Synopsis
Life is unfair. That's something I figured out when I was young. It's not just life but the world itself is unfair. I was an orphan who joined a game design company trying to survive. But I was fired when the owner's son wanted the damn job. Thankfully I had backup plans. However, all those were thrown out the window when I was thrust into the world of one of the stories I created. My first story. And honestly, I felt...happy. This was a place where I could take advantage of everything! I could live a peaceful yet rich life! All I had to do was follow the story. There was one problem though. I was an extra. And to add to that I had no memory of who I was. ___________ Ok so just a little disclaimer this is obviously based on The Author's POV but I did also base it mostly on ORV as well as IOAMI

Chapter 1 - Prologue

Life is unfair.

That's what I found out when I was young. There were no heroes, no villains, the world ran on power. If you had power then you'd could do anything.

I mean take a person drunk driving.

Let's say one person was the son of a police chief or a highly influential figure. What do you think is going to happen? They wouldn't face any consequences.

But if a normal person were to drink and drive?

Straight to prison.

Then there is the matter of god.

You'll hear -God is almighty, God is all loving, God is all forgiving and finally God is Fair.

God is fair?

Tell that to the starving children, tell that to the people who need to survive wars in their countries while others live in luxury.

Tell me, what extacly is fair about that?

Growing up I personally saw this unfairness.

For example on Christmas.

I would walk around in the cold observing the snow and all the bright lights. There were many happy families walking around getting presents. They could share joy with each other…something I couldn't have.

I never knew my parents. From what I could infer I was left at the doors of the orphanage and it was really the only place I knew. No one wanted to adopt me so I stayed there until I graduated and went to a third-rate college. Thankfully I was able to get a job

It was a good job too, working as a game developer. However, despite being worked to the bone I could live peacefully.

But I knew this couldn't last long.

"I'm definitely getting fired," Exhaling the smoke from my lungs I put out the cigarette on the ashtray.

My colleague next to me who was also smoking nodded "Yeah but hey at least you knew and weren't blindsided like Phill,"

I sighed "You're right but in fairness we warned him,"

"True,"

"Welp I'm gonna hand in my 2-week notice," I waved toward him while I entered the building. Quickly making it to my office I grabbed a letter and went toward my manager's office.

Knocking on the door I heard him grunt telling me to come in. When he saw me he scowled making it a comical scene as he looked like a tode.

Putting the letter on his desk I told him what it was "This is my 2-week notice sir,"

"WHAT!?"

Ignoring the yell I repeated the statement causing him to lecture me on why I should consider the company as "Family".

Bowing I simply made my way out. It wasn't surprising that he was pissed. We were working on a big project and I knew once we were finished that I would be fired so he could hire his nephew. I knew because the dumbass forgot to close his computer allowing all of us to see that most of us were going to be fired. So we quickly looked for new jobs and pushed the deadline back.

After finishing my work I decided to head home despite my colleague's pleas for me to join them for a drink.

Once I made it to my apartment I opened the door and laid on my bed. Opening my phone I then opened an app I liked.

It was where I could read web novels. It was something I found after I explored the library computers in the public library. Thanks to that I was able to learn about the world of webnovels. One day I decided to write my own story. It was based on my favourite novel on the app so I started to make the world.

It was my first story and people seemed to like it. However, it was thanks to it I was able to survive high school as I was able to make some money.

I called it [Spearman's Legacy]

The story follows a boy by the name of Isaac Prescott a spearman. Like any cliche protagonist, both his parents were dead leaving him in the care of his sister. His father was a descendant from a family of great spearmen and Issac seemed to have found this technique in his father's study.

After making money as a mercenary he meets his teacher who gets him into one of the big academies.

Of course, there was a plot about another race conquering worlds.

At first, I wanted him to be all alone. However, I felt that would mirror my reality too much which is why I gave him a family member.

I sighed as I remembered the story

-Ding

'Hm?'

Hearing my doorbell ring I was confused.

"Who is that?"

While I did have friends at work none of them knew where I lived and well I didn't have any relatives. When I opened the door I didn't see anyone but instead, there was a package. Tilting my head I looked around to see if there was anyone there but no one seemed to be around.

With confusion, I brought it inside and tried to see if there was any sort of identification on it. But I didn't see it.

It was like someone just got a box and then taped it up.

When I opened it there was just a single book in there. Confusion filled me as I looked at the book. I picked it up and flipped through it.

There were many words on it causing me to read them unconsciously.

"The hell?"

Flipping to the beginning I brought out my phone.

"Is this a fanfic?"

The book was similar to my novel [Spearman's Legacy]. No, rather it was literally the novel from a different point of view.

The point of view of Arthur Irwin.

Who the hell was Arthur Irwin?

Nevermind that how the hell do they know where I live? I mean barely anyone knows my address let alone that I wrote a webnovel.

However, before I could think of anything else I felt dizzy. I grabbed the table for balance but my vision started to turn black.

I then collapsed.

"Argh," a painful headache hit me and I grabbed it to try and stop it.

But when I got up I realized that I wasn't in my apartment. I was in what seemed to be a bathroom.

"How the hell did I get here?" as I was confused something appeared in front of me making me flinch. But when I looked at it my eyes widened.

The mirror had reflected a boy with wavy ebony hair and grey eyes. He would best be described as handsome and probably would've been a successful model. But that face was me.

Suddenly I jumped back as a weird window appeared in front of me.

"Arthur Irwin? Wait don't tell me…" I looked through my memories to see that they were infused with mine.

"I'm actually him,"

Grabbing my head I thought about what happened before I collapsed. From what I remember I got back from giving my 2-weeks notice and then… "Right! There was that book!"

However, my face scrunched up "but that's it,"

I tried to figure out what happened "Well it's safe to say I didn't die, I mean I was healthy"

But as I tried to figure out what happened, I was still looking for a solution. I didn't think I could go back to my old world. And honestly, if this was the novel I wouldn't mind staying here.

However, as I continued to think one question kept repeating.

Who sent that book? But honestly, I had no way of figuring that out.

I wasn't exactly in my original world now was I? Also, I didn't see the book meaning it didn't come with me through my transmigration.

Splashing water onto my face I tried to calm myself down. I went through my memories again and tried to think about my future steps.

However, I was dragged out of my thoughts due to a voice.

"Hey Arthur are you almost done in there?" startled I jumped but I let out a breath "Ah yea sorry,"

Exiting the washroom I saw a child that seemed to be 10 or 11 quickly enter when I left. Walking down the hallways of the orphanage I started to continue thinking.

"Well if I really am in the novel then I should get stronger," muttering to myself I looked around the area and went through my memories to find my room. Well, to call it my room is a bit of an exaggeration as I was sharing it with around 5 other boys.

Despite that, I found this orphanage to be quite nice.

As I continued to go through my memories a frown etched itself on my face. There was a large gap in my memories. I know some people don't remember much from their childhood however, all I remember is when I got to this orphanage when I was 14 and before that, it was just a blank slate.

I don't think you'd just forget 14 years of your childhood. And considering I had arrived at this orphanage when I was 14 I probably was apart of an accident or something that killed my parents.

But I decided to think about that later. Right now what I need to focus on was getting stronger.

"I guess I should get a few items,"

I then started to write my plan.
