Chapter 14 - Revelations

[Ayana's POV]

"Ayana! Can you please attend the brigade's meeting?" Lea asked me.

I was warming up in my school's gymnasium. She had come to me running out of nowhere.

Lea, she was my friend and Josh's girlfriend.

Josh? He was my school's biggest bully and the representative of my school in that wannabe gangster organization.

"Why?" I asked. I was quite busy and had no business with the org.

"Josh has a practice exam today, and you may not be a thug, but are the strongest person in our school, are you not? You even defeated Josh."

I had beaten that weak-ass bully, after all, we are in the same martial arts club.

"But-"

"No buts. I'll take you to Alfredo's"

"Okay. But, take me to Alfredo's Pizzeria, not Alfredo's Pizza Store."

"Alright."

***

I accepted her request due to our friendship, and not because I was bribed. Whatever the case maybe, I now was standing in the elevator which was taking me to the meeting venue.

I checked my wristwatch, and I was running behind by a few minutes. Though, I didn't care. After all, I just had to observe what happened and tell it to Josh. They said that someone important would be announced today.

As soon as the lift gates opened I power walked to the hall.

I spotted a person on the stage with spotlights on him.

I quickly walked to the last row and saw a fat boy sitting on the corner seat.

"Can you please shift over?" I asked the boy.

The boy turned his head towards me. I couldn't get a clear look at his face in the dark, dimly lit hall, but his eyes were radiating with a dark hue. They shined like the eyes of a bloodthirsty devil.

Suddenly, he started exerting a tremendous amount of marmic pressure, and it had traces of killing intent mixed within.

All of this happened so quickly, that I couldn't keep my composure.

The boy nodded and shifted to the next seat.

His killing intent was directed towards the person standing on the stage.

I don't know why, but, for some reason, his pressure had a faint familiarity.

"First time here?" I asked.

***

A psychopathic bloodlusting devil. That's who he was.

He kept hitting the poor dude even though he had already passed out, and the look in his eyes, it was cold.

I had asked him to meet me after the meeting to learn more about him, but now it feels like I'll have to use this chance to nullify him.

"Do I have a domain shard with me?" I muttered as I rummaged through the pockets of my blazer.

No, I didn't have any domain shards with me at the moment, only a single sound shard.

Shards, they were objects that could camouflage a certain area to make it seem like nothing out of the ordinary was happening there, even though a fight between empowered could be happening.

"Fuck it, I'll somehow figure out a way to use the sound shard."

"What do you mean!" Zenil shouted, his voice contained anger.

Suddenly, he raised his fist and attacked me.

I felt a powerful force that impacted my whole body, making me fumble a few steps, freeing Zenil in the process.

After regaining my composure, I looked at him, his eyes glowing with the same dark hue, and black flames danced around his fist.

Suddenly, another figure appeared behind him, it was Glynn.

"What's going on here, you two?" He said.

***

[Narrator's POV]

"Glynn?" Ayana said while looking at the man. She had stopped her attack and abruptly paused.

Zenil instinctively turned around to find out whose voice he just heard.

A man who looked to be in his late twenties stood at the edge of the alley. He had brown hair and dark brown eyes. The man was currently wearing a casual t-shirt and a pair of jeans.

"Miss Ayana I sensed your Marmic Pressure when I was in a nearby cafe, so I came by to say hi, but when I got nearer to you I started sensing another pressure near you. So I rushed here."

"Are you fine?" He asked.

Ayana nodded and looked at Zenil.

"Now, why don't you tell me which group you belong to?" She said.

"Who is this boy?" Glynn asked.

"I don't know, I randomly met him at school," Ayana said.

"I am Zenil, and I am not with any group. I don't even know what you are talking about!" Zenil said with frustration in his voice.

"Well, I did sense your pressure, and it seems you have broken through. And, you cannot reach this milestone until someone is training you." Glynn said.

"Who are you with?"

"He is with me!" A familiar voice came from the dark corner of the alley as a masculine figure walked out of the shadows.

Wide figure, long black hair, and a macho beard. It was Ryong.

"Sir," Glynn said, his face that of astonishment.

"Ryong?" Zenil looked at the familiar man.

"Dad!" Ayana whispered.

Currently, Aaron, the representative of the third-ranked school sat in front of the chessboard, with no opponent. He was playing chess against himself.

"What is that girl thinking?" Aaron said to himself.

"She made a target, a rep?"

A smirk erupted on his handsome face, as he picked up the queen from the chessboard.

"That's one crazy move, my queen."

***

"We will get rid of him!" Arnold said. He was currently laid down on a hospital bed. He was the youth who had gotten hit by Zenil at Zenil's previous school.

"I will crush him next time!" Grover said. He was on the bed next to Arnold.

"I can't believe that they made the fatty their rep," Amroh said with a smirk on his face. He was seated next to Arnold.

"This is going to be interesting."

***

A male with light pink colored hair was laughing like a maniac. He was currently standing under the dark moonlit sky on top of a school terrace. A few more figures stood beside him.

He had various piercings all over his face.

"What will Jin think?" He said while trying to control his laughter.

"Oh, Cyrille! What have you done!"

"Now, my Mountbay will stomp Aurelia!"

***

In a small room, a figure sat on the bed.

The room was dark and was only being illuminated by the moonlight which was pouring in through the windows.

The figure had a smartphone in their hands, and the messages app was open.

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Contact Name - Mark Beasly

[Mark: Aurelia announced their new rep.]

[Mark: It's the…]

The figure didn't show much interest in the text and simply turned off the device before even completely reading the message.

"Jin. You shouldn't have left."

"After all, only you could entertain me."

***

A female with long platinum blonde hair with streaks of black, sat on the floor, drinking tea. She had beautiful crimson-red eyes. She looked quite mature, and appeared to be at most in her early thirties. The elegant moonlight illuminating the dark room was directly falling on her, making her appear even more majestic.

"What made you remember me, Vincent?" She said into the wireless earpiece she was wearing.

"Well, first of all, I successfully set up the operations for Illuna in London."

"And? You won't be calling for a trivial matter like this. Tell me, Vincent."

"It's about Zenil."

"What happened?" The lady lost her majestic charm for a moment and asked in a frenzy.

"Nothing major, it's just he broke through to the first core."

"That's it? You made me worry for no reason. But, are you sure?"

"Though I might not have reached your level of strength, but, I can at least discern this much. I am sure he broke through! Isn't this bad?"

"No, I knew this would happen. After all, the blood which runs through him is the mixture of talent."

"Only the purest blood runs through his veins." She continued. "Did something big happen?"

"Do you remember that Lana girl I told you about?"

"Yeah, the girl who Zenil treated like his own sister?"

"Yes. She died."

"What? How?"

"Apparently she was assaulted by some rich brat and then committed suicide due to mental torture."

"That's quite unfortunate. How's Zenil? Should we help him out?"

"It's been a while since this happened, so he is alright now. I am sure he will be handling this in his own way. Also, his demeanor and confidence seemed to be different than usual."

"Well, her death probably caused him to break through. After all most well-trained scions reach the first core by the time they are twelve. It was only a matter of time until Zenil broke through. As for the change in his personality, all I can say is that power shows you the real you."

"Is that so?"

"Yeah, we will have to worry when he reaches the third core. If that happens, then, we will have to take the matter into our own hands."

"Well, I'll have to go now, good night, sister-in-law." Vincent said as he ended the call.

A smile appeared on the lady's face after the call ended.

"How lovely."
