"Sorry for the wait," Ilya said as she walked out of the Maid Cafe, wearing her casual attire.
A black dress with frills covered her thighs, complimenting her snow white skin. She was wearing black sandals that showed her seemingly delicate white feet. Ilya had a small bust size, but it increased the charm of her petite body type rather than decreased it, especially with her black hair freely flowing in her shoulders.
Ilya's black eyes darted to Killian, and at the same time, her ears twitched, seeing his image standing in front of him.
Killian had a relaxed expression on his face while standing. "I didn't wait that long."
On the other hand, Killian's eyes caught the gazes of the maids inside the cafe, their smiles visible while watching them.
Killian returned his attention to Ilya. "So, where do you want to go?"
"Honestly, I don't have a plan, but we can go to the park first and start from there," Ilya suggested.
Killian smiled. "Sure, we can do that."
Killian and Ilya walked towards the central park of the kingdom, where there was a massive grassland where people could hang out. Feeling the shades of the tall trees, the music of bards, and the beautiful view of the sky. And after some time, they decided to eat.
They ate street foods like grilled meat and cotton candy for dessert. Cotton candy was not also original in this world—it was introduced by the hero, Hikari.
"Let me pay now. I am the one who invited you," Ilya insisted as she held her purse.
"No, let me have this," Killian said as he handed over the payment for the cotton candy they were eating.
Ilya narrowed her eyes. "You are quite stubborn."
"I am getting a lot of that comment," Killian replied.
"But I heard you before being fine when that blonde lady paid for your food," Ilya commented.
"Her name is Catherine; she's a friend of mine." Killian raised his hand and patted Ilya's head, making her expression soft. "Also, this is a completely different situation. This is more about my pride, and what I did to Catherine is more about me being kind—well, sort of."
Killian walked away, leaving Ilya, touching the part of her head where Killian's hand was. Then, she followed Killian. The background of the slowly descending sun could be seen.
Killian and Ilya were seated on the bench where there were no people around and no eyes to notice them as they watched the scenery of the orange sky. Killian sat and stared at the scenery above. Ilya was seated beside him, enjoying the blue cotton candy in her hand.
"This is the best spot when you want to see the full view of the descending sun. There are no massive infrastructures to block the way, the mountains complementing the scenery, and the feeling of the dancing trees around you," Killian said with nostalgia in his voice.
Ilya watched Killian's face; every feature formed a single scenery that was more beautiful than the sky. "I told you that I would be the one touring you around, but it appears you are more familiar with this place than I am. And I have been living in this place for years. Aren't you from the town of Brookhaven?"
"I have been here before. I used to come here with my friends. That's why I am quite familiar," Killian said, staring at Ilya.
"Are they adventurers too, just like you?" Ilya asked, curiosity in her eyes.
Killian shook his head. "No. Back then, none of us were."
Ilya nodded and leaned back on the stone bench. "I heard being an adventurer is hard. Always put your life in danger just to receive rewards."
"Not really. The guild won't force you to fight monsters. If you will accept their offer, that's the only time you need to fight. Just like me, I am only getting non-combat-related quests, and I can live the way I want to without risking my life." Killian focused his eyes on the slowly darkening sky. "To be honest, I am not really a big fan of fighting. I only want to live my life the way I want to, doing things I like. But sometimes, responsibility requires me to, so I would."
"Like, what responsibilities?" Ilya asked.
"Saving the world," Killian said, looking at Ilya with a serious expression.
Ilya, who didn't realize how true Killian's words were, chuckled softly. "That was funny. You are so funny."
"I agree, that was funny," Killian said, and he put his hand on the armrest of the bench, cornering Ilya with his presence.
Ilya looked at Killian with a surprised expression, and her face immediately turned red. "Is... is there a problem, Killian?"
"I just noticed that you are not acting mean now," Killian said, his eyes focused on Ilya's face.
"You do realize that I was only playing a role back in the cafe, right?" Ilya asked, looking down. She couldn't fight against Killian's intense gaze.
"I do. But can you do it for me now?" Killian requested.
Ilya paused for a second. "Fine. But I am not doing this because I want to, only because I don't want you to end up begging. Jeez, you are so hopeless." Ilya looked up and found Killian watching her with a smile. "Don't look at me like that; it is embarrassing, you perverted young master."
Killian leaned into Ilya's face and gave her lips a gentle kiss. Upon feeling her soft lips, Killian gently moved his lips. On the other hand, Ilya just followed after Killian's lips, closing her eyes and showing no resistance.
Their kiss lasted for a few seconds, and the moment their lips separated, Ilya was left chasing her own breath, looking at Killian while her face was entirely red.
"You have just stolen my first kiss," Ilya said, her voice sounding more like a moan than a complaint. Before she knew it, her entire body was starting to get hot.
"I am sorry, I could not help; you were so cute I couldn't resist," Killian said, his piercing eyes watching Ilya's reaction.
"You silly," Ilya could only say.
"Anyway, it's already night. Maybe we can go somewhere we can continue our talk. Somewhere with only two of us, what do you think?" Killian asked, his hot and hypnotizing breath reaching Ilya, overtaking her senses.
Ilya slowly nodded. "Sure."
