Tapping my pencil against the desk I started to think about this world. If there were indeed vampires, then werewolves and the like should exist, right? But then what about mages?
Could I have brought myself to the Harry Potter world? Unlikely, mages probably existed here way before. After all witch hunts, witchcraft or beliefs related to magic existed.
I sighed "I guess I'll figure it out when the time comes,"
I then looked around the classroom and to my surprise there were only around 8 including myself sitting at their desks. I wasn't exactly super surprised but was more taken aback.
'Guess the murders are really affecting them'
Honestly, I am more surprised that the school board didn't do this. But considering it was exam season and there was one exam left They probably wanted to get this over with and then have some of them rewrite it.
Yawning my eyes then made contact with a girl with ebony black hair. She was pretty and was wearing glasses.
Nodding toward her I simply then turned back to my phone.
'I wonder what is murdering the people'

On a building, Rolland swung his legs while enjoying his lunch.
*Buzz*
Feeling his phone vibrate he took it out and opened the text file sent to his phone. As he read through the file a frown appeared on his face before it turned into one of surprise.
"Wait but how does that make sense?"
The file he was reading was a file on the person he was investigating or rather wanted to enroll in Evergarden Academy.
The child's full name was Adrain Grenvil. The reason for his shock was due to his family name Grenvil.
In the world of magic, there were three great families of the magi world, Choitré, Ashborne, and Grenvil.
This was after the great demon war when the demons were created and started to cause chaos. The three families made major contributions in the war and were then granted the title of "Sovereign" which is one of the highest honors that can be granted by the Monarch of Arcane the strongest mage in the entire world.
"But what is a kid with such a prestigious background doing in such a backwater school and house like that?"
But as he kept reading he was able to figure it out, "Must've been due to his twin sister,"
But a grin appeared on his face "Well I guess this makes this way easier!"

After finishing the exam I made my way to the restaurant I applied at and met the owner again. All I had to do was review the rules and the 7 people I had to memorize. If I had to guess they were probably big shots of the vampire world.
"Excellent you seem to have a great understanding of the rules," praising me Anna then gave me an ID card of sorts "This will be your fake name,"
Grabbing it I looked at the name.
James Lockley.
'...could be worse,'
Thanking her I was told the time to come in and my uniform would be there too.
When I exited the restaurant I made my way into an alley before I teleported onto a building. Using wind magic I kept jumping over buildings and made it somewhere near an old delabited building. Looking around I found the building where the last murder took place. Around I saw many police cars and caution tape.
Using illusion magic to hide myself I made my way inside. Looking around the building I first noticed all the blood on the floor.
I then found a place where 2 cops were talking.
'hm, something's off,'
Looking at the giant blood stain on the floor I crouched down to touch it. But that's when I realized what that weird feeling was.
"Holy shit its Dark elemental energy. I then realized my mistake and looked at the officers who were looking around.
"You hear that?"
"Yeah,"
They then looked at their coffee cups "Maybe I should stop drinking coffee for a little bit"
I then teleported out of the building to my house. While teleportation magic is useful I could only teleport to places where I had been or I could see and have a ruff understanding of where it is.
"Now that I think about it could I teleport through pictures,"
I decided to put that theory in the back of my mind and focused on the big discovery I made.
As I have previously stated elemental energy encompasses all the elements even dark and light.
However, Dark elemental energy is very scarce. Unlike what you would expect if it were night it doesn't mean that dark elemental energy would just appear. No, the night isn't considered "true darkness" thus why only shadow elemental energy can be found.
However, there was one being in Arcadia who was able to use dark elemental energy like a limb and had an infinite supply too.
I closed my eyes as I remembered the conversation I had with a passing adventurer in Arcadia.
____
Looking at the fire I started to feel for the elemental energy around me. It was something I tried to do as I wanted to figure out how to combine both the elemental energy and mana.
Around me, the shadow elemental energy was the most due to it being dark. Creating a fireball in my hand I started to pour some shadow elemental energy into the fireball. A slight black tint started to envelop the fireball, however, then suddenly the fire got bigger causing me to cancel the spell.
Hearing a laugh I looked up to see the old man eating his dinner. Before I could complain a sudden thought struck me.
"Hey old man I was wondering…do you know someone who could manipulate the elemental energy of darkness?"
Looking at me he nodded "Indeed his name is Umbris and he is one of the strongest beings on the demonic continent.
I frowned "How does that make sense? Does the demonic continent have dark element energy?"
However, he shook his head "no,"
"Then how? Even demons have to refill their elemental energy tank!"
"Yes, however, he has an infinite amount," This caused me to choke on my jerky "Huh?"
Seeing my confusion he chuckled "I'll be honest not even the magic tower knows a lot about elemental energy that isn't some form of the four basic elements so take these with a grain of salt. From what I've heard he uses the impurities from his body as a fuel source,"
__
I was first skeptical about it however once I actually met him I knew he wasn't lying. Despite what I thought he wasn't lying. He was a monster, at first I thought he was a demon but he wasn't he was a human.
But I also figured out how he was able to have an infinite supply of Darkness elemental energy. He had an elemental core. They are like mana cores which knights use for aura however, instead of storing them, it creates elemental energy. To create an elemental core you would need a lot of elemental energy, an amount which was supposed to be impossible.
From what I figured out he was able to use the impurities from his body to create that darkness core.
Gazing at the many multi-coloured particles in my hand I froze.
"Well, that explains why there is barely any earth elemental energy,"
Creation elemental energy.
It was something that was theorized to exist. In Arcadia, those who didn't believe in a god assumed that the beginning of the universe was a single particle of Creation elemental energy. Through it, the entire universe was created and allowed the other forms of elemental energy to be created as well.
But I was confused "Why is creation elemental energy here? Shouldn't it be Earth?"
However, as I looked around the house I think I understood the gist of the situation.
"Is it because of the houses in the neighbourhood?" While it could make sense there was one problem to this theory. In Arcadia, I couldn't sense as much elemental energy from the villages or giant cities.
"ugh forget it," a strange gleam appeared in my eyes "Now let's see if I can create an elemental core,"
I mean how hard could it be?
***
"God Fucking Dammit!" getting up from the floor I started to stomp on the floor "Why the hell aren't the particles moving!?"
When I tried to move the creation elemental particles they weren't moving. However, when I tested it with the earth elemental particles and water elemental particles which I got from the washroom they moved by my will so why weren't they?
"ugh, here I thought I could get a power-up,"
If the creature that was killing the people was like Umbris then I was most likely screwed. When I was an 8th circle mage I fought Umbris to see how strong I was. While I had barely won by the skin of my teeth it was due to both luck and my magic circle advantage.
"I guess I should make a contract with a spirit," Heading upstairs toward my kitchen "I should get some water,"
"Here you go,"
"Thank you," Grabbing the cup of water from his hands I was going to drink it before I stared back at the man inside my house.
"Hello,"
"Who the fuck are you!?"
