"Hmm? Yeah, sure, what is it, Mom?" Asked Pharoah with a raised eyebrow as he looked at Hana.
Mom didn't explicitly respond to my question; instead, she stood up and walked to the front door while I followed her as we exited the house and stepped out into the chilly night of Kansas.
"Yo, where we going, Mom?" Asked Pharaoh curiously as he glanced at Mom, who didn't respond and only continued to walk silently.
Seeing how Mom wasn't responding to my questions at all, I just decided to stay quiet while following behind her as we walked across a dirt trail, which just so happened to lead right past the stone well that the little girl had emerged from. Stopping, I peered over the edge of the well, yet, other than crystal clear water, I found nothing suspicious about the well, which caused me to sigh in relief as I quickly caught back up to Mom in the distance.
As we continued walking, I spotted our destination; I mean, the dirt trail spilled off into three paths, so I didn't know where we were going for sure, and only now did I realize it: we were heading to the barn that houses my spaceship.
'Hmm, wonder if she will tell me about my alien heritage or something? Heh, should I play a little prank on her?' Mused Pharaoh with a mischievous smirk as he rubbed his hands like a nefarious villain.
Playing the part of an unsuspecting son, when we arrived at the barn, I asked about it as I'd never been this close to this specific barn, but, like the previous two times, Mom didn't respond and just started unlocking the sliding wooden doors.
"Tell me, Pharaoh, have you ever wondered why you are the way you are?" Asked Hana softly as she turned and looked at Pharaoh while holding the handles to the barn doors.
"I mean, no, not really; I've always just assumed I'm a mutant or whatever." Replied Pharaoh with a raised eyebrow before shaking his head.
"You've visited Professor X's school, a place full of mutants, yet have you ever encountered someone similar to you? Someone who has so many different abilities: flight, ice breath, heat vision, super senses, super straight, super speed, that aura ability, the ability to surive in the literal vacuum of space. Have you ever met anyone with so many different powers or abilities, such as yourself?" Remarked Hana seriously as she gazed at Pharaoh with furrowed brows.
"Well, I'm friends with Rogue, and she can absorb the power of anyone she touches, so…" Said Pharaoh lightly as he rubbed his head, only for Hana to dryly stare at him while her face twitched.
"N-No. I've never met anyone like me. Though, why are you suddenly bringing this topic up, Mom?" Added Pharaoh with an awkward cough as he shook his head before giving Hana a curious look, prompting her to turn around.
"Haa, because of this." Said Hana as she took a deep breath before opening the barn doors, revealing dust, darkness, and stink inside, though none of that proved to be a problem for Pharaoh.
Looking inside, hidden underneath stacks of hay bales and a tarp was my space pod; following Mom, I closed the doors behind me while she turned on the lights, which surprisingly still worked.
"So, um, do these hay bales have something to do with my various powers or…" Asked Pharaoh as he looked at Hana, who sighed while shaking her head.
"No, Pharaoh, it's hidden underneath the hay bales; help me remove them." Stated Hana as she walked forward and grabbed a hale bale, only to struggle for several seconds to move it, though, in the end, she only managed to budge it.
"You mean you want me to move them, Mom?" Remarked Pharaoh lightly with a faint smirk as he easily picked up the hay bales before tossing them into the distance, causing Hana to roll her eyes.
Once all of the hay bales were out of the way, the only thing hiding the space pod was a thick tarp that Mom grabbed before I did before easily tossing it off, revealing a sleek, silver space pod with an S on the front.
"What the heck is this? This shit looks super advanced." Said Pharaoh curiously as he glided his hands across the space pod, only for his hand to rub atop a hole.
Feeling the sudden hole, I stopped and looked at it, though, from the way it was shaped, it didn't look like a normal hole; it looked like it was supposed to be there.
'Almost like a keyhole.' Mused Pharaoh as he inspected the hole before turning and looking at Hana, who was gently caressing the space pod.
"This right here is a space pod, Pharaoh." Replied Hana softly with a lovely yet complicated expression as she gazed at Pharaoh while slowly approaching him.
"Space pod? Do you mean like an alien Space pod? Are you an Alien, Mom? That would make sense why you can't have a child, different species and all that." Remarked Pharaoh with wide eyes as he looked at Hana before thoughtfully rubbing his chin while she just lightly shook her head.
"No, and you already know why I can't get pregnant; my eggs are infertile; that's why James and I adopted you." Said Hana as she grabbed Pharaoh's hand, tenderly holding it within her own while Pharoah furrowed his brows.
"You know, a lot of times, I end up forgetting I was even adopted." Replied Pharaoh, his words causing Hana to smile as she looked up at his bright, purple eyes.
"That's probably the greatest complaint someone like me could ever receive; however, Pharaoh, your adoption wasn't normal. James and I didn't go to an adoption center; we actually found you, and although I was a little hesitant at first, we eventually ended up taking you back home." Said Hana with a blissful smile as she placed her hand against Pharaoh's cheek, gently rubbing it while looking up at him.
"Found me? Where did you find me?" Questioned Pharoah with a raised eyebrow, behaving like any curious teen, while Hana turned back around at his inquiry.
"James and I found you in the crater, in the destroyed field, specifically in this space pod. When we found you, you slept peacefully while this black object lay beside you." Replied Hana gently with a slightly worried expression as she reached into her pocket, revealing a small black object before handing it to Pharaoh.
Grabbing the small black object out from Mom's hand, I intently looked at it, and although it was my first time ever holding it, it wasn't my first time seeing it; I've got memories of this from my past life, so I know what this.
"Kryptonian command key." Muttered Pharaoh as he inspected every detail before glancing back at Hana.
"If you're saying you found me in a space pod, then am I an alien? If I'm an alien, why do I look so much like a human? That doesn't make much sense." Remarked Pharaoh with a slight frown as he eyed Hana, who sighed before shaking her head.
"Yes, you're an alien, Pharaoh, though I can't answer your second question." Said Hana with a nod as she looked up at Pharaoh, whose frown only deepened.
"Why did you only tell me this now? I feel like this would've been useful information for me to know several years ago." Asked Pharaoh as Hana squeezed her hands, holding his, trying to transfer her emotions to him.
"Because James and I didn't know how that would affect you; besides, we didn't want you thinking that just because you're an alien, that means you're any less our son. You'll always be our son, Pharoah." Stated Hana seriously as she looked up at Pharaoh before embracing him in a tight hug, refusing to let go.
"Hmm, I see." Muttered Pharaoh lightly, only for his facial expression to suddenly vanish as he dropped the command key onto the ground and motionlessly stood there while Hana hugged him, though she eventually noticed his abnormality.
"P-Pharoah? Is everything the matter?" Asked Hana in concern as she released Pharaoh from the hug, only for him to snap his eyes at her immediately.
"You've found out our plan, Hana Kent. You shall now become one of us." Said Pharaoh in a nasally, high-pitched alien voice as he grasped Hana's shoulders and helped her down, slightly freaking her out.
"P-Pharaoh, what are you doing? C-Can you let me go? It's starting to hurt?" Asked Hana nervously as she looked at Pharaoh's expressionless face, trying to shake out of his grasp while he leaned down closer to her.
"Commencing operation. You shall now join us, Hana Kent, as we take over this world and expand our ever-growing empire. Now, allow me to plant my seed inside of you." Remarked Pharaoh in the same nasally, high-pitched alien voice as his face inched closer to Hana's, only for him to suddenly freeze and hang his head.
"Haa, what the fuck is wrong with me? I should've stuck with my gut and said egg, not seed." Muttered Pharaoh as he hung his head down in defeat, shame, and embarrassment at uttering those words to Hana while releasing his hold on her.
"The hell was all that about, Pharaoh!?" Exclaimed Hana angrily as she rubbed her shoulders before slapping his head, only to wince in pain afterward.
"Umm, I-I was planning to plant my see- EGGS inside of you, as the aliens do; you know what I'm talking about, right? From the History Channel? The one with Arnold Schwarzenegger?" Said Pharaoh lightly as he awkwardly avoided eye contact, too ashamed of himself considering what had occurred a few days ago.
