlier I meet you the faster you join my harem."

"Scum bag in your dreams," Viva said amused at Vincent's antics. Knowing this guy said and did whatever came to mind when it came to women. After her brief interaction with him and her observation of his actions with Dorothy.

Without turning back he stepped towards the portal which was quickly switched out with a purple one. Not minding it, while thinking of it as one of Defoe's antics he stepped into it.

"WHO DARES," with a furious shout Defoe said as he glanced at a particular place in the void.

Not wanting to involve the innocent contestants he opened a portal beneath them whilst sending the remaining two of the top 5 a telepathic message. 'Don't worry, I know what you guys want. Since I don't want to be unfair. I already chose the rewards you prefer. Good luck in your next life.' He cut the connection after his message.

"Come out."

Three individuals came out of the void. Two were male with the last one a female.

Of the two males, one was in a suit with braises to hold his shirt. He wore black shoes to match his black shirt. And surprisingly this young man was Lucius Defoe's supposed son who was sent on an errand. His yellow hair was long reaching his shoulders and tied neatly in a ponytail. His face is unblemished, with thin sharp eyebrows and a small mouth with an oval nose. His eyes were a deep blue.

The man beside Lucius looked like an older version of Lucius. He was dressed in a black kimono, his appearance that of someone who escaped from jail. His black Kimono was torn in several places. His yellow was short, messy and full of soot. His physique is muscular contrasting Lucius' lean one. His jawline chiselled with lots of beard. Floating calmly he eyed Defoe like a hawk.

The woman had red hair, meanwhile, she wore a short cream dress that highlighted her curves. She had green, large, round eyes. Her red hair fell behind her back like a waterfall. Her nose pointed with a big mouth akin to a noisy bitch. She had black eyes which resembled the bottom of a well, very black.

Her dress clung unto her body. She had a modest chest and flat ass as he floated beside the other two. The mature Lucius spoke out first while trying to hold back his killing intent that was leaking out.

"Are you still going to keep using my face while the genuine one is here? You Fake."

"Keke." Defoe chuckled, His body morphing while it was covered by a shadow aura that prevented his body from being seen. As if a reaper always staying in the shadows as he continued with a husky voice different from his mild tone."Well, what can I say Claude it suited me well since your dear wife enjoyed my company. Isn't that right, Catherine?".

" Don't listen to him dear, he wants to rile you up. Don't give him that satisfaction," Catherine said with a voice which was gentle and heart-warming

Following Catherine's attempt to soothe her husband which failed poorly, Claude was unable to hold back his blood lust which leaked out creating a domain which projected an illusion of devils being burned whilst their wounds were restored. Going back and forth.

Ignoring Claude's change in aura, Defoe continued speaking to Catherine." Dear, you break my heart to a million pieces, comforting another man in my presence." Defoe spoke, which would have sounded romantic if not for his husky voice ruining it.

"Shut up, Mikaboshi."
