Hearing the worried and frustrated tone in Mer Chu's voice, the elder monk smiled warmly.
"Child, we are human, and it's our nature to fall in love easily. Sometimes we call it by different names. When a child is born, the person who gave birth falls in love with it, and we call that Parental love. As we grow, we develop affection for certain animals..."
As the monk continued, Mer Chu's frustration mounted. Struggling to control it, he interrupted, his tone irritated,
"She is not my child or an animal. What I feel for her is different. I love her. I love her enough to do anything for her..."
Before he could finish, the monk interjected with a serious tone, though his smile remained, "And are you ready to die or even kill for her?"
Mer Chu stopped, the monk's words echoing in his mind. He looked at the elder, and soon a determined resolve filled his eyes.
Raising his head, he declared firmly, "I can do it."
