Chapter 43 - What Lies Beneath the Mysterious Hill Slope

Nightfalls.

There is always these saying that goes like this; All evils alive or otherwise, buried or out in the open, tends to lurks and resides in the corners of the streets as soon as the last trace of the sunlight vanishes away from the beautiful horizons above.

Originally the night has an eerie aura of its own, even without it being possessed by any evil spirits. It always possess a deafening aura that can penetrates one's soul, especially when one's hands is unclean and unholy. Or perhaps when one is an evildoer.

It was night already. Misery kept crying out to the night as birds chirps and tweets from the east, west, south and north subsequently agglomerated the peripherys in a comprehensive manner. And howling of different types of unknown animal also could be derived from the dark night and underneath the black full moonlit night.

Treading such a nasty, uncanny and hair-raising province isn't really something that could and should be decided in a day, even if possible it should be decided with a lot of thoughts, attentions, assumptions and bravery, but then that testimony has been objected by Flower who basically intended and designed her ulterior motives and sinister tactics for only about half a day and accomplished it literally out of pure luck and determination.

Although initially the sun had dazzled and illuminated and danced pulchritudinously all about the sky in the whole afternoon. Smoldering the sky with its sheens, and dismantling all the black shades of hue and bone-chilling glacial weather that could freeze one to death and redesign one's structure into that of an ice sculpture. However, presently, the bone-chilling coldness which had once been provoked into elimination by the illuminating sunlight has natural returned from its long vacation.

The night was excessively hiemal and as cold as a witch's kiss. The formal coldness had resumed, but fortunately, it doesn't look as though it would snow soon, so therefore, Flower was sure to impose equanimous upon her already ruffled mind.

Nighttime surprisingly appeared poised tranquil and sedated, although this makes the place deems more safe to pilgrim, however to Flower it made the place especially bizarre, eerie and scary. The sky was as clear as crystals, no dark clouds could be seen scrutinously uniting with it.

Just four more in-depth steps and boom Flower would find herself staring down at what lies beneath the mysterious hill slope.

"Almost there," fatigued Flower murmured those vague words, partly happy and partly nervous. It would have been nice if she had gotten here earlier than expected, in that way, she would be able to snatch better view of the abode with her tantalizing big adorable babyish eyes.

Taking those four steps were like mounting the highest, largest and elongated hill in the whole wide world. After taking the first step, she immediately went for the second, and afterwards the third and then the fourth.

A satisfying smile manifested itself upon Flower's voluptuous appearing lips. A smile that could only be described as the best and most greatest gift that could be given to someone who just accomplished an hard goal all alone, without the help of a single soul.

She panted passionately as the wind perpetuate sending her black hairs dancing backwards, her eyes filled with profound sensation of happiness and determination. Mere and ordinary words couldn't define and ascribe the sensation she was discerning and the joyful feeling that was circulating through her whole being at present.

She released the stick which she had cut off from the tree earlier, and which she had acquaint in providing support enforcement for herself when her legs hurt and she felt haggard, away from her grasp. Shoving it aside as though she had never needed its hospitality before.

She gave a quick stretch to her wrinkled, fatigued and extremely chilly and haggard body. With that done, she sniffed the air atmosphere around her with a smile on her voluptuous lips. Although the atmosphere smelt like a nasty forest, but be it as it may, Flower thought it perceived delightfully and pleasing, as it is, when one is overly happy and in a glorious mood, they tend to ignore everything else either good or bad and only focus on the thing that happened that made them happy, while they totally ignore everything else around. Meaning Flower was still overwhelmed by the immerse sensation of happiness.

She looked down at the spontaneously distant, dangerous and disturbing mysterious hill slope from the peak where her little stature was fixated atop. Then an in-depth, sorrow-ridden look of forlorns, threne and morose manipulated her happy face. She presently now look elegiac and dejected all of a sudden, with the reason being that she couldn't see unobstructively what lies beneath the mysterious hill slope today again.

Simply because, it was already too obscure and gloomy. Only the full moonlight wasn't enough to showcase and accommodate Flower with the type of light which she was searching for, a type of light that could penetrate darkness and that will be enough to shine illuminatingly beneath the mysterious hill slope and show its bottom clearly.

Flower heaved an outrageous sigh. She stood with both her arms curved atop her waist, leaving them at an akimbo. She ran her hands across her hairs frustratedly, her brains were already starting to put two and two together, trying to come up with a plan for the night.

Flower knew already that it was dark, partly because it's literally obvious, that aside, she also knew very well that she wouldn't be able to go down the mountain today again, it basically isn't possible, not that it wasn't her who chose to. Going down the hill even during the daytime was sure to enhance imminent dangers, talkless of having to go down the hill during the nighttime, it would definitely be perilous. Especially for someone as fragile and groggy as her.

Her spontaneous excitement soon fade, she was sad because she couldn't see what lies beneath the mysterious snow covered hill due to the absence of light. And not only that, because she would also have to wait all the way to the next morning before having to climb it down, Flower hated such.

However, she had no choice whatsoever, so yes, Flower was going to wait patiently till the sunrises tomorrow. Then tomorrow, she would continue her fugitives. Although she was outright saddened about the fact that staying another night on the hill top would lower her fugitive rate, nevertheless, she also hasten herself in not forgetting about the fact that she had finally mount that mysterious snow covered hill which basically caused her anxiety and swift nervousness, to the top.

This was an achievements in a different prospective. She shouldn't be too overcome by pride and not pay acknowledgements to her little wins.

Thus, this made Flower forced herself to still cheerup amidst feeling dejected and blue. Flower's smiles had long faded completely, the moment she percept that what lies beneath the mysterious hill slope was nothing but intimidating darkness due to the obscure night and absence of sunlight.

She exhaled, "Oh well…" she muttered.

'I'll just have to wait till tomorrow to see what's under and around it. Hopefully, it would be a pile of snow and shops of people who will be willing to help me,' she thought, 'I just hope that I find help soon. I'm starting to lose hope. Oh heavens!'

Unassuming an akimbo, Flower's knees pallidly dropped to the floor, and so did her other body parts, making the snow occupied ground their profound home. Flower sniffled her runny nose, wiping it away with her sleeves wiltingly. She sat still, quietly, hopeless, tiredly and crestfallen. Her adorable eyes were filled with forlorn hopes and unfathomable longings.

The snow was exhilaratingly thrilled with coldness, a bone-chilling wintry coldness which was capable of killing, if one stays too long inside. Even so, sitting amidst the tormenting heimal snow didn't bother Flower. She was already growing quite numb to such feelings. As it is, one tends to grow found of whatever situation which they kept meeting themselves occasionally.

Literally Flower was meant to be down, she had every right to be. She had basically been wearing the same clothes for three days straight, and had even barely had a good meal from day one. Although she seemingly appeared pitifully, but then again, one could also assume it with certainty that definitely, Flower was the one responsible for bringing all these upon herself.

As if to say that Flower had remained with good old Anthony the great, the attractive man whom she dreaded and whom she considered to be nothing but a good-for-nothing creepy scoundrel of a werewolf. She wouldn't have had to live like this, like a church rat and like a cheap begger alongst the alleyway. Just as they say, half of our problems are being caused by us ourselves, but we might just choose to blame it on others, Just like Flower was doing with Anthony.

Although if she decided to stay, she wouldn't be able to meet her sweet mother whom she craved for, and longs to meet, but would have lived as comfortably as ever with no stress whatsoever, to enjoy luxury and gifts. But again as they say, trying to understand a woman, is like trying to find the ends of the earth.
