Chapter 6 - Decisions and Life

Our flight landed in the afternoon. The business class experience made the trip quite comfortable. Although it wasn't my first time flying business class, it had been a long while.

Throughout the entire flight, Kana-san didn't speak to me. She didn't even glance in my direction. Not that it mattered much to me.

From her behavior, I thought she was giving me the silent treatment, but as soon as we exited the airport, she spoke in her usual cold voice, "Here, come with me."

She guided me through the streets, taking a few turns until we reached a quiet road where the same BMW cars from before were neatly lined up. That beautiful vintage model was also present in the middle.

While I admired the cars, Kana-san instructed me to enter the vintage one.

"Where are we going?" I asked, clueless about her plans.

"To the office," she replied without blinking.

"Huh? Where?" I think I misheard her.

"To the office."

No, I heard it right.

"But why? Why are you sending me directly into the battlefield when I haven't even started my training? I'll get caught on the first day."

Seriously, I don't know anything about him, his relationships, his business. How am I supposed to talk to them? Leave talking, how should I behave in front of them?

She said, "Don't worry too much. You don't have to do anything. Just show your face."

"What about my attire? My hairstyle? What will we do about them?"

She scanned me from head to toe. "No problem, as long as you're not nude."

Her answer made me shiver. "What does that mean!!?"

But she was in no mood to answer.

Although I was extremely skeptical about her plan, I couldn't complain any further. Akira had told me to listen to her and do as she said.

Well, it's not my business.

When we reached the office, I mentally prepared myself for my first acting job.

Hey, God, protect me from now on.

As we walked to the reception of this gigantic, luxurious building—one I could've only dreamed of entering—she continued lecturing me without a pause.

The current CEO of Suntech Ltd., Akira Miyamoto, handles the entire business but doesn't even own one percent of the company.

Huh? Seriously!?

Before I could ask any questions, we passed the reception, and suddenly I was the center of attention. Everyone who saw me immediately stopped working and came to greet me with a bow. The secretary quickly returned to her usual self, with a smile fixed on her face.

As we entered the lift, she spoke irritably, "Didn't I tell you not to lose that smile? What's with this awkward mannerism?"

A chill ran down my spine. Trembling, I dared to speak, "K-Ka-Kana-san. Can we talk without the gun in your hand?"

Oh no! She doesn't look very interested in my offer.

I screwed up badly. Hey, God! Please save me!

Ting!

The lift reached its destination, and we were met by a group of people who dared to enter while I was there—or rather, while their boss was there.

Kana-san quickly hid her gun before anyone saw it.

As we exited the lift, I followed her into Akira's cabin.

Glorious, resplendent, splendid, sublime—none of these words felt right for what was before my eyes. From the exquisite tiles to the magnificent antique paintings, everything seemed perfect. Even the dark wood chair looked fitting in this scene.

"Come quickly."

Still in awe, I followed her command.

I tried to avoid touching anything. Everything was so expensive. What if I accidentally broke something?

"Are you dumb, or do you just wish to die? I can fulfill your wish for a million or two."

"I don't have ten million yen yet!" I quickly interjected.

"So you really wish to die. And I'm talking about dollars, not yen, you idiot!"

"N-No-Non---Nooo... Please spare my life, secretary-sama."

"Kana-chan. Call me Kana-chan from now on."

Kana-chan. Te-hee-hee. Who uses "chan" for a monster?

I was in the full mood to laugh, but since I valued my life, I dared not slip.

"Now, listen. I'm going out for some time. Silently sit in that chair over there and shoo anyone who comes in. Don't mess things up anymore."

After threatening me, she stormed out of the cabin.

Like a good pet dog, I mentally tied myself to the chair.

This is already so scary! I wonder if I'll survive here for long. Why didn't I consider how rich he'd be if he could offer me a hundred million yen a month?

Also, Kana-san is terrifying! I've never met a girl so dangerous. Not that I've met anyone who carries three knives and a gun. Her acting skills are on par with legends. She's not someone to be messed with.

Standing up, I started moving around the cabin. It was intricately decorated with high-end furniture and artistic paintings—not much to my taste, and not the type of office you'd see in those office romance K-dramas.

It had an aura that reminded me of someone who looked just like me.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.

In utter confusion, I fumbled to the ground but quickly regained my composure and took the boss's seat.
