Chapter 5 - Porter

"Genderless! If you do, it will make you genderless."

Genderless? What the hell is that? What?

"Wait, wait! You mean!" I was asking Sidapa, but he showed his scissor hand sign to me while nodding.

You just want to cut it!

I don't know what he needs to do, but I never got into romantic relationships, and I really don't understand. Why is that the restriction? Is he mocking me?

"What is the relation of being genderless to power?"

"Well, nothing. You know the give and take! Giving a power similar to a demigod consumes a lot of power, oh holy power. So a better alternative is making them genderless, like clay that you will just mold again after you sculpt a woman or man, then just giving it life."

"So, god, genderless?"

As the god lifted his spear like he was about to attack me, I cowered. I don't want to go near any spear.

"Wah! Are you really a god? You have no patience! I was just questioning!"

"I'm male! You idiot! You make me angry! Well, ahem… I just don't want to interfere with your story, I mean, hahaha! I mean, you're still a virgin; that's why your fantasy novels always have you doing a trio of beautiful girls with one male?"

This god is taking advantage of mortals and also mocking me. Are you really a god?

"Well, I'm not exactly a god. More like a servant official of heaven and hell; I'm just taking a vacation after sustaining an injury thanks to someone. That brought me here. I'm here to regain my holy power, which you stole, but I can't until you finish the story. I'm your fan, you see."

"Are you going to give me skills? I can't give you more than what you need to protect. Also, you have power, right?"

Indeed, I have my own concept of the craftsman and an all-around class. Was there something I was concerned about?

"Have you changed my story?" I asked

If you think about it, there are so many things that have changed in my story's history; why did the hero from those histories change to the American people? Are you an American god?

Suddenly, the god created smoke, fuming slowly from his foot. He looks extremely happy.

"Well, there's a flaw in your concept. Even a demigod would not make a mistake like how you did, but the story needs to progress. I forgot that you are in exchange for 'Badiil.'"

Still, you need to act like, 'Oh, wait, Badiil. Why?'

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! I scream, pulling my hair so that my memories will come back somehow. How could I forget something so important?

The old man, God, vanished, and everything returned to normal. My body is not hurting. Am I going to die?

"A little-"

"Steve, let me join!" a student said.

"I want to join!"

"Badiil, who's that? Wait, what?" I murmured.

Badiil is a supporting character, a porter who will die during the entrance exam! He was meant to be sacrificed to help Steve obtain his void skill.

Void skill—an exceptional ability attained under life-threatening circumstances—typically possessed by the hero, a legendary class.

"Why!" As I regain my composure, distant voices become audible.

"Look at him, is he losing it?"

"See how he's pulling his hair? He's starting to lose it, realizing being a hero isn't as easy as he thought."

"Do you know him?"

"Wait, is he a craftsman?"

"That explains it. Don't be too hard on him."

I suddenly realize that students are whispering and conversing. I can hear people again, and everything returns to normal after he says... BadiiL:

"I can hear you, people! You know!"

Still clutching my head, I was wondering if I should still be thinking about what I should do to escape this death flag!

"I think I better head home."

It's not that I want to die; I just prefer a modest life.

"Hey! You there!"

Suddenly, a girl with a mole on her cheek points directly at me, her index finger raised, her palm facing up, and her other fingers closed.

"Hmm? Sonia?"

What does she want from me?

"Felix Cunanan is the top-scoring craftsman of the craftsman department in the last test with the rank of 1675."

I may be number one among craftsmen, but overall, my ranking is disappointingly low. As expected from intelligent-type characters. It's easy to see things.

"I can't! Sorry, I'm heading home."

Sonia suddenly blushed, and she looked like she was rejected by me. Steve, who was listening, hurried to comfort her, taking her by the arm.

"Why? Do they need a porter?" asked a student.

Even the other students seem clueless, except Sonia and me, about the advantages craftsmen bring, such as managing inventory and potions.

As vital support for the group, Sonia is looking for their other weaknesses like monster detail, environment traps, and information, that is usually hard to know, everything information must be provided by her.

Steve as a swordsman, the damage dealer. Mel as a ranger for the range attacks with a physical attack, bow, and throwing potion. Sonia as the support for almost everything, and Elina as mage the magic dealer, but because the craftsmen died as a group,.

Watching Sonia and Steve, they really fit together.

*Tap* *Tap*

Someone tapped me on the shoulder.

Elina suddenly appeared behind me and asked, "Hmm... could you be our porter?"

"Yes, I'd like to!" I blurted out without thinking, surprising even myself.

Oh my! Sonia, more furious than when I rejected her earlier, stomped her right foot upon hearing my acceptance. She accused me of rejecting her in the same manner.

As Sonia approaches me, I feel a sense of threat from her. I better apologize to her.

"I'm sorry?"

Then she grabbed my collar and shook me.

"Are you mocking me? What's the point of an apology like yours?"

What the hell?! I designed Sonia as an intelligent type of person, but what I got was a violent girl! Please, let me go before I die.

"Okay, stop, stop."

Why did Steve stop her violent behavior? This Sonia is far more violent than I ever have imagined.

As I caught my breath, Elina sat with her knees up.

"Are you okay?" She seemed deeply concerned, her brows knit together, eyes fixed on me.

Her concern felt strange to me.

"Yes, yes! I'm ok! Thank you."

It's best to give thanks and leave quickly. I stood up quickly, ready to make a run for it.

But Steve stopped me with his smile radiant.

"Kyahhhh!"

"So handsome!"

Many of his female fans swooned, and there were even two males. He truly befits the image of a knight.

"Thank you. We're very happy to have you at our party," Steve said.

Oh, what the hell! Even I'm enchanted now—this is what being a main character feels like! I really want to punch him. He's so damn handsome. Why couldn't I have that?

*Tap* *tap* as Steve taps my shoulder. "Let's go, porter!" he said.

Why does this always happen to me? I don't want to die. But it's better to follow them. If I fail the exam, I'll be drowning in debt.

Looking at their weapons, there's no change, and I could feel hostility from Steve's fans and Sonia for quite a while now.
