At a photoshoot, Wu Yige was interviewed for the magazine when Katrina walked in with the snacks for the staff. It took her a few hours because she needed to only buy the snacks and beverages Wu Yige modeled for. It was everywhere, but she miscalculated the number of staff.
Katrina was running away from a terrifying scene of Wu Yige posing with half wet hair and super exposed chest. Thankfully it was the interview time once she got back.
"It's great to finally meet you, Mr. Wu."
"Yes, me too."
"We made a poll on what our readers most curious about you, Mr. Wu and the top of the list is 'What is your first drama project after 8 years only focusing on movies?'"
"Wow, I saw this coming, but I can't give an answer yet."
"Oh, is it because you're still considering which project to take?"
"Yes, because when choosing a project my opinion is important, but reading and discussing the scripts with my teams always brings a new perspective to me. Sometimes, I change my selection because they give me great input too."
"Is that so? That's new information to us. Do you always visit the office regularly?"
"I have my own room there and it's very efficient for me to meet my team there, so I can say I'm regularly in the office."
"Woah.. It must've been a great employee benefit to meet you everyday."
"No, no. You're being too nice."
The interviewer had long noticed Katrina and she looked at her, "Miss, how is it to work closely with Mr. Wu?"
"It's like working with a top student," Katrina chuckled and smiled for dramatic effect. "He made us want to improve everyday and strive for the best for everything we do. I think it makes sense since Brother Yi is the Ministry of Education's Ambassador."
"That's true, you are very sweet, Miss. I can tell you're the team's ace."
"It's all thanks to Brother Yi's guidance."
The interview proceeds for another 30 minutes and their car leaves for the company.
Katrina scratched the interview from the to do list and told the driver, "Uncle, please stop at the boutique first. I need to take Brother Yi's clothes for the live stream."
"Got it, Miss."
"Huh, never knew you're a butt licker, Kitty Kat."
"It's called survival skill, Mr. Wu."
"Oh? You called me Brother Yi so fluently just now, why are you being formal again?"
"It's survival instinct," She shrugged and gave him a script. "Scriptwriter Shin Jaehyuk finally branched out to romance. We think 'The World of Stars' is the best project after this costume drama, the schedule is not tight and there's no clashing with your offline events."
"Who is this 'we'?"
"The Chairwoman and the VP of course."
"Then what do you think?"
"It's good, refreshing. It will show your best and new side because you're both at the top of your field."
"So you think I should take it?"
"Of course."
Katrina got Wu Yige's response the same time VP Lin and Wang Lin heard it.
"I won't do it."
"Why?!"
The duo could articulate their shock.
"You guys want me to do it, so I won't. I already do this costume drama under your order, why should I do another drama of your choice?"
Katrina stood up and left the room quietly.
Three months was enough time to understand that every time this happened, they would start arguing in loud voices that people might have misunderstood as fighting.
"Miss Shin?"
Katrina looked up from her phone and found another passenger in the elevator. She was too immersed in listing things to bribe Wu Yige with to notice she wasn't alone in the basement parking lot.
"Lawyer Qian, nice to meet you. I'm sorry my mind is somewhere else just now."
"I can tell."
Qian Kun was another legendary presence in Wang Media. He was a chef under Wang Lin's husband, but got interested in law after a DUI case of an actor was covered up and hurt his neighbor. He was full of anger and no law firm would represent the case.
He quit culinary school and passed the bar exam and entered law School in the same year. Qian Kun was recruited straight out of Law School by Wang Lin and was now the Legal Representative of Wang Media's Artist Division. He was the head team in charge of protecting and maintaining artists' legal rights.
Under his leadership, the artist was given strict education regarding legal responsibility of public figures. Qian Kun highlighted his hatred for DUI and if the artist under Wang Media did that, he'll personally send the person in jail for maximum time and ruin their career. Since then, the artist managers have had many trustworthy freelance drivers on their backs and calls.
"I thought the lawyers like the first floor parking better than the basement?"
"There's an emergency and I haven't been home for 3 days. I don't know where the security guard parked my car and it's actually here."
An idea flashed through her mind, "Lawyer Qian, this might be abrupt, but I can drive for you."
Unexpectedly, he gave the key peacefully; "Thank you, then."
Katrina opened the back passenger seat and eye to eye with the confused Qian Kun. "I'm sorry, it's an occupational habit."
Qian Kun closed the half open front seat and slid to the backseat instead, "It's good to be pampered sometimes. Thank you, Katrina."
She held her smile, the first step completed.
"Lawyer Qian, since you already call me Katrina, can I call you Brother Kun?"
"Sure," before she could say thank you he continued; "And tell me what's the favor you want to ask. I'm afraid I'll get used to this treatment."
Apparently, Katrina wasn't smooth enough, lol.
"Well, someone stalked my artist."
"Wu Yige? He's got a lot of stalkers, and I'm sure the security team monitored them."
"I've checked the list with the security team, this one wasn't listed. They smuggled cameras in various harmless gifts, but I checked them again with my personal scanner and still found them. The camera wasn't detected by the security machine, so I tracked down the airway bill and asked the office to call the sender, but it's inactive. I don't know a lot, but I know a dangerous situation when I see one."
Qian Kun was thoughtful; "Let me talk with the security specialist first. I'll let you know after this."
"Thank you, Brother Kun."
"Just FYI, you owe me breakfast for a month."
"Yes, sir!"

"What are you busy about?" Wu Yige lay on the sofa, hugging the pillow while scrolling on his phone.
"Translating your interview answers. We don't want a mistranslation to ruin your newfound fanbase in China."
The living room was full of typing sounds for a while.
Katrina stood up and stretched, "Finally!"
"It's done? Won't you let me see?"
"Just read it in the magazine, you'll get the first copy anyway."
Wu Yige sneered, "By the way, are you going or not?"
"Going where?"
"Neo reunion."
"Of course not, why would I?"
"Why? You don't want them to know you're actually working for your ex now?"
"Watch it, Wu Yige. We were just a school ambassador, we never dated. Everyone knows you've been bullying me since elementary school."
"Hey! I never bullied you, I'm protecting you from the bullies! Do you think you can live peacefully if I don't target you?"
The corner of her lips twitched and she left the living room.
Only Katrina knew she was oppressed and used by Wu Yige during their school times, those beauties back then?
They bullied her in the bathroom, spreading rumors that she seduced both Wu Yige and Lin Zhan, and went as far as writing a protest to have Katrina's debate champion title revoked for student misconduct.
Lin Zhan was protecting her indeed, but Wu Yige's kind of protection was something else. From making her his personal bag shuttle, making her do his homework, and daily meeting even on their day off.
Wu Yige could call it protection as it likes, but he knew damn well he was actually bullying her!
"Katrina!"
Wu Yige's anxious shout made her run, "What happened?"
"The hospital call, Lin Zhi got into the ER. Let's go!"
The duo went to the pediatric ward right away. It was thankfully the day of Lin Zhi's therapy and they were already in the hospital.
"Katrina!"
Wu Yige followed suit behind her and finally met the nanny.
"What happened?"
"Lin Zhi got an allergic reaction, I think she ate something with almond."
"But you never cook anything with her allergen, how come she's got an allergy?"
"Audrey is her therapy friend, she said a beautiful sister gave them chocolate."
"Where were you? How come a random stranger gives Lin Zhi food?"
"I was talking to the doctor, Miss Katrina. I'm sorry."
It was the first time Wu Yige found Katrina visibly furious. He was partially responsible as the nanny was here under his recommendation, and he said to the nanny, "Get some rest, you must've been shocked too. We'll stay here for now."
Hands on her shoulder, he stared at Katrina."Get a grip, Katrina. You'll make Lin Zhi worry."
The comforting scene fell into others' eyes as a caring guardian, but for a certain person, it was money.
