Chapter 3 - Chapter 3- Keep Your Voice Down

Tommy/Theseus POV:

As I walked towards the library that day, I felt a rush of excitement and eagerness in my heart. I was determined to make the most of my shift and provide the best possible service to the guests. Upon reaching the library, I noticed that the previous librarian was still occupied with some guests, so I patiently waited for my turn. I took this time to observe the library's surroundings, and I was struck by its beauty. The walls were lined with shelves of books, and the light that filtered through the windows cast a warm glow on everything it touched. I felt a sense of reverence wash over me as I gazed upon the library's grandeur.

Once I took over, I immediately got to work. I noticed that some of the guests had left the books in a disorganized manner, so I took it upon myself to put everything back in its proper place. I made sure to thoroughly check each book to ensure that it was properly checked in. As I worked, I felt a sense of pride in what I was doing. It was as if I was a guardian of knowledge, carefully tending to the library's treasures.

I couldn't help but appreciate the tranquil atmosphere of the library. The soft rustling of pages turning, the occasional whisper of a conversation, and the gentle tapping of keyboards all blended to create a soothing ambiance. It was a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of the outside world. I felt a sense of calm wash over me as I went about my duties, and I was grateful for the opportunity to work in such a peaceful environment.

As the morning progressed, I found myself with some free time between guests. During these moments, I picked up a manga book that had caught my eye earlier. The colorful illustrations and captivating storyline drew me in, and I soon found myself lost in its pages. Despite being engrossed in the book, I remained vigilant and kept an eye out for anyone who might need my assistance. It was a peaceful and productive morning at the library, and I felt fulfilled knowing that I had done my best to make the guests' experience a positive one.

As the end of my shift approached, I took a moment to reflect on the day's events. I had made a difference in the lives of the library's guests, even if it was just in a small way. I left the library feeling content and fulfilled, with a renewed appreciation for the power of books and the importance of preserving knowledge.

Philza/Zephyrus POV:

Our journey to the library was a challenging one, as Wilbur's ceaseless grip on his seating arrangement in the car threatened to disrupt our plans. However, I remained resolute in my focus on the task at hand, determined to navigate safely to our destination. Once we arrived, we were greeted with a sight that immediately captivated us - a young boy who seemed to be in his element, moving around the library with a sense of fluidity and ease that was truly remarkable. It was clear that he had a deep passion for books and the knowledge they contained, and I couldn't help but be impressed by his unwavering dedication to the pursuit of knowledge.

As Wilbur and Techno ventured off on their own, I found myself drawn to a section of the library that was dedicated to vigilantes and their history. The shelves were lined with books that explored the complex world of superheroes and their powers, and I couldn't resist the urge to learn more about our new friend and his mysterious past. As I delved deeper into the books, I began to realize that my search might be in vain. There was no mention of anyone with similar powers, and I began to wonder if I was reading too much into things.

Despite my initial disappointment, I couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the opportunity to explore the library and all it had to offer. The vast collection of books held endless possibilities for learning and discovery, and I knew that I had stumbled upon something truly special. The young boy we had encountered earlier was a testament to the library's spirit, his love for books and knowledge was infectious, and I found myself feeling inspired by his passion.

As I continued to wander through the library, I unexpectedly came across a book written by a vigilante that was unlike anything I had ever read before. The book was captivating, and it delved into the vigilante's remarkable life and the extraordinary experiences they had. I was so engrossed in the book that I barely noticed the time passing by. Eventually, I made my way towards the counter to borrow it. However, just before reaching the counter, I found Techno deeply engrossed in the section dedicated to battle techniques. He seemed lost in a world of his own, and I couldn't help but feel happy that he had found something that interested him as much as the book had interested me.

techno/Blade POV:

As I sat alone, lost in my thoughts, an eerie feeling crept up on me, making the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I turned my head to the right and saw my father sitting next to me, his gaze penetrating as he studied me closely. Feeling a bit unnerved, I asked him, "Dad, is there something on my face?"

He leaned in and whispered, "No, no, I wasn't staring at you. I was lost in thought. But let me ask you, do you happen to know where Wilbur is? I want all three of us to go up to the counter at different times to observe Tommy's behavior. He's been working here for hours now and I'm curious to know how differently he behaves than when he's at the coffee shop. I want to see if there's a difference in his demeanor in different settings."

The request made by my father piqued my interest, and I couldn't resist feeling intrigued by the tone of his voice. Our search for Wilbur led us to the section about explosives, where we found him engrossed in the intricate details of the subject matter. After a bit of struggling, we managed to coax him out of the section and carefully explained the plan to him. Together, we made our way to the counter where Tommy was at work, meticulously observing his every move. My father's eyes were fixated on Tommy's movements as he carefully jotted down notes and made mental observations. His attention to detail was impressive, and it was clear that he was taking this assessment of potential assistants seriously. As we continued to watch Tommy work, we were filled with a sense of anticipation and excitement about the potential outcomes of this assessment of potential assistants and who would be best suited for the job.

Nobody's POV:

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Tommy's long and tiring shift came to an end, and he eagerly made his way out of the building, ready to head home and unwind. The weight of the day's work slowly lifted off his shoulders as he stepped out into the fresh air, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. The anticipation of being able to relax and recharge in the comfort of his own home filled him with renewed energy, making the journey back seem shorter than it was.

As the clock ticked away, one hour after they departed from the bustling city, the three men made their way back to the house they shared. The weariness from their day's adventures was evident in their steps, yet a shared camaraderie and a sense of belonging propelled them forward. Each man carried with him the stories and experiences of the day, ready to share and relive them within the walls of their humble abode. The familiar sight of their home brought a comforting warmth to their hearts, reminding them that they were not just roommates, but a family bound by friendship and shared memories.
