This world and Moon world have a lot in common, strength spoke volumes.
Cyan's sudden change of heart left Niall curious and compelled to ask the question. After all, it was Cyan who had yearned for this job the most. They had expended their resources and used every favor they had to get close to Mr. Will, who hailed from a more prestigious sector than theirs.
"I have thought about it. A golden nest is not as good as one's own doghouse," Cyan explained, his tone carrying a hint of newfound wisdom. "I was ignorant before. This place is not bad; we are surrounded by resources that other sectors do not have. If we make good use of them, our lives can improve. Go back and tell the others that if they still believe in me, I have a plan."
"Big brother, we brothers have always believed in you," Niall affirmed, his faith unwavering.
"I am not doubting that. This decision is different; everyone needs to think about it," Cyan emphasized. "Although I want them to consider it, I absolutely forbid anyone from following Mr. Will. I will explain things to you all later, but for now, I want you guys to seriously reflect on whether you still want to follow me."
Niall observed the seriousness in Cyan's eyes and understood the weight of the matter at hand. "Okay, big brother. You know I'm not clever, and I will always follow you. I don't need to think about it."
"Idiot, it's not that you're not clever; you just don't like to use your head," Cyan gently teased. Niall shrugged, acknowledging the truth. Why should he exhaust his brain cells when he had capable people around him? Besides, he had steadfastly believed in his brother, who had led them to their current standing. They may not be wealthy, but they were not hungry either.
"Let's go. I still have something to attend to," Cyan said, his words sincere. He had to visit the herbal pavilion to acquire the necessary herbs to begin treating his soul. If he failed to do so, he would endure the same excruciating pain all over again.
"Do you want me to accompany you?" Niall offered.
"No need. Go and do as I asked you. Once you're done, I still have to meet with those people," Cyan replied with a smile. It was not as though their presence would intimidate those individuals, but the gesture mattered.
"No need to worry; they won't harm me. They need me to sign those documents, so I am safe," Cyan reassured Niall. The contempt those people held for him was no secret; they could not be bothered to dirty their hands with someone they considered scum. If it were not for drawing out his rights to that family, they would never pay him any mind.
Cyan's story was a cliché; it was a tangled web of betrayal, heartbreak, and undeniable injustice. His biological father had engaged in an affair with his mother while training in their sector, all the while aiming to secure his position as the head of the family. Despite already being married, the man succumbed to temptation, resulting in Cyan's mother becoming pregnant. Ambition clouded the man's judgment, leading him to pay off Cyan's mother with the intention of abandoning their child.
But Cyan's mother, although hurt by the man's actions, refused to give up on the life growing within her. She held onto the hope of raising her beloved child, accepting the offer of money but keeping her word to never contact the man again. Together, she and Cyan faced the world alone, relying only on each other for support and love.
Tragedy struck when Cyan's mother fell victim to one of the fatal diseases that haunted their Federation. She passed away when Cyan was just thirteen, leaving him oblivious to the truth of his parentage. It was customary to inform the other parent when a child was underage, leading the man and his family to discover Cyan's existence. Only then did Cyan learn the truth about his prominent father, shattered by the revelation that he believed his father was dead.
Unexpectedly, a group of individuals approached Cyan, unveiling the painful details of his life story and bitterly shaming his mother as a homewrecker. The fury ignited within Cyan, causing him to sign away everything without seeking any compensation from the family that had abandoned him. While he didn't possess knowledge of the family's true power, he soon found himself trapped in a wretched mine, realizing that the man's wife had played a sinister role in orchestrating his predicament.
Cyan couldn't fathom why blame always seemed to fall solely on his mother. Were they not two consenting adults involved in the affair? Why was it that no one saw his father as equally culpable? It was not Cyan who had chosen to be born into this chaos; he was the unwitting victim in this tangled mess.
Determined to forge a new path, Cyan resolved to sever all ties and ensure that the woman who had caused so much trouble in his previous life would not bring him further harm. While vengeance simmered within him, he understood the concept of cause and effect all too well. Revenge, in this relentless world, would only lead to more suffering.
With a heavy heart and a fire burning within him, Cyan vowed to create a new narrative for himself. One that would rise above the shadows of betrayal and orphanhood, forging his own destiny and seeking justice on his terms. For he knew that true power lay in rewriting the story of his life, leaving behind a legacy that defied the callous whims of fate.
