Chapter 45 - The company really needs you!

After returning home, Chou Ping first opened his computer, recreated the plan he had made last time, and made some improvements to the minor issues pointed out by Stephen. He quickly reviewed the prepared PowerPoint document and nodded in satisfaction; the plan seemed to be perfect.

After getting ready for bed, Chou Ping picked up the "hypnotic artifact" music theory knowledge. Before long, he entered the realm of dreams.

As the cuckoo clock sounded, Chou Ping slowly opened his eyes, stretched lazily, and greeted a new Monday. Following his routine, he prepared and left for work. Upon arriving at the office, Chou Ping checked the time and saw that the stock market had already opened. He took out his phone and called Kailin.

The call was quickly answered. "Hi, Chou, the stocks you asked me to buy have all experienced varying degrees of decline. Shouldn't we consider selling some to cut losses?" Kailin spoke anxiously.

Chou Ping hadn't spoken yet, but Kailin continued, sounding a bit nervous. A faint smile appeared on Chou Ping's face. If he hadn't experienced this day before, the news might have alarmed him more than Kailin.

"Kailin, don't worry. These stocks were my recommendations. Just be patient and wait; there's no need to feel any psychological burden," Chou Ping calmly reassured her. At that moment, Chou Ping noticed a figure in the hallway.

"Kailin, I have something to attend to. We'll talk later!" He hung up the phone and quickly approached the short white colleague.

"Hey, Russ!"

"Hey, Chou, good morning!"

"Russ, do you have a moment? I'd like to chat with you about something."

Russ looked hesitant; he didn't want to get too close to people of color because of his unattractive appearance. However, when Chou Ping pulled out two hundred-dollar bills, his eyes lit up. Chou Ping shook the bills and said, "If these two are the reward for our conversation, what would you say?"

Russ's eyes gleamed, and without hesitation, he agreed to talk with Chou Ping. They went into the nearby corridor, and within two minutes, Chou Ping had already walked out of the corridor.

After chatting with Russ, Chou Ping returned to his department and started working.

In another building in the same block, inside a financial company, Kailin was nervously staring at the stock prices on her screen. Every minor fluctuation in the lines affected her mood. Despite Chou Ping's advice not to feel burdened, this was her first time managing such a large amount of capital, and the stocks were chosen by Chou Ping himself.

At this moment, Jerry approached with a cup of coffee. Seeing the stock chart on Kailin's screen, he sneered.

"Humph! That Hua Xia new stock is about to be issued. You'll see those lines plummet. Then you'll know what it means to be in tears."

Kailin paid no attention to Jerry; she was still hesitating. She couldn't decide who was right between Chou Ping and Jerry.

After mocking for a while, Jerry walked away, leaving Kailin in her contemplation. He had secretly used 200,000 dollars from a few clients to invest in that stock, hoping to make a quick profit with the new stock issuance. If he failed, he would lose everything.

Not long into the afternoon work, Chou Ping received a notification from his colleague. After exchanging a few pleasantries, they went to the meeting room with Chou Ping carrying a portable hard drive.

Meeting his boss again, in Stephen's view, it was their first official meeting for a serious discussion.

Chou Ping was already immune to Stephen's way of talking. After a brief chat, he went straight to the point and presented his plan. When Chou Ping finished explaining, Stephen couldn't help applauding, and Sarah joined in.

"Bravo, Chou! You really live up to your reputation from Hua Xia. Your insights into the Asian market are incredibly thorough. Our company needs talents like you."

Stephen stood up excitedly, approached Chou Ping, and warmly embraced him, making Chou Ping feel a bit awkward. It was a different experience than if it were Sarah.

"OK, Chou! I've made up my mind. We'll go with your development plan. However, your proposal needs to be more formal. If you can make it more official, that would be perfect!"

Stephen continued, "But what you've done is already excellent, young man. You're truly outstanding!"

Turning around, Stephen asked Sarah, "What's Chou's position in our company now?"

"Boss, Chou has been with us for less than a year. He's currently just a regular designer," Sarah respectfully replied.

"Oh, my goodness! Such talent and we've buried him as a mere designer for nearly a year! Sarah, go to the HR department and inform them. Chou is now the deputy head of your department."

"Of course, don't worry too much about Chou taking your position. This deputy role is just a transition. Once he gets familiar with managerial work, I'll arrange a more suitable position for him!" Stephen exaggeratedly gestured.

Sarah's mouth was slightly open; she was somewhat surprised. Stephen's words were quite explicit. The deputy position was just a temporary transition, and Chou Ping would soon be promoted to a higher position.

Maybe, Chou Ping would become her boss.

At this moment, she inexplicably recalled the teasing words Chou Ping had said to her before. The way she looked at Chou Ping suddenly changed, and her whole body felt slightly warm. Her gaze toward Chou Ping even became a bit flirtatious.

Chou Ping keenly sensed the change in Sarah's eyes and couldn't help but smile slightly. It seemed that this hot and glamorous boss had some thoughts in her mind.

After bidding farewell to Stephen, Sarah went to the HR department, and Chou Ping returned to his department alone, sitting in front of the computer.

Picking up his phone, he noticed two missed calls, both from Kailin. Chou Ping felt a slight tremor in his heart.

What happened? Did something go wrong in the middle, and Kailin got into trouble again?

In a hurry, Chou Ping dialed back, and the call was answered after just one ring.

"Hi, Kailin, what's going on?"

"Oh, my God, Chou... I... I can hardly catch my breath."

Chou Ping's heart tightened. "Kailin, dear, what's going on? I'm coming right away. Please don't do anything foolish!"

"Oh, no, Chou... I'm breathing hard because of excitement. Your predictions are unbelievably accurate. In just a few hours, the stocks you recommended have been rising continuously. I've already made over ten thousand in profits!" Kailin exclaimed excitedly.
