The head of the gargantuan demon broke through the roof of the shrine. Its feet destroyed the walls of the first floor, and its hands brought apart every piece of the building that was still standing. All of this was done as effortlessly as if the demon was merely shrugging off cobwebs.
It wasn't even scratched by all the rubble, despite every centimeter of its skin being covered in hundreds of various eyes. As soon as dust settled a little, each of them focused on a soldier, all of whom were struck frozen with fear.
Except for the several eyes that stared directly at Shin.
"You two did very well, Shin and Tetsu. I've been watching you closely," the all-eyed demon lord said. The sounds came from a large eye on its head, the pupil of which was surrounded by two rows of teeth. "You reached my highest expectations, and you deserve a reward."
