Chapter 18 - Assessment(I)

Zenil was currently standing in front of the headquarters of the Diamond Clouds group. Kairos was standing beside him.

The building was quite huge and was one of the tallest skyscrapers in the commercial office district of the city.

"They are quite rich, aren't they?" Zenil said while looking at the top of the building.

"What did you expect? They are a whole corporation, and their biggest source of revenue is their jewelry company, called Fontaire. You must have heard of it." Kairos said while looking at Zenil. "Now then, why don't we enter?"

Zenil nodded, "Sure,"

"Hey, Kairos!" Suddenly a feminine voice came from behind them.

"Hi, Natasha," Kairos said after turning around.

Following him, Zenil also turned around to face the woman named Natasha.

Seeing her, Zenil's eyes widened, and a small smile appeared on her face. Zenil had just experienced love- No, more like attraction at first sight.

The lady named Natasha had long brown hair, complementing spotless, white skin and brown eyes. Her body was also amazing, it was currently at the metamorphosis stage between a girl and a woman, after all, she looked like she was in her mid-twenties. More than anything else, it was the sweet scent emitted by her voluptuous body.

At present, she donned a black suit paired with a light-colored shirt and a stylish formal short skirt that highlighted her attractive legs, complemented by black stockings and heels. She also wore a silver chain around her neck.

A man wearing a white driver's uniform along with two burly men in black two-piece suits stood behind her.

"You must be Zenil?" Natasha asked with a smile on her face but, Zenil didn't reply back. He just stood there in a daze, his eyes locked on towards her beautiful face. He had also gotten a little excited down there.

Out of nowhere, Zenil felt a slap on the back of his head, making him come out of his daze.

"Natasha please don't use your ability this blatantly," Kairos said after slapping Zenil.

Natasha slightly pouted as she retrieved the pendant hanging from her chain, previously concealed behind her clothing. The small diamond pendant had a subtle pink tint. As she touched it, the fragrance emanating from her body subtly faded, and she started to appear a little worse, but she still looked better than most girls.

The illusion had shattered.

"So, you must be Zenil, right?" She said while looking at Zenil, who was currently in a state of confusion, and it was clear from his face.

"Y-Yeah," He said.

"She is Natasha, the president of Diamond Clouds." Kairos said, "And it was due to her ability that you fell in a daze. She can appear to be more attractive when she activates her ability."

Hearing this, Zenil's eyes widened, "The fucking fuck?" He muttered.

Zenil, Kairos, and Natasha were now on the forty-fifth floor of the building, the floor on which the testing center was situated.

"Ma'am you didn't need to come here yourself," Glynn said.

"It's alright Glynn, I was already planning to come here, but I just ended up meeting them when I was entering the building," Natasha said as she sat down on the sofa in the room. "Why don't you explain to Zenil, what he has to do?"

Glynn hesitantly nodded, and looked at Zenil, "Sure, ma'am."

"Well, Zenil, the physical assessment test is divided into two parts, in the first part we will simply detect the amount of power your soul holds, or more like we will be checking just how powerful the pressure you exert is," Glynn said as he walked towards a certain structure kept in the room.

"Your pressure will point at your potential, just how strong you can be. Most people have a cap." Kairos said.

"Just keep your hand on this orb, and exert your marmic pressure." He said, "The orb will shine in accordance with your strength, the brighter it glows the stronger you are, no, the stronger you can become. It will showcase your potential."

Zenil gulped and walked towards the transparent orb, and kept his hand on it.

"Now exert your pressure."

Zenil nodded and exerted his pressure.

As soon as he exerted his pressure, Natasha flinched for a second, and her eyes dimly glowed with a pink hue, the shine faded a moment later. Unlike Kairos and Glynn, she hadn't felt Zenil's pressure before and had underestimated him, suddenly feeling this tremendous pressure, her instincts kicked in.

Kairos was just standing in the corner of the room, with his hands folded, and back leaning against the wall. A satisfied smile was on his face.

The orb started to glow. First, it dimly lit, then it got brighter, and brighter with time. About half a minute later it was bright enough to temporarily source of light in a dark room. Seeing this, Natasha's eyes widened. Glynn too, was astonished.

"You can remove your hands," Glynn said.

As soon as Zenil removed his hand, the orb stopped emitting light and went to its normal state of transparency.

Everyone went silent in the room. Everyone was confused. Except for Zenil.

"Did I do good?"

"Yes," Natasha said with a professional smile on her face.

"It was pretty good," Glynn said.

"No, you did not. This indicated that your potential is average at max." Kairos said.

Hearing this Zenil's eyes widened.

"But, I believe that something was wrong with the orb," Kairos said.

"I second that. Your pressure doesn't match your evaluation." Natasha said.

"Whatever the case may be, we will have to continue with this result," Glynn said as he kept his hand on the orb, and soon the room was blinded by a flashing white light.

In a brightly lit, well-furnished living room, Ryong sat down in front of a woman with a somewhat wrinkled face, and easily spottable grey hair mixed with her black hair.

"Your concern is that your disciple is not able to get slim?" She asked as she took a sip of tea.

"Exactly, at first I felt, I was being mistaken, but, no it's been a week, and his weight is still the same. Even if he eats a lot, with the amount of training he is doing, he will surely lose some fat, but, his weight is still stagnant." Ryong said.

"The circumstances are pointing towards only one thing." The lady murmured.

"Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable it may be, is the truth." She continued after taking a sip.

"What are you pointing at?" Ryong asked.

"You randomly found a kid who is compatible with your power and has a talent for marma. All of it tells me that his parents were talented individuals as well, and had made it so that he never gets mixed with the power wielders." The lady said.

Ryong looked at the lady with a perplexed expression.

"Understand this, his parents probably didn't want him to access his powers, at least not until he got into some life-threatening danger. From what I have gathered, a seal has been placed on him."

Hearing this, Ryong's eyes widened. He understood what the lady meant.

"A seal which can limit one's progress, the seal of Chikara has been placed on him." She took another sip, "And as you know, this seal interferes with the spiritual body as well as the material body. That's why-"

"That's why he is not able to lose weight," Ryong muttered. "But, what if that's not the case?"

"I am sure that there is no black swan present here."

Ryong nodded, 'If he broke through the first chakra with the seal intact with no training, then what kind of monster will he become in the future?' Ryong thought to himself.

"But, are you ready to go against the wish of his dead parents?" The lady asked.

Hearing this the excitement on Ryong's face vanished, replaced by indifference.

"I have already gone against their wishes, haven't I?"
