Chapter 4 - Gathering venue

"What a handsome guy!"

Said by the handsome man in the mirror. Who else could it be? It's me, Felix!

As I tidied my hair, I examined the guy in the mirror. Black hair, black eyes, subtly sunken yet expressive, carrying a depth beyond my years. A slender nose led to thin lips that curved into a thoughtful smile. The fragility of my features held an elegance, each line hinting at tales of endurance.

Looking at my reflection, there was no denying it—my handsomeness had levelled up.

"I used to be more attractive in my past life, but I shouldn't compare myself to that guy! Maybe if I stick to him, someone might notice me and I'll catch a girl's eye!"

Think about it, Steve was really handsome. But there was something I possessed that he didn't... What was it? I have… I have… Ugh, I don't know anymore!

"Oh, sheesh! I'm messing up my hair again! There is no time to fix it, I better go now!"

Off I went to the Entrance exam venue.

Nearly 2500 students have gathered in the open field section of Avalon School. They faced a large green-light holographic sphere surrounded by smoke known as a wormhole.

The wormhole is a 20-diameter average and is capable of teleporting individuals to another location.

It was my first time seeing a wormhole.

"It's like a big door, isn't it? Once you enter, there's no turning back. You must proceed to the exit. Entering the same one redirects you elsewhere. That's why I conceptualized a teleportation bracelet."

A man with a muscular build and a scar on his left eye—someone quite intimate to us—stood up, taking charge of the entrance exam.

"Good morning, everyone! I'm your facilitator for this exam today—call me Instructor Carl. Listen up: our physical test entrance exam lasts only one day. You've got until midnight to reach the final point. Succeed, and you'll earn your place as a student here. First, follow the road as a guide. But remember, don't re-enter the wormhole you came from; it'll toss you elsewhere randomly—avoid that! Also, declare your rank and measurements for combat gear distribution. Now, form five lines: Rank 1, all swordsmen go! 2, mages! 3, support! 4, rangers! 5, craftsmen!"

"Currently, it's 6 a.m., 1 hour, and it ends at 12 p.m., providing 18 hours minus orientation time to cover 50 kilometers. 17 hrs/50 km… Well, that should be enough!"

My sense of calculation seemed positive, decent enough!

I joined the 5th line and received a standard military bag crafted from leather—a magic space bag. However, the downside was its weight. Whatever you put inside, it will weigh the same. Like if you put in 25 kilograms then you will lift a small bag that weighs 25 kilograms.

The hopeful faces of aspiring students turned sour when they realized the entrance exam wasn't over yet.

"Seriously? The physical test is more like exploring a wormhole."

"Don't whine. It'll be your job in the future, haha," joked one wannabe student.

"I will pass this!"

"We can do this!"

*Burp.*

I was still full from my pre-departure meal, because I knew there would be no lunch during the entrance exam. My stomach hurt a little even while changing clothes, perhaps due to a lack of water. So I went to drink some water before the orientation started.

Many high-ranking wannabe students have already grouped up. Now is the real deal after their previous test, this one can not be decided by luck.

Now, I trying to find Steve, Sonia, and Elina so that I can apply to be their porter. They were the Legendary party, after all.

It's good to have applied as support. If I could have chosen before I transmigrated, I would have taken over Steve's body or someone in the support class.

"Now that you've finished putting on your combat clothes, this bracelet is for teleporting to that cockpit," Instructor Carl explained.

Pointing with his index finger at the cockpit designs resembling slightly larger than human-sized capsules, Instructor Carl provided instructions via PowerPoint presentations and live demonstrations. He selected a student as a model, pressed some buttons, and the bracelet's number matched the unit number.

I observed with great interest some added details that were too much, even for me. I can't think of an idea like that, that wasn't in my novel.

"Why did my story become so detailed like this? Maybe I did write something about a bracelet teleporting back to the area," I exclaimed, a shocked expression on my face.

After they completed all the necessary tasks, Instructor Carl announced, "Create your party for this entrance exam, you can decide your group!"

I was excited about this part, but my stomach felt funny. If I couldn't pass this exam, I'd be further drowning in debt.

The characters I'd created were among the best here, so they were being swarmed and surrounded by other students.

"Steve!"

"I want to join your party!" pleaded the student.

"Steve, I want to join!"

"Do you need a Mage? I'm a Mage, Steve! I'll join!"

As I rushed to join the group, disaster struck.

"Ah-!"

*Splat.*

I tripped over my own foot, falling flat on my face, the weight of the bag on my back crushing me.

"Argh!" I felt as if my ribs were broken. Currently, I was like a turtle carrying a whopping 15 kilograms.

As I got up, everything suddenly stopped, even the sounds that were vibrant moments ago now stood in silence.

"Did I die? Or did I step into a magic circle?" I asked, rubbing my face as I looked at my footprints.

There stood an old man.

"Hello, young man. Are you satisfied? Did you like your name, Felix, or do you prefer to be called Aether?"

What the freak! I was creeped out. How did he know my name from the past?

"Who are you?"

An old man adorned with ethnic tattoos—or was he younger? His spear wasn't made of stone and wood, but of gold and silver with diamond ornaments.

"Me? Hmmmm... Did you really not know? After you fell at my house, even my power was absorbed by you! That's why you ended up here! So, it's your own fault! You are stupid!"

Sidapa, he was the shrine god!

"Sorry!"

I was shocked and scared at the same time. What is happening here? The old man is present. No, how is this god shrine here?

"Then let me ask you: What if the person you regard as the strongest dies?"

The strongest? I glanced at Steve; he's my main character! What is he talking about? Impossible. I crafted him perfectly, ensuring even the bacteria on his skin would not die. It was safe to be around him.

"Wait, don't look at him like that! Also, I can hear you! Ask what you want."

"Excuse me?"

"I'm a god; I can hear anything, even things I don't want to hear."

If he is a god, then he can make me, but I can't end my own novel due to the restriction! But if he removes my restriction!

"Then make me stronger!" I said those words.

"You can be strong, but there is a restriction!"

"What restrictions?"

I was excited, even if it meant dying. I wanted god-like powers.
