Chapter 38 - Dora the Explorer

Flower yawned. She glanced down, she exhaled.

Since Flower couldn't catch a wink of sleep during the night. She had used the opportunity to come up with a plan. Flower had spent all night tinkering, and all that she could come up with was what she was presently thinking.

All she just need was a little bit of light so that she would be able to secure the plan into action without any negativity. Even now, it wasn't still bright enough, therefore, Flower had to wait for about half an hour.

But to Flower she didn't really realized that she was waiting for about half an hour, all she knew was that she waited for some more minutes. Since she had no wristwatch or clock.

Flower could finally see clear enough, but not fully. But either ways it was manageable. She elevated herself from the sitting position she was assuming, and then carefully, she climbed up the tree more.

Using and applying all her willpower and strength. She managed to break down a long part of the tree, since the tree was already slightly weak, so breaking some portions of it shouldn't really hurt too much.

Flower rapidly clasped the long tree branch which she had managed and struggled to break down from the tree before it fell down. Because if it was to fall down then it would really be a waste of effort having to cut it in the first place.

Flower clasped it tightly. She used the tree branch to measure her height, then she saw that the tree branch was slightly taller than her. Then slowly, she climbed down the tree, and when she was about to reach the snow.

Flower dipped the long tree branch into the snow, to know exactly where it would reach for the snow, whether it would swallow it wholly or just a little out of it. Flower continued to dip the tree branch into it until it eventually stop going deeper.

She now saw that it only consumed half of the tree branch, and the tree branch was only about four inches taller than her. Which means if she was to enter the snow, then she would be consumed by it until it reached her belly.

"Oh heavens!" she mumbled.

Flower was still a bit scared, but then she knew that staying in one place would do her no good. So, yes, she had no choice but to attempt it.

'Good decision or not, here I come,' she decided inwardly. She exhaled. Then sluggishly, she climbed down the tree. And finally after a long contemplation, Flower finally let go of the tree and jump down into the snow.

Upon entering the snow. She panicked. But then she was sure that she wouldn't die from being suffocated by it and besides, the snowstorm had already paused itself, so she had nothing to worry about, but still.

The snow kept sinking her, it consumed her feets, knees, thighs, waist. Flower who had thought that it was going to stop at her stomach was very bewildered when it didn't stop there.

She became very scared, and without a second thought, she began seeking the tree for saving and salvation. Thinking that she was going to lose her life, but then to her surprise, shortly after wrapping her arms around the tree, the snow stop consuming her lower body.

Flower realized this, a little reluctant to let go of the tree at first. Still having some doubts about the whole situation, that perhaps the snow was just playing some pranks on her.

Eventually, after a lot of ponderings, she finally made a bold decision and proceeded to let go of the tree and stood firmly, with the snow consuming her body until it reached her chest and stopped.

She finally heaved a voluminous sigh. She held the reins of her satchel and advanced forth gently. Shoving aside the snow with her hands.

Having to pack the snow aside before moving was creating setbacks for her and slowing down her pilgrims, but then at least she was making progress and not getting stuck atop the tree waiting for the snow to lessen and melt down. That would take ages.

Flower strived her way through with a lot of gruntings and whinings. She was so cold, that her hand were already starting to produce frostbites. She ignored all this and continued. Besides she could do close to nothing about it.

Flower sneezed. Quickly wiping away the slimy liquids and spatters that came out from the sneeze with her sleeves as usual, and then she continued walking. Her body trembled severely. Her teeths kept chattering by themselves intensely, and white steams came out of her mouth with every chances they get to clench.

"We go again today," she fumfered with an eye roll.

Clearly and obviously, one would be able to comprehend that Flower was already fatigued about having to pilgrim, especially with an empty stomach. She almost felt like crying, percepting that she wouldn't be having anything to eat too today, but then after pondering about it over and over, she had eventually admitted her fate.

Flower could feel her frail toes, haggard knees, groggy thighs and every part of her pallid body that was dipped in the snow starting to quiver precipitously. It was as though she was cursed to carry all this burdens.

Blinded by all the thick fogs implicated by the results of excess thoughts and ponderings. Flower lost her stance and fell into the snow, however, it wasn't a truculent one as one would have been prompt in assuming. She fell into the soft comforts abode of the snow with some part of her body still dipped into the snow.

She would have enjoyed such comfortable and soft snow as a pillow and bed, but then it was just too freezing. And then it might end up suffocating her to death if she ever attempted such.

Appearing like, and just like Dora the explorer, Flower made her fugitives attempts further into the wilderness and farther away from that prison yard of a mansion, owned by that scoundrel of a werewolf. The only difference between Flower and Dora the explorer was that Dora the explorer basically just explores for fun and adventure, and most importantly, she normally explores out of her own accord. While, our beautiful Flower here wasn't really exploring out of pure fun, rather it was out of unmatched agony and overwhelming dread of being controlled for the rest of her life, and not getting to meet her mother ever again.

Flower aimed her face forward. Analyzing the front view of where she was going. She could sensed that she was initially getting more closer to the hill which she had once dreaded. Approximately, if not halted and disturbed or even distracted by any disasters, problems and snowstorm, Flower would likely arrive at the hill slope by evening.

Flower was having a little hope about the hill slope and what might be hidden across it. Thinking that perhaps, across the hill slope intercept, she would manage to locate some people there and also manage to try and get through to them in order to withdraw information from them.

No one could possibly blame Flower for thinking like so. That mysterious snow covered hill literally appeared as though it was hiding some kind of derns at the other side of it. It looked quite unspeakably mysterious. Thus all that Flower was acknowledging in her head now was to reach the hill top by evening and then the sliding or climbing the hill slope which was covered in snow, operation and plans will be decided the next day.

All the roads seems confusing to Flower, it was all made by nature in a zigzag pattern. So Flower could only do her best to understand the road and manage to travel safely.

The snow presently deemed soft, pure, white and soft, when truly, for Flower who was digging it up with her hands and gathering it aside just to make a way for herself to pass, it was absolutely freezing.
