"Think, Ara-san. Think."
Jun closed his eyes shut. He was shaking.
"I really don't know! There's so much lies out there. All I know is that it must be related to transmigrators somehow. Demons say our souls are special somehow!"
Shin moved back a little. "Special?" Tetsu told him the same.
"Yes. Sarara-san, my first demon, said that my soul felt absolutely different from the souls of anyone else she ate in the past." Jun paused, sighing. "And Iashkawa-san swore that if he ate your soul, he'd increase his power even more. I think he was deluding himself…"
"I see," Shin muttered, stepping back from Jun. He was sure he told Shin everything he knew, which wasn't much, but enough to make theories.
'That "specialness"… Could this power be a resource of some sort that Aratanawaru exploits to do what he does? Giving power to Iashkawa, maybe it helped him bring Jun back to life, too. Does he need this power to ascend to true godhood?'
