Nobody's POV:
Despite the eerie silence of the city, the breeze was rustling leaves in the wind as the clock struck ten at night. On a nearby building, a group of crows were sleeping peacefully. Someone landed on the rooftop of the building, disrupting their slumber with a loud thud. Crows took flight in a flurry of feathers after being startled. As soon as the person landed on the roof, he ran to the other side and jumped to the next roof, disappearing into the darkness. Soon after, another individual landed on the rooftop and ran in the same direction as the first before jumping to a nearby rooftop. It was evident that the second person was chasing after the first, and the crows watched nervously from a safe distance, sensing that something dangerous was unfolding.
Theseus/Tommy POV:
My heart was pounding like a drum as my persistent pursuer closed in on me. I could feel the warmth of their breath on my neck, sending shivers down my spine, and my body was trembling with fear. "Well, this is just peachy," I muttered under my breath, my voice shaking. The beanstalk had chosen the worst possible moment to make his grand entrance, just when I was being chased through the labyrinth of the city's rooftops. I was frantically jumping from one rooftop to the next, my mind racing with thoughts of what would happen if I missed my footing and fell to my doom. The sky above me was turning a dark shade of blue, and the wind was getting stronger, making it even harder to maintain my balance. My face was drenched in sweat, and my legs were beginning to ache from the constant exertion. But I knew I had to keep going. I had to keep pushing myself to the limit if I wanted to survive.
Siren/Wilber POV:
The vigilante moved through the night like a shadow, their every move graceful and precise. I had been in pursuit for what felt like an eternity, leaping from one rooftop to the next in an attempt to catch up. Despite my best efforts, they remained just out of reach, taunting me with every step. Every time I thought I had them cornered, they slipped away like smoke, leaving nothing but the faintest hint of their scent in the air. The night air was chilly, and my breath came out in ragged puffs as I pushed myself to keep going. My muscles ached, and my heart pounded in my chest. But I couldn't give up. I had to catch them. As I closed in, I saw the vigilante's form silhouetted against the moonlit sky. They moved with such fluidity and grace that it was hard to believe they were even human. I pushed myself harder, determined to catch them and end this cat-and-mouse game once and for all.
Nobody's POV:
As Theseus made a break for it, Siren aggressively chased him down at full speed. With each step, he closed in on him, his hand outstretched to capture him. But just as he thought he had him in his grip, Theseus cunningly slipped away, leaving Siren grasping at thin air.
Theseus/Tommy POV:
As the hero chasing me missed, I turned around and saluted them. Afterward, I leaped off the roof and while falling, I quickly grabbed onto a windowsill to avoid detection from Siren, as it was out of his line of sight. Using the momentum from the grab, I propelled myself through the window of my apartment.
Siren/Wilber POV:
My heart pounding, I sprint towards the edge, the wind whipping through my hair and the sound of my breath echoing in my ears. My mind is a jumbled mess of emotions as I try to comprehend what might have driven Theseus to take such a reckless action. "Holy shit, what was he thinking?" I mutter to myself, feeling a mix of anger, worry, and confusion. As I reach the edge, the emptiness of the space only intensifies my sense of unease. There is no one there - nobody, no trace of a struggle, nothing but a vast open expanse.
Zephyrus/Philza POV:
"What's going on, Siren?" I ask urgently through the communication device, my voice laced with deep concern. His anxious tone has me on edge, and I'm desperate for answers. I can sense that something is wrong, and the silence on the other end is only making me more anxious. I try to keep my voice steady as I wait for a response, but my worry is starting to show. I need to know what's happened, and I need to know now. I press the communication device closer to my ear, trying to pick up any hint of what's going on. The silence on the other end is deafening, and my mind races with possibilities. Has there been an accident? Is he hurt? My heart beats faster in my chest, and I try to push away the worst-case scenarios that are swirling through my mind. Siren is one of my sons, and the thought of something happening to him is almost too much to bear. I take a deep breath and try to steady my nerves, but the fear is clawing at my insides, refusing to let go. Finally, after what feels like an eternity, I hear his voice on the other end, and I breathe a sigh of relief.
Siren/Wilber POV:
"I'm fine, but I'm really worried about Theseus. He's a vigilante who often takes matters into his own hands, and today he jumped off a roof. I heard a loud thud and rushed to the edge to see what happened, but he was nowhere to be seen. I called out his name, but there was no response. I'm concerned for his safety." I say with a mix of anger and worry.
Zephyrus/Philza POV:
During our conversation, I proposed an idea that had just occurred to me. "How about we search for Theseus with Blade tomorrow?" I suggested, my apprehension easing up after hearing Siren's voice on the other end of the line. As I waited for their response, I could almost feel the tension building up in my chest. But then, after a few moments of silence, Siren replied, their voice calm and reassuring, "Alright, that should work."
Nobody's POV:
The two individuals were deep in conversation, their voices hushed in an attempt to maintain their privacy. However, unbeknownst to them, a shadowy figure was lurking in the background, eavesdropping on their every word. This particular vigilante had a reputation for being cunning and resourceful, and as they listened to the conversation, their mind raced with possibilities. The duo had no idea that they were being observed, as the vigilante silently took note of every detail, analyzing and strategizing as they went. It was a tense moment, as the fate of those involved hung in the balance, all due to a seemingly insignificant conversation that was overheard by a vigilant outsider.
Theseus/Tommy POV:
As I closed the window, I felt a cool breeze brush against my face, a welcome relief from the stuffiness of my room. I peered out at the night sky, the stars twinkling like tiny diamonds against the dark canvas. As I gazed out, my thoughts drifted to the impending patrol that I had been dreading. Just then, I noticed a flicker of movement in the corner of my eye, and I quickly shut the window in a panic.
As I stood there, heart racing, I took a few deep breaths to calm myself down. I then turned to my dresser and began to rummage through my clothes, searching for my comfortable pajamas. As I changed into them, I felt a sense of relief wash over me knowing that my vigilante outfit was safely hidden under a loose floorboard.
With my attire changed, I set my alarm clock and crawled into bed, the soft blankets enveloping me in warmth. As I closed my eyes, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the peacefulness of the night, and I drifted off into a restful slumber.
