Roan took his loss in stride and walked ahead to hold open the door for Nova like he always did, only for her to step in front of him and open the passenger door instead.
He placed a hand on the door, intercepting her with a polite smile. "What do you think you're doing?"

Nova was startled by this but even more by Roan's proximity, "I… um- I…"
"I want you to sit beside me," He said directly, placing his much bigger hands over hers that was still placed on the door's handle.
Nova had no intention of turning him down but he didn't even give her a chance to, guiding her into the backseat after closing the passenger door. She had to take a few minutes to catch her breath, the back of her hand tingling with warmth.
