She sat in tense silence, her jaw clenched, as Arian guided the SUV through the darkened streets, his eyes focused on the road. Uriel lounged in the passenger seat, an elbow propped on the window, his gaze fixed forward, a small, satisfied smirk pulling at the corner of his mouth and his pupil glancing at her ever so often via the rear view mirror. Beside her, Jamee stared out the opposite window, his expression unreadable, the faint light casting shadows under his eyes.
