Mr. Reyes turned his focus to them at Henderson's response. "Why were the meals not getting to Nova?" He calmly repeated the question, staring right at them although everyone including Camilla didn't dare look him in the face.
Although her head was bent down and her eyes were fixed on the deep brown carpet, Camilla could feel the others' eyes on her, but because she couldn't see their expressions, she had no idea of what they were thinking.
She knew that she had lost their respect after betraying them but she never needed their respect, least of all right now when everything was going down the drain. They were never part of her grand scheme anyway and if she had accomplished her goal, the first thing she would have done would be to have them fired.
Although she had been very cooperative from the start, she had no intentions of confessing. There was no hope of lessening her guilt if she spoke, right now remaining silent was her best bet.
