<< Damn it! >> he shouted as he resumed the maneuver.
The second time it was softer and the plane didn't tip and remained stable. Once it reached the right altitude, it saw runway no. 5 lit up, but to its displeasure it realized that it didn't have much space to land, however it had to make a virtue of necessity.
It approached slowly after which it began its descent onto the runway by opening the landing gear, the tires touched the ground, slowing down the plane but the little electrical charge it had left did not allow the aircraft to brake more vigorously even though Leonardo saw the hangars approaching with worrying speed.
<< Stop damn it! >> he shouted, pushing the control joystick towards himself with all the strength he had in his body.
"What the hell is he doing? >> thought the colonel seeing him.
The plane's wheels screeched against the asphalt enough to start making smoke while the hangars were now a few meters from the T-38.
Leonardo didn't know what else to do, he was following the manual for landing in low battery conditions to the letter and yet it didn't seem to work.
<< Stop! >> he shouted one last time.
The T-38 began to slow down noticeably and right next to the hangars it stopped its run making him breathe a long sigh of relief, it seemed like he had done it on purpose just to scare him a little and say <
Leonardo threw his back backwards on the seat, took off his helmet and unfastened the seat belts while the roof slowly opened allowing him to breathe the icy winter air, a real panacea to cool his hot spirits.
He slowly got off the plane but when his feet touched the ground he felt an unexpected sensation of boredom as if he didn't feel good, it seemed to him that the monotonous firmness of the ground had become futile and boring compared to the action experienced in flight.
He was caught off guard by that feeling as he expected to feel relief and peace for having escaped the danger, but in that very moment a spark lit up inside him, he felt that the flight belonged to him, forgetting what he felt at take-off, now he wanted to fly again to relive the same emotions.
The colonel approached his T-38 and, checking the cockpit, was surprised to find that he had done everything alone as Pandora was deactivated, and was astonished because no one had ever managed to tame a T so well on the first takeoff in his life. -38 which she called "The Bull of Pamplona".
<< This little boy has some talent, he will go a long way. He reminds me of someone >> she thought to herself looking up at the sky while a slight smile graced her face.
