Afterwards, Flower was done creating the trap. She promptly reach out for her satchel, opening her zipper, she clasped the food container which she had used yesterday to pack food from the mansion, she closed back her satchel.
And then carefully, she fixed the food container on the trap. She made sure to put in all her efforts in creating a perfect trap, knowing fully that the better the trap the better the catch. She exhaled, and then smiled slightly, seeming satisfied with what she had created.
She lifted herself up, and went away from her alleged shelter and towards a small snow filled bush. She bent slightly and set the trap in the bush. Flower wasn't too sure that she might catch a prey, however, she made sure to maintain hope, just like she had been doing beforehand.
Flower unassumed a bending position and stood upright. She slothfully like a drunkard went back towards her so-called shelter. Flower soon reached her shelter.
Acknowledging the disturbing coldness overwhelming her, Flower immediately bent down and wore back her hoodie so as not to turn into an ice sculpture. Still yet, she was still feeling the pungent bone-chilling, glacial cold wind of Alaska. Flower wrapped her arms around herself and shivered tenderly.
She exhaled and warm steams came out of her mouth. Ignoring the overwhelming coldness, she instantaneously went back to work. She gathered the remaining sticks and then skillfully, she created a fire with the help of the stick as she had been taught by her teacher back then. In no time, the little fire turned into flames and burned beautifully, dancing in the air and spreading its warmth.
Flower smiled, she was exceptionally pleased by how the fire turned out. She hastily moved further to it. Casting both her hands upon it to reduce the coldness she was experiencing. Flower moved so close to the burning fire to the extent of almost putting all her whole body in the fire, just to share its warmth.
Compared to before, Flower was always making sure that she always maintained a good distance from fire. Normally, in every typical home, one would have always been taught by their parents that playing with fire is a bad habit and when they grew up they will also learn to understand that playing with fire is a very bad thing. Nevertheless, presently, that rule doesn't apply to Flower in anyway and she also knew that if she didn't want to die due to the bone-chilling weather, she had to disobey her mother's teachings about always staying away from any raging fire.
Gradually, gradually, Flower could feel her body receiving heat with every seconds that abscond. She stayed more closer to the fire and shared it warmth.
Later on, Flower glanced at the sky to inspect it. She could see that it had gotten darker than before and that within an hour or two the snowstorm will reveal its true capacity. Lucky for Flower she had managed to locate a suitable shelter which will last her for as long as the snowstorm continued.
Flower looked away from the sky, and around her. She sat beside the fire calmly, reminiscing back to some happy moments which she had ever experienced in her entire lifetime. One of them being the day that Julius proposed to her on her nineteenth birthday party celebration.
Not much people were invited to her birthday, however, Amanda was there and Flower's mother too was present there, including some friends.
It was such an happy occasion and Flower couldn't contain her emotions back then and began to shed tears after accepting the ring and they had also shared a kiss in front of everyone. Everything was worth remembering for Flower, and to top it, Julius was her first boyfriend whom she had been familiar with since childhood.
Flower wrapped her arms around her knees, her eyes had already refused to produce any tears. She just sat there like an ice sculpture and her face was filled with excess longing akin to her moody state.
At least crying would have lessen her pain and relief her of her sorrows and sufferings. However now that her eyes had refused to start producing tears, Flower could only grew more and more depressed with every minutes that drifted by and her heart too became all the more sweer.
Flower quickly unwrapped her hands from her knee, and then she aimed it on her chest atop her heart. She did this because her heart was palpitating profusely, it perceived as though her heart was going to fallout soon, or perhaps she was going to suffer an heart attack. Flower pressed both her palms more intensely on her chest, hoping to calm her palpitating heart.
She panted profusely. And then white steams occupied her mouth.
Flower sneezed. She wiped the spatters away from her lips and the mucus away from her nose area. She sneezed once again.
'I think that perhaps I might be coming down with a fever.' She sighed.
'If I could just find some herbs around here. I might be able to make some herbs for myself.'
'I can still perfectly remember the herbs which my wildlife teacher had once thought me about back then. I think those leafs can be found close to any type of water source.'
'But then… all the water source here has been frozen. I doubt that there would be any of those herbs here anyways. There's hardly any bushes and trees with leafs here. Almost all the trees are leafless and iced, I would just be wasting my time trying to find any cold relieving herbs here.'
'All I can only do now is to pray that this snowstorm shouldn't happen. Or else I might end up turning into an iceberg.'
'Oh heavens!'
Flower shivered in uncontrollable dread. Promptly moving more closer to the bonfire, she casted her hands and face upon it once again and snatched from its delicate warmth.
Flower yawned. Her body ached painfully and trembled severely due to the cold. Withdrawing her hands away from the bonfire, she used one of them to cover her mouth whilst yawning. She already percept that she was feeling quite sleepy. But she couldn't sleep just yet, because it's literally still afternoon and additional a snowstorm will soon appear.
So therefore until the snowstorm has arrived, that's when Flower would be able to sleep soundly on the tree. Flower was certain that wild animals wouldn't be able to get to her or come near her dwelling, simply because, she had already created a fire and animals are always afraid of fire. This was part of the reasons why she wasn't scared eventhough the soon to come snowstorm had already overwhelmed the sky and surroundings with black shades of hue and utter darkness.
'I've been walking around for a long time now. This place really seem to be void of human beings.'
She sighed, 'Does this really mean that what that scoundrel was telling me was true? Oh heavens!' She grunted.
Flower shivered sheepishly as she thought of all that, hence she moved more closer to the bonfire. She continued moving more closer to it, until she accidentally burnt her fingers. She whimpered in pain and quickly deeped her finger towards and into the snow so as to reduce the burning sensation.
'Anytime I think of that scoundrel, something bad always seems to happen to me.'
'It would only do me some good if I don't ever think about him anymore.'
Flower then removed her finger from her mouth and proceeded to place them in her mouth, sucking it like a pacifier as though she was a toddler.
'I better go and check out my trap.'
With that thought, Flower promptly lifted herself up and walk haggardly towards the direction where she set up the trap. Upon getting there, she inspected the trap without bothering to touch it, moreover the trap might assume her hand as a prey and then clutch it firmly which might create a severe injury on her hand. Thus, Flower only analyze it with her eyes.
It turns out no animal had been caught yet. Henceforth without wasting anytime, Flower immediately went back to her shelter to stay close to the bonfire and warm herself up. Staying away from the bonfire just for a little while was already affecting her and making her feel excess cold.
Hence she couldn't wait much longer in the excruciating cold whilst her beautiful, warm bonfire go to waste, no she couldn't. She went back to her shelter and sat down. Then she enjoyed the warmth radiating from the fire.
Some hours later, and as expected. The snowstorm began to showcase itself, it was a very heavy one and it even exceeded Flower's anticipation. Flower was expecting it to be heavy, but not as heavy as this. It dispersed, abundant cold wind into the already cold environment, making it more unfathomably cold.
White mist covered the whole environment like thick smoke. Flower had never experienced such in her life, the snow had already occupied half of the earth surface. That is to say if someone like Flower was to step on it, then she would be swallowed by the snow until it reached her thighs.
Fortunately for Flower, she had made the right decision by looking for a suitable tree to sleep atop. Therefore, presently, she was laying uncontrollably but manageably on the tree, with her eyes widely opened and staring away into the sorrowful night and into the misery weather.
The bonfire had already died a long time ago as the snow increased. It was evening already and nighttime was drifting more closer and closer with every blink of an eye. Flower hung on the tree lost and hopeless like a fruit. Looking all ghast and pale.
She continued to stare at the surroundings and then at the sky. Although the sky was heavily guarded by chunky, dark clouds. The sky still manage to produce a tiny bit of light. Flower could still manage to see the moon, it was blur and round, the moon at present was a full moon. But then, it didn't matter, Flower doesn't care about the moon, all that she cared about was surviving.
Flower looked away from the sky, and then around her. Soon she drifted off to sleep.
