Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: National Crisis

*Republic of Zenith, Valentine's Day. A few minutes after Gizon's resurrection. Somewhere in the capital, a young boy with a frail body stood in front of a shop window. This boy was none other than the Phoenix Lord, who had just been resurrected at the national cemetery of Kingstone. He was astonished by everything around him—the towering buildings made of stone, stone roads, and people dressed in an unfamiliar style. Standing in front of the window, he observed the body in which he had been brought back. A young boy with brown hair, a face exuding confidence rather than fear; it wasn't the typical appearance of a child struck by poverty and hunger, but someone who had led a stable and decent life.*

-You my boy really have a weak body. I give you a day in Malakye, and you're done.

*A screeching sound of tires echoed, and a car screeched to a halt right in front of what seemed to be a child. Gizon, however, looked at the vehicle with fascination.*

-Damn, you reckless idiot. Can't you see you're on the road?

-Fascinating. *He said admiringly.* This carriage has no horses pulling it.

-Hey kid, you're blocking the way, can't you see?

*He grabbed the boy by the collar, but the boy simply moved his hand aside. Gizon then ripped off the car's hood to the owner's surprise.*

-Oh... Oh my god, are you a psyker?

*Gizon then lifted the vehicle and spun it around.*

-Hm, it must weigh at least a ton. How can something like this move? Rhadim would have explained it to me. Come to think of it, did he mention something like this before?

-Hey kid, you've got a nice steed there. *He said with a mature voice.* Could you kindly direct me to Malakye or, better yet, take me to the Olsen Mansion?

-The... The Olsen Mansion?

-Yeah, since I seem super famous, it's better to ask. Drive me there instead.

*The man raised an eyebrow.*

-The... The Olsen Mansion?

*Elsewhere in the capital, in a massive building towering over others, panic ensued. The building belonged to the PNA, the national agency responsible for psykers. They assigned missions and contracts to psykers and were also responsible for preventing demonic attacks. Inside their crisis room, screens were lit up with red dots all over the map of the territory and even beyond, into neighboring countries.*

-Darn it, what is this? *The person in charge shouted.* What's happening? We've never had so many alerts in a single day.

-Sir, we report a breach at the TanesGate penitentiary.

-What? There too? At this rate, the military will intervene, and the situation will spiral out of control. Make a general call. Mobilize all psykers, even those on leave; we're facing a widespread crisis.

*Meanwhile, in the southern skies of Zenith, a private jet pierced through the clouds. Onboard was a man in his thirties, with ash-gray hair, wearing a dark blue suit and a scarf around his neck. He had leather gloves on his hands and was reading a paper newspaper. As he immersed himself in reading, a young woman in office attire, who seemed to be his secretary, brought him a phone on a tray. He took it and put it to his ear.*

-Yes. Yes, I understand. Yes, I'll take care of this issue.

*He hung up and, as he put down the phone, he saw a suitcase in front of him. Opening it, he put on a pair of leather gloves found inside. Then he headed towards the door.*

-Are you sure you're going? You don't have your armor or equipment.

*He replied simply.*

-It's to level the playing field. Pick me up in an hour.

-Understood. Take care, Lord Gaiwan.

*He leaped out of the cabin, enveloped in a red halo, and flew at sonic speed towards the TanesGate penitentiary. Meanwhile, in the East of the country, in a mountain chalet, a woman was doing a handstand on her finger when her phone rang. She was tanned with black hair cut short and a shark tattoo along her left arm. She wore green hunting pants and a sports top. When the ringtone echoed, she bent forward and answered with her toes.*

-Hello? Beth, are you there?

-Here, Kalinsky. *She said calmly.* Since when do you call me so late at night?

-What... You haven't seen the pillar of light? Don't tell me you were asleep.

-Achy, tell me what you want, or I'll hang up.

-A horde of gray wolves is heading towards your city.

-What are you talking about? Gray wolves don't move in hordes. And I'm not in the city; I'm in Urd's chalet in the mountains.

-In the chalet. That's perfect. Could you intercept them? Hold them off until the military intervenes?

-Hold them off. I'm on vacation.

-I'll give you a bonus. A rocket is sending your weapon right now.

*She saw a gleam in the sky, and a massive black crate crashed into her garden. Beth leaped onto the crate and pulled out an enormous axe, wielding it with ease.*

-Damn, I forgot to ask how many gray wolves. Haaa, the night is going to be long. *She sighed.*

*Elsewhere in a downtown building, a group of PNA agents followed a man through the corridors. The man had an oriental look, appeared quite young, in his twenties, and wore a golden-colored suit, including his earrings and bracelets. His eyes were deep black, and his brown irises resembled the earth. Brown earth skin and His hair was short but curly.*

-Please, understand; we're really in a hurry.

-You're always in a hurry.

-No, no, this time it's urgent. If we don't do something, the entire country will be engulfed.

-Each time, you claim the country is at risk, blah, blah, it's annoying. *He said bored.* Listen, I have an interview to give, and I'm on vacation. I refuse to cut into my free time to satisfy your whims.

-Th-this one is really making a fuss. *an agent thought.*

-Azhir, you're the only Omega-ranked Psyker in the area. If you don't do something...

-Good day, gentlemen.

*He slammed the door shut as he entered the national television studios, where he was greeted by a horde of groupies and fans. The PNA agent sighed in despair.*

-We're doomed.

*Indeed, panic spread inland. Shortly after the appearance of these pillars of light, demonic creatures from the entire kingdom suddenly went into action, attacking everywhere. This phenomenon had never occurred before and caught everyone off guard. The media had not yet covered the event.*

-Unforgivable. *Lord Gawain said, flying over a burning village.* I'll Burn them all.

*While large cities were well defended, smaller towns were exposed, not to mention cities without any hunters. Some isolated and poorly organized hunters threw themselves into battle, thinking they were dealing with regular packs. However, they were massacred by demonic creatures without any effort. Some, nevertheless, managed to control the situation.*

-Hey, when will the chair force coming? I'm getting tired over here..... I thought I had killed half of them, but it's endless. *Beth yell on her radio.*

*But the worst was yet to come because a blue signal, not red, began flashing on the PNA monitor. Seeing this, Achy, the coordination person, dropped his phone.*

-By all the saints....

*The entire center, fully on alert, suddenly went silent, as if witnessing a funeral.*

-We... We're all going to die, right? *An operator said.* There's no chance this is real. Hey, sir, are the machines malfunctioning?

-Call the military. *He said calmly.* No, call the president.

-Why, sir?

-To inform him that the blue demon has been unleashed. A Kalibur Tactical strike will buy us some time.

*At the same time, one of the operators in front of her monitor held her phoenix medallion in her hands and began to pray.*

-Lord Gizon, protect us.

-We could really use it, yes. *The chief said sarcastically.*

*Suddenly, a new alert sounded on the monitor.*

-WHAT NOW? *Achy shouted.*

-Sir... Sir. The Kobold horde approaching from the North has been annihilated.

-What... Annihilated? Just like that? We're talking about a horde, not a pack.

-Sir, there's a heat source detected. *An assistant said.*

-A heat source? Where?

-At altitude, sir. Moving at Mach 5.

-Mach 5? Did the air force unveil their new prototype?

*Another point on the map disappeared, and then the source moved towards the nearest point, making the horde vanish.*

-But... But....

-What's happening?

*Suddenly, the phone rang, and Achy answered without even looking.*

-Director Donelly, can you explain why you're waking me up so late at night? *The president asked.*

*He said nothing and slowly hung up his phone as his eyes remained glued to the control screen.*

-Another superior demon eliminated, sir.

-Damn, the military has created a monster.

-Director. *An assistant said.* The military wants to know the name of the Psyker causing havoc on their psychic radars.

-Huh.... Isn't it one of their new planes?

-No, they say the object or thing is frying their equipment wherever it goes.

-Sir, he just wiped out nearly 30% of the demons on the map. I hate to be optimistic, but... we can do this.

-It's him. *The assistant said.* It's Lord Phoenix; he came to save us.

-Don't talk nonsense, Daniela. Lord Phoenix was powerful, but his power was greatly exaggerated. He would never be able to finish off so many hordes on his own.

*At the same time, the supposed Lord Phoenix appeared above the Gray Wolves. A red incandescent halo enveloped him, and he cast a meteor of flames at them. Psyker Bethsabée Kalinsky, who was present, widened her eyes at such a display of power. But more importantly, right in front of her.*

-Tell me I'm dreaming. *She said, breathless.* It's... Impossible.

*Gizon unfolded his wings of flames and flew off immediately. Back at the center, they couldn't believe their eyes.*

-What.... It's... It's a monster, I can only see that. *Achy thought.* A monster devouring others.

-Sir, sir. *Daniela exclaimed enthusiastically.* Lord Phoenix... I mean, the UFO is heading towards the blue energy source.

-What, is he going toward the blue demon? It's suicide, but what does he think he's doing? Not even hero Allen could beat it in time.

-I thought you didn't believe in legends. *The assistant said.*

-You, shut up. Who's the nearest hunter?

-Lord Gawain. And he's about 10 minutes away.

*At the same time, at the location of the supposed Blue Demon, the incandescent aura gleamed. In front of it stood an enormous monster, about 10 meters tall, with a dark blue shell and the rest of its body covered in grayish scales. Its head was smaller, but it had enormous horns and deep black eyes. As it had just razed the forest with its roar, it turned its head and saw Gizon, full of anger in his gaze.*

-You shouldn't have messed with the trees.

-Oh, shhhhhhht....*

*To be continued.*
