Chapter 47 - Chapter 46: Intermission For a Phone Call

Ignoring the bright as-day gay guy, now I had no problems with gay people; I cared as much about a gay person as I did a straight person, but what I didn't like was the fact that the dude sending me suggestive looks seemed to be seventeen or sixteen, while I was merely twelve-years-old. I know it's only like a four or five-year age difference, pretty much the same difference as Sara, but when you're as young as us, five years is a lot; like, in five years, I'm going to be very different appearance-wise and mentally.

But anyways, I'm getting vastly off track; approaching the seventh stone, I looked behind it and saw only two larger stones; though, beyond those two, and behind a dirt wall, there was a tenth stone, which was twice the size of the ninth stone, and if size relates to the weight of the stone, then that stone is going to fucking heavy. Doing the same thing I've done with the previous six stones, I stabbed my fingers into the stone, which might as well be a boulder, and lifted it into the air, causing people to shout in joy while others released depressed sighs of defeat.

"So, seeing as I've lifted the seventh stone, would that make me the strongest person in this school?" Asked Pharaoh both in curiosity and to show off as he looked at Jarlone, who shook his head.

"You're the most physically powerful person to ever visit this place; I can't speak for everyone here. By the way, the sixth stone you lifted was about 100,000 pounds, and the one you're lifting is, a whopping 300,000 pounds." Said Jarlone as he looked at his notebook before looking at Pharaoh, his face twitching as he saw him toying with the stone in his hands.

"Eh, that heavy? No wonder I felt myself sink a little into the ground; 300,000 pounds would do that." Remarked Pharaoh with a nod as he held the stone and looked at the ground, directly at his feet, noticing his shoes had sunken a few inches into the dirt.

'Dammit, I'm going to get my Jordans dirty. Mom paid 120 dollars for these.' Thought Pharaoh with a slight frown as he looked at his scuffed shoes, already irritated.

Grumbling to myself at the fact that I'd need to clean my shoes, I gently placed the seventh stone back in its divot before carefully removing my shoes from the ground, which required much more force than I'd liked. Walking to the eighth stone, just as I was about to quickly lift it, Jarlone yelled out, stopping me.

"Yo, big man, wait a quick second; I need to make a call!" Yelled Jarlone, causing everyone to look at him in annoyance.

"Really? Right now, Jarlone, Tut's about to lift the seventh stone; I've never seen anyone move the seventh stone, let alone lift it!" Said Rogue with a frown as she glared at Jarlone alongside Jean and the numerous spectators, causing him to gulp nervously.

"Yo, chill, everyone; I'm just calling Cassidy, the person who started this whole thing. I oversee everything here as she's too lazy to do so, but she told me to call her if anyone ever manages to lift the seventh stone, and although he hasn't, I'd bet my life he will be able to. So, can we just wait, like, ten or so minutes until Cassidy arrives?" Stated Jarlone defensively with a wry smile as he waved his hands in the air while slowly backing to the water behind in the distance, though seeing how no one stopped him, he sighed in relief.

"I promise, 10 minutes, so just chill right there until Cassidy arrives." Added Jarlone as he opened the ceiling above him and created dirt steps, which he used to exit the underground while pulling out his flip phone.

Seeing Jarlone leave, I released my hand from the stone and walked back to Jean and Rogue, or I at least tried to, but I was quickly surrounded by the numerous kids, who all bombarded me with question after question.

"What's your name? How old are you? Is your mutant ability really just ridiculous super strength? Are you single? Is that cutie beside Rogue single? I've never seen you before, you a student?" Asked the numerous kids as they surrounded Pharaoh, and although he could force his way through, he wasn't trying to hurt anyone.

"Pharaoh Kent. I'm 12. I'm not a mutant. I'm 12, of course, I'm single. Tch, yes, she's also 12; of course Jean is single. No, I'm not a student; I'm just a guest with my mutant friend, Jean." Replied Pharaoh calmly before frowning in the middle as he glared at the gay dude from before and a kid his age, who was eyeing Jean while rubbing his hands.

"Now, if you'll excuse me, people, I'd like to get through!" Added Pahraoh in slight annoyance as he squeezed his way through the crowd before finally exiting and wrapping his arm around the shoulder of the person who was looking at Jean.

"Ay man, I don't mind if you're interested in Jean, but you and she are only 12; wait a few years before doing anything, you hear? Because while I may not stay with Jean if she decides to attend this school, so long as I'm in New York, I'll be able to hear her and you. Understand what I'm getting at sunglasses?" Said Pharaoh calmly with a slight smile as he squeezed his arms around the kid while looking through his weird sunglasses and staring into his glowing red eyes.

"Y-Yeah, I understand." Replied sunglasses as he nervously nodded while holding back his winces of pain, his words causing Pharaoh to release him and softly pat his back.

"If you understand, that's all fine with me; I'm not her boyfriend, and I'm not interested in her like that, so you don't have to worry about me stealing Jean." Remarked Pharaoh with a slight smirk as he looked at sunglasses before walking toward Jean and Rogue, though one of them thought it would be funny to jump at him.

Catching Rogue before she could collide with my face, I held her in the air by the back of her collar and just looked at her, though all I got was a large smile, causing me to shake my head as I softly placed her on the ground.

"Hehe, so what were you talking about with Scott? Was it something regarding Jean? I kept seeing him looking at her." Asked Rogue with a mischievous smile as she glanced at Scott in the distance, looking at Jean before she looked back at Tut, who seemed slightly confused.

"Scott? Who's that?" Questioned Pharaoh with a slight tilt of his head as he approached Jean and sat on the ground beside her.

"The guy you were just walking to, silly, he's Scott, and he can shoot these super cool beams from his eyes; that's why he's got to wear those cool sunglasses." Said Rogue enthusiastically, like always, as she sat beside Pharaoh while Jean and him both gave Rogue a weird look.

"Cool? They look kinda weird." Said Jean softly as she sat on the other side of Pharaoh and glanced at Scott, who quickly looked away with a slight blush.

"Yeah, I agree with Jean; they're kinda stupid looking; it looks like he's about to scan something and download it to his brain. I know it's to help him control his powers, but c'mon, he couldn't choose a different style or something?" Remarked Pharaoh with a raised eyebrow as he reached forward and started untieing his shoes while dusting off any dirt.

"Bebop bep bop; scanning complete." Added Pharaoh with an expressionless face and a monotone voice as he imitated a robot, causing both Jean and Rogue to laugh.

"Haha, stop being so mean, Tut, he's not a robot." Said Jean with a large smile as she knocked Pharaoh in the head, though she might as well have been hitting a steel block.

"Yeah, listen to Jean, Tut; he's not a robot; at least robots aren't annoying." Remarked Rogue with a slight pout as she eyed Tut, though her words caused both Jean and him to burst into laughter.

"Hahaha, you're telling me to calm down, but you didn't need to roast him like Rogue; that was so unnecessary!" Said Pharaoh with a grin as he lightly pushed Rogue, who was also laughing.

"Hehe, but it was funny!" Replied Rogue with a smirk as she quickly stood up and pointed at Tut before running off into the distance, causing Jean and him to shake their heads.

"Rogue's so energetic, can't stay sitting for more than a minute." Remarked Jean lightly with a slight chuckle as she saw Rogue eagerly speaking with a bunch of other people, including Scott.

"True, but I like that about her; that's what makes her so fun and loveable. It reminds me of a certain person when they were younger." Replied Pharaoh with a slight smirk as he glanced at Rogue before looking at Jean, who tilted her head in confusion.

"Who? I've known you nearly all my life, whose this friend you're t- it's me, isn't it?" Asked Jean curiously, looking at Pharaoh as he placed his shoes and socks to his right before freezing and blankly staring at him.

"Heh, yeap; not only were you so energetic when you were a child, but you were also much cuter; now you're just, meh." Said Pharaoh with a mischievous grin while nodding as he lay on the dirt ground, looking right at Jean.

"Tch, I'm still just as cute; I get compliments from boys all the time; I've never seen you get compliments from a girl. So, who is really cute, then?" Remarked Jean in slight anger as she lay beside Tut and eyed him, who frowned before sighing and shaking his head, though she couldn't ask since he replied back.

"Hmm, you sure about that, Jean? You may get boys complimenting you, but I can hear everything, including all the times the girls have ranked me as the 3rd cutest guy in middle school while you're only the 5th cutest girl; Gwen is 4th." Declared Pharaoh with a triumphant smile as he eyed Jean, who opened her mouth, though she only huffed in annoyance.

"Hmph, who even makes these rankings?"

"Just a bunch of weirdos."

"Yeah, you're probably right."

Pharaoh really just gave Scott the little bro treatment; now, if that were me, I wouldn't let that slide. I'm just saying; no one about to talk to me like I'm a little kid.
