During these six days, Cyan enjoyed a peaceful and restful time. He would wake up early to absorb the morning essence, take the soul repair potion, and have a peaceful sleep. It was a stark contrast to his time in the Moon World, where he never felt safe and his soul was constantly weary.
Thanks to his diligent efforts, he was able to retain a small amount of soul power in his platform. He quickly infused it into the ancient tower, although he couldn't enter it yet due to the extensive damage. However, he could now take things in and out of the tower using the storage function. Cyan wasted no time and retrieved the soul repair elixir he had prepared before leaving the Moon World.
Cyan breathed a sigh of relief when the elixir worked. With the storage function now open, he could take things out and put things in. He saw the golden elixir in the bottle, but he didn't rush to take it. This high-grade elixir would do more harm than good if his soul wasn't properly nourished first.
He took out the prepared high-grade herbs and prepared to soak in herbal baths for three days to nourish his soul before taking the elixir. These three days proved to be some of the most agonizing moments in Cyan's life. He never expected soul repair to be so painful. At one point, the pain was so unbearable that he nearly drowned himself in the bath when he fainted.
Cyan wondered how much pain he would have to endure when he used the soul strengthening elixir. As expected, as soon as he took the elixir, the sensation of someone drilling his soul became overwhelming. The pain was unbearable, and he lost consciousness. He woke up three days later, weak and unable to get up. His companions must have been worried sick about him. Thankfully, he had assured them beforehand, or they might have broken down his door.
Using his soul to examine his platform, Cyan noticed that the cracks were no longer as dense. There were signs of healing, and the healed areas appeared stronger and more lustrous than before. To his surprise, his soul platform had also grown bigger. This was a positive development, as any increase in soul capacity was highly valuable. Although he was happy with this discovery, he hoped to never have to go through such painful soul repair again.
Cyan tried meditating and found that the process was now smoother and easier. Even his meridians had undergone changes. Despite the misfortune and pain, there was a silver lining. He had gained a lot from his experiences. He now had an ancient tower, he had been able to reunite with his brothers from the past, and he could now live a better life. All he needed was time and the use of natural resources to heal the remaining parts of his soul.
As long as Cyan doesn't sustain any further damage to his soul, he should be fine. With the funds in place, he begins to plan for their group, considering the mercenary route. The forest holds plenty of resources that they can explore to make money. With Cyan leading the way, their safety should be guaranteed, but first, he needs to strengthen his team.
Cyan's once-pale face has returned to normal, no longer reflecting the toll his soul had taken.
"Boss, where have you been? We were ready to break down your door if we didn't see you today," Mattie complained.
"If you break down the door, be prepared to face Lydia's wrath," Cyan retorted.
"That's a risk we were willing to take, but thank goodness you've come out," Mattie responded.
These guys must have been desperate to face Lydia, who was known for her fierce temperament. As a former mercenary, Lydia was not someone to be messed with, especially when it came to her property.
"I'm glad you guys didn't break down the door. I don't want to be chased with a butcher knife," Cyan joked.
Laughter filled the room, especially considering the time when Lydia had actually chased them with a butcher knife.
"Where's Law and the others?" Cyan asked.
"Today is Buck's group shipment, so they went to deliver," Mattie explained.
"Ah, our last shipment, right?"
"Yes, since you asked us not to take any additional orders, we followed your instructions," Mattie confirmed.
Cyan nodded in acknowledgement and tapped the table as he delved into deep thought. It was a well-known habit of his, and everyone respected his need for concentration, refraining from disturbing him in those moments.
Cyan remembered that Spencer had mentioned some neighbors in their area wanting to sell their land.
"Yes, boss. Some of our neighbors are interested in selling their land," Spencer replied. "They want to either move to the central area or leave the sector."
"How many houses are we talking about, and how close are they?" Cyan asked.
Spencer quickly showed Cyan the map, indicating the number of houses and their proximity to each other. Cyan noticed that the buildings were close together but not in the same area as their warehouse. It was in a better location, still in the remote area but more suitable for building a base. He hadn't planned to establish their base in the central area where most mercenaries were located. This remote place was more affordable and offered better privacy.
"Good. When Law and the others come, we will discuss it," Cyan decided.
Their conversation was interrupted by the sound of Niall's angry voice.
"Those damn Henley bastards, they dare to cut into our business!" Niall exclaimed.
"It doesn't matter, boss already said we're done with this business. There's no need to get angry," Dennis reasoned.
"It's not about that. It's a matter of principle. They don't know that we're no longer taking orders. This is encroachment," Niall vented his frustration.
"Boss, you're here," Mattie greeted Cyan.
"What's the matter? Who made Niall angry?" Cyan asked.
"Big brother, it's those Henley bastards. They're encroaching on our business," Niall said, visibly upset.
Cyan couldn't help but tease Niall by pulling his cheeks, causing Niall to yell in protest. Cyan laughed, trying to ease the tension.
"It's fine, don't bother getting angry because of them. If they want the business, they can have it. We are taking a different route anyways," Cyan reassured them.
In the past, Cyan might have also gotten angry, but now his sights were set higher.
"Fine, I won't bother caring about them anymore. Big brother, what's the plan?" Niall asked in a more cheerful tone. His anger was quick to fade, and he always remained positive.
The others rolled their eyes, accustomed to Niall's quickly changing moods.
"Everyone, please sit down. Let me explain the plan, and then you can give your opinions," Cyan instructed.
Everyone found a seat, understanding that this discussion would determine their future. Even Niall, who had been happy just moments before, became serious.
"Firstly, we are taking the mercenary route. Secondly, we are changing locations. And last but not least, you guys will need to undergo intense training," Cyan announced.
The guys looked at their boss in surprise. While they had expected a change in direction, they hadn't anticipated becoming mercenaries.
"Boss, I don't want to dampen everyone's spirits, but being a mercenary is no joke. We will need a substantial amount of funding, and relocating to a new location requires money, not to mention acquiring the necessary equipment," Law voiced his concerns.
"I agree with Law, boss. We don't have enough funds to start our own mercenary group," another team member added, voicing the general sentiment.
Cyan listened attentively to their concerns, knowing that they were valid. He had anticipated their reactions and had already prepared a response.
"I understand your doubts and concerns," Cyan began, his voice calm yet determined. "But sometimes, in order to achieve greatness, we have to take risks and make bold decisions. Yes, being a mercenary is no joke, but it also presents us with incredible opportunities."
He paused for a moment, letting his words sink in before continuing. "As for funding, that's where fifty million points come into play."
Kelly couldn't hold it "boss that's fifty million points not fifty points"
Dennis couldn't help but interject, his voice tinged with disbelief. "Boss, where did you get that much money? Did you rob a bank or something?"
"What's there to be surprised about your boss became hundred million richer last week" he boasted. Cyan can say all this because they are his trusted people and they won't betray him.
"Boss what did you do"
"Yes boss who did you rob, do you need us to help you hide the body, take fault or be your alibi" they joked.
"You guys shut up with the nonsense, stop watching those dead dramas," Law coughed because he was also thinking about it.
Cyan chuckled, enjoying the astonishment on their faces. "It's actually a settlement from the Carlton family. Let's just say I made a profitable deal recently."
"Boss are you sure about this? The Carlton shares is worth a lot,"
"It doesn't matter, it's more practical to get money than hold something that will kill me"
"Boss you're right, drama in big family isn't easy to mess with it"
Cyan nods his head in agreement, "so with this nothing should stop us"
"Boss, you never cease to amaze us," Kelly said, a mixture of admiration and surprise in his voice. "But seriously, fifty million points? That's incredible!"
Mattie chimed in, "This means we can finally get the top-notch technology and security for our base"
Yes, Mattie, I'm for real," Cyan replied with a mischievous grin. "The Carlton family settlement was a stroke of luck, and now we have the funds to make our dreams come true. It's time to turn our vision into reality."
Spencer, still trying to process the new information, spoke up. "Boss, this changes everything. With that kind of funding, we can not only acquire the location for our base, but we can also invest in quality equipment and training resources."
Law, always the cautious one, chimed in. "We'll need to be smart and strategic with how we spend the money. We can't afford to waste this opportunity."
Cyan nodded in agreement. "You're right, Law. We need to make every dollar count. That's why, Mattie, I want you to focus on creating a detailed plan for the high-tech equipment we need. We want nothing but the best."
Mattie's eyes lit up with excitement. "You can count on me, boss. I'll design a state-of-the-art fortress, complete with cutting-edge surveillance systems, advanced weapons, and training facilities that push the boundaries of what's possible."
Cyan, I assume you have a plan for the marked area?" Asked Law
Cyan nodded, his expression shifting into one of determination. "Spencer, show Law the area we discussed. We need to acquire it and establish our base there. It'll be our stronghold."
Spencer nodded, a sense of purpose in his eyes. "Consider it done, boss. We'll secure that location for our operations."
Meanwhile, Mattie eagerly jumped in. "Boss, I've already started drafting a plan for the high-tech equipment and security systems. We'll have the best defenses, surveillance, and gadgets."
Cyan grinned, impressed by Mattie's enthusiasm. "That's what I like to hear, Mattie. I know you'll make it happen."
Niall couldn't contain his excitement any longer and blurted out, "Boss, all this feels too good to be true. Are you sure it's real?"
Cyan's eyes narrowed playfully as he replied, "Niall, believe it or not, it's very real. And we're going to make the most of it."
The group exchanged exhilarated glances, finally realizing the magnitude of the opportunity before them. Cyan's sudden wealth had opened doors they never thought possible, and they were ready to seize it with both hands.
Cyan's voice regained its authoritative tone. "We'll get registered officially and start establishing our reputation in this world once everything is in place."
The stunned group quickly snapped out of their daze, nodding in agreement and determination. They could sense the fire in Cyan's words, and they were ready to follow him into this new chapter of their lives.
"Did you guys notice that the boss feels different?" Kelly asked, observing the change in Cyan.
"It's true, but I actually prefer the boss like this. Not that the boss before wasn't good, but now he seems more relaxed," Shane explained. The others nodded in agreement. Cyan had always been good to them, but his previous demeanor lacked flexibility, which had led them to accumulate enemies.
"Well, the boss did say he was enlightened. But one thing won't change: if we don't carry out the boss's orders, we'll be doomed," Mattie joked.
The group burst into laughter, knowing all too well that their boss had various ways to make their lives miserable if they failed to comply with his instructions.
