Chereads / Road to Stardom & Marrying Mr. Superstar / Chapter 8 - 8. First Filming Set

Chapter 8 - 8. First Filming Set

It was a week after the allergic incident and life resumed as usual again.

Katrina was reading Wu Yige's schedule while the man was masking his face with skin care.

He weakly waved his hand, signaling Katrina to stop reading. At this moment, the phone rang. Katrina picked up and as expected, the caller was looking for Wu Yige.

Wu Yige started chatting all over the place, gesturing to Katrina while chatting. Katrina took the script and packed it with the other luggage. The superstar finally agreed to play on 'The World of the Stars' and they were flying to a resort in Bali for a week.

Katrina heard Wu Yige talking about investing in a vinery once she was back.

It was probably a friend who asked him to become a shareholder. The vinery not only produced wines, but opened for tourist activity. The vinery was included in an estate they would turn into a resort and it would provide one-stop services for tourists.

It sounded very tempting until Katrina heard the initial investment was tens of millions.

Katrina thought to himself that Wu Yige probably agreed. How much net worth did he have? It was like a drop in the bucket for him, after all his money mostly went to his car racing hobby.

She was a business management's major, she knew a bit of asset management and to have this big mansion in this prime area already shows how prosperous his career was.

Wu Yige's main income was movies, but he earned much more by brand endorsement and offline events. Once he started acting in TV series, his bank account would be flooded with money.

Someone rang the bell and it was Brother Tae Yang, the road manager.

"Hi, Brother."

"So much luggages?"

"You know him."

The two shared a chuckle and loaded the trunk.

"So slow!"

Katrina ignored him and the van set out to the filming location.

The World of the Stars premise was an actor on vacation fell in love with the hotel staff. The other cast were rising stars from various agencies, but no one could compete for Wu Yige's starpower.

They check in to Wu Yige's suite, arrange his daily needs and the team rest at the same floor as the crew.

Tae Yang gave her the rundown on set and reminded her that her duty was to always be beside Wu Yige. The workload regarding filming was divided between Tae Yang and the other assistant, so Katrina must only focus on the life aspect of Wu Yige.

Simply put, Katrina was Wu Yige's errand girl. She must only focus on Wu Yige.

"When we arrive, I can't follow you the whole time when joining the crew for filming. It will be more difficult for you then." Tae Yang said, "It will be very confusing for the first time. If you don't understand anything, just ask Wu Yige."

Katrina noded.

"Try not to ask for autographs from celebrities.

"Except for necessary entertainment at night, you need to be the first to step in all matters. If someone wants to see him, you will say that he is too tired from filming and needs to make another appointment. If he has time, he will take the initiative to inform them.

"Be clear about fans or friends who come to visit him, you can chase them away when appropriate. You can be decisive, but don't be rude."

Tae Yang talked all the way, and finally sighed: "I know you won't lose your temper on him, I'm just afraid you can't handle these rogues."

"I will definitely remember it." Katrina said, "I'll ask Brother Yi if I don't understand."

"I have been his agent before." Tae Yang smiled, "I know how.. quirky Yige gets. Mr. Du Chen is Wu Yige's manager, but his new recruit just debuted, he was too busy. This filming is handed to my team and you. I'm counting on you, Katrina."

"I'll do my best, Brother Tae Yang."

Keeping Tae Yang's reminder in mind, Katrina wakes up at dawn. She arranged the English breakfast she got from the hotel, made his protein shakes, and turned on the humidifier.

Wu Yige always worked out in the morning and Katrina got his sportswear ready.

As long as this morning routine is undisturbed, Wu Yige's mood for the filming would be good.

Unfortunately, she was too optimistic.

As soon as they arrived at the set the coordinator greeted them, showing which tent belonged to Wu Yige.

Wu Yige smiled at the coordinator and said, "Where's Director Xu?"

The coordinator was a girl and smiled nervously: "Director Xu is having a meeting with the writers. It's scheduled for 6:30 in the evening. Let's eat together. After two months of filming, Actor Wu has the most and heaviest role. Thank you for your hard work. Here is the schedule for this week. The rest has not been arranged yet."

"The script is not ready?"

Wu Yige frowned slightly and answered by the coordinator: "Thank God, your first scene is the day after tomorrow or you'll have to act without a script."

"What do you mean?"

The coordinator said apologetically: "I really can't make it in time. Now we only have scenes in hand, and we haven't even finished writing the script."

Katrina: "..."

Katrina was speechless. How was this still possible? Then what was the script Wu Yige had been reading so far?

Wu Yige said, "Forget it."

The coordinator led Wu Yige and Katrina into the room and left.

Katrina took out his things and his mind was full of questions. Wu Yige sat down on the sofa and said, "Tea."

She handed him the mini thermos, and she saw him pour himself the barley tea with a calm face.

Calm face my ass!

Katrina knew those eyes were holding in his anger.

"If you don't understand, just ask." Wu Yige said impatiently.

Katrina could finally speak.

"How can we shoot if the script is not released?" Katrina asked.

"Random filming." Wu Yige said, "Serials are all done this way, and there are actors who randomly change the scripts."

"But you're the main lead, they should have your part ready.. Besides, then what's the point of those scripts you're reading?"

"Don't get worked up, this is the difference between filming a movie and a serial. There's too much unaccounted factor in the latter."

Katrina said, Wu Yige turned on the water and took a shower. Katrina asked again: "What should I prepare for tomorrow's filming?"

"Nothing." Wu Yige said, "Just be careful to block the fans. The crew already has security guards in charge. Just be more careful and don't let the fans rush in."

"Understood." Katrina hoped the stalker she thought of wasn't among them.

The filming finally began for Wu Yige, and aside from being responsible to be Wu Yige's shadow and beyond his call, Katrina was suspiciously free.

Tae Yang and his assistants were responsible for taking care of Wu Yige. Some were responsible for buying groceries and cooking, some giving Wu Yige massages, some running errands and fetching things for them, some holding umbrellas to fan him, and some waiting throughout the whole process. Some were carrying things outside the set, and some were responsible for serving meals to Wu Yige...

Because of the initial script hiccup, they hadn't had a meal together and finally on the third day of filming Director Xu gathered everyone for a meal. Since it was a hotel, they booked one of the restaurants and Katrina had to visit the private room for a while.

Wu Yige introduced Katrina as his Personal Assistant. When Katrina heard the names of several supporting characters, her heart was thunderous. She nodded carefully and smiled at them. When she looked at Wu Yige, Wu Yige seemed not very happy.

"Then I'll leave first. Have a good meal, Brother Yi."

Katrina came out of the room. The crew sat at several tables.

Someone waved at her and said, "Have you eaten yet? Come and eat together."

Katrina smiled modestly and came to sit down. The coordinator girl had seen her, she warmly invited her to sit down, and introduced to her that this was a recorder, that was a make-up artist, that was a dresser, the photography and photography apprentices sat at the same table, and the lighting and props filled the table, and so on and so forth.

Katrina was simply dizzy. It would take awhile for her to remember which was who.

"You are..."

"Logistics." The guy sitting next to Katrina said with a smile.

Katrina chatted with them for a while and found that they all seemed to know each other and had joined the group earlier than her.

The coordinator smiled and said, "Actor Wu is not arrogant at all, which reassures me a lot."

Katrina almost choked on her dumpling and immediately drank water to disguise her cough.

Katrina thought to herself, does this really count as not arrogant? Your requirements were too low…

She replied with a smile: "Yes, Brother Yi is also very good to his subordinates. He never scolds or yells, and his words are gentle and not mean. This is my first time on the set, so please take care of me. If there is anything I don't do well, please tell me."

"Oh.."

Everyone looked at her with understanding and envy, the voice was loud. As if this person has reached the sky in one step.
