Chapter 4 - The Contient Of Cronus

It was already past noon, and as we entered Themis City, seeing the entire city in person, I couldn't deny I was surprised. It is called the capital of the human kingdom, after all.

Bran's exaggeration was limitless, but it was nice to have a companion—what the hell am I saying. Damn, this vessel of a human mind.

"Sighs"

Well, I have to be honest at least now. Even for a great entity like myself, I couldn't help but stare at the different sights that came into view as we traveled down the main road. I could see magic shops, armories, spell books, and even magical beast egg shops. There was everything a mage could ask for. Adults and children were all dressed extravagantly, while luxurious carriages passed alongside ours. Some buildings were several stories high, making this city seem a lot bigger and denser. Well, I have never admired a city before now, as everywhere I went and stood, I brought out destruction. I don't regret it, but at the same time, I was offended too.

Talking about admiring, this continent is known as Cronus. And it is separated into three major kingdoms who have come to peace after a long war within themselves.

Firstly, there are the Elves, mortal creatures with human appearance aside from their long sharp ears and are usually blessed by mana to grant them long life to live. They reside in the western forest side, creating the whole Elven kingdom of Corellon.

Then comes the Dwarves. They are species like humans with short height and an incredible ability to forge or create items and artifacts. They all reside in the north-western region, far from the Elven kingdom and inside the Grand mountains' underground, creating their own Dwarven Kingdom of Moradin.

Next is the most common and in a huge population, The Humans. Nothing much to say about these idiots aside from their outstanding developments to ideate and use all the other races for their selfish desires for most of the part. Anyway, these imbeciles have created their own kingdom named Eleutheria.

Among all these three races, the monster race, which includes some magical beasts and demonic species that escaped the demonic realm when I was forced to this realm by some entity. They usually inhabit all the dense forests and regions where adventures and mercenaries venture through to clear out dungeons to vanquish the demons or kill the existing ones that might attack the towns or cities near the forests.

It is kind of odd though. My soul has been transported here in this body with not much time passed when I was split of my ethereal form. But, according to the people in this continent, it seems like the demons who should've escaped quite recently were always present in this world for quite a long time now. I wonder why that is.

And, to fight these magical beasts and demons, this continent has built multiple academies and schools to develop young magicians and warriors who would become strong enough to fend off these creatures. But, among all the academies in this continent, two academies reigned supreme as they developed powerful mages as well as warriors. The Odin Academy of Magecrafts and the Themis Academy of Mana-arts, where me as Lucas Trident and my now brother Bran Trident, were students.

Even though the terms Magecraft and Mana-arts are similar, people in this world consider them different. While Magecraft is studied by people to become mages to study and utilize the elemental attributes of nature, Mana-arts are studies which a person would learn to bend mana flow itself, within them as well as the atmosphere to utilize their choice of weapons and spells.

Well, I might be surprised if I were an ordinary demon or any other species, but this is all child's play when compared to the power I had to control the abyss itself.

Supposedly, this world has a ranking system based on power levels separately for Magecrafts and Mana-arts, while there is also a grade level for the power and attribute of mana one could wield.

From the weakest rank to the strongest rank for the Mana-arts, the ranks are segregated into Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, Master, Grand-master, King, Emperor, and Saint ranks respectively.

As for Magecrafts, the ranks are devised as Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, Great Mage, Grand Mage, Magister, Great Magister, and Grand Magister ranks respectively.

And the grade levels of attributes and powers are segregated into the lowest grade being Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and the ultra-rarest grade which is Palladium.

I must say, it seems like having a Gold tier or grade attribute, a person could become quite the attraction of people. What a waste of effort trying to cultivate a meager grade like gold or silver. Even with a platinum-grade attribute, I doubt the person would deserve my respect with my current level.

However, on the topic of ranks, it seems like Lucas was the weakest student in the Themis Academy, getting the title of 'Zero' from both the students as well as the teachers.

Lucas did awaken a Silver grade attribute which is to manipulate dark elements, and I now understand why his body was chosen by my soul to transfer into, but I can't understand why his knowledge about cultivating his mana and elemental attribute was so low, as he practically stuck in the intermediate rank for almost three years now, after joining the academy.

Well, it doesn't matter now; my power and attribute as Lucas are far more than Platinum grade, to say the least, and with my body's existing Dark element as well as my element of chaos, I would easily break through the rank of grand-master in almost a month or so. However, I must develop my scrawny-looking body that is un-befitting to be a king's avatar.

"Hey man! We are here!" Bran said as I was snapped out of my thinking.

Just as I turned my gaze towards our front, we had already stood in front of the prestigious academy for Mana-Arts.
