The old woman sighed tiredly. She thought that only children could prove to be this stubborn, she didn't know that adults too could be so stubborn like so.
"My name is Regina Alexander. I'm an housekeeper," the old woman uttered. With her earlier smile still currently present on her face. "What's your name, Young Lady?" She asked.
Flower's face burnt red in rage, she couldn't contain her anger. This people are pathetic and hopeless, they were speaking as though they had been programmed to say so. Flower was presently exhibiting complete realization about something.
'Could they both be under a spell? Or are they programmed robots? They look so hopeless, something isn't right here. I'm sure of it,' Flower thought. 'I won't ask them anything anymore. I don't think they would answer me anyways. I should just comply with them until I get a chance to meet Young Master.'
Soon enough, Flower stated; "My name is Flower Thompson, I'm from Florida. How about you?" She asked, hopefully, they might reply this question. Since it's not pertaining to herself.
Flower looked down at the teacup Regina was pointing towards her. She was a little reluctant in receiving it. Probably wondering if there might be any evil intentions behind it.
'But, they had saved my life while I was still unconscious. If they had ever had any intention in killing or poisoning me, then they would have done it while I was in coma.'
With this thoughts. Flower was abundantly certain that she was save in accepting the tea and gulping it.
She clenched the teacup.
"Thank you," Flower stated.
The old woman stared at Flower after she had received the teacup from her. She was looking at her as though waiting for her to drink it up in her present.
Regina's stare gave Flower a little feeling of uneasiness. She knew that Regina probably wanted her to drink it in her presence. Although Flower was planning to drink it before, but now that Regina was staring at her with piercing intensity as though wanting her to drink it quickly. Flower was now welcoming a second thought about drinking the tea.
"Drink up," Regina said, her face was still smiling slightly as always.
Flower nodded. Bleakly, she uplifted the cup, placing it towards her mouth. She felt a little bit anxious.
'Here goes nothing, I guess.'
She exhaled.
In one goal, she swallowed the tea.
'Surprisingly, it taste pretty delicious,' She thought. 'I have never tasted anything like this in my entire life. I wonder what type of medicine was added to it. Aren't medicine supposed to be bitter eventhough they were added to sweet things.'
"Do you like it?" Regina questioned.
"Yes I do," Flower assured.
Although, Flower could be a little arrogant and presumptuous sometimes. This doesn't mean that she would shy away from the truth, especially when it's needed. In particular, Regina hadn't really offended Flower, except for that she was ignoring her questions. Other than that, the old woman appeared nice.
Regina snickered, "I'm glad you do, Young Lady," she replied. "It is called a camomile tea. It was taught to me back then by my mother. And as you have asked earlier, I'm from India, and the tea is also a native to India."
Flower was a little startled that the woman had gradually reciprocated to her words. Now her feelings of annoyance was pallidly departing away from her.
'It turns out this woman just wanted me to accept the tea before starting to converse with me. Well… not bad,' Flower thought. 'Perhaps they weren't both robots like I had assumed earlier. Does this also means that if I ask her for a phone, or about my colleagues, she would respond? No, no, I shouldn't push my luck. But then, I don't see any fault in trying.'
'I'll give it a try then. Again, here goes nothing,' she decided in her mind.
"Mrs Regina. I've asked you earlier about my colleagues, did Young Master bring two people in? A lady and a man, we were all involved in the accident together. Are they in the other rooms?" Flower asked. "Please reply, have you seen them? Yes or no? You can even give me a nod. I don't mind."
Flower uttered. Almost breaking down in tears, her eyes were already watery. In only matters of minutes, the tears would start to drip down unwaveringly.
Her body was trembling in fear of what she might hear next. Fortunately, it wouldn't be that her colleagues were both dead. And unfortunately, it might be elsewise. This was all that was dispersing fear into Flower's mellow hearts.
Regina saw how heartbroken Flower looked. She wasn't a wicked person, of course not. Flower had done little to nothing in offending her, Regina had already deemed Flower as a sweet lady who was only being protective over herself and her loved ones. Especially her blood sister whom she might have lost in the accident.
"Young Lady. I'm sorry," the old woman responded. "I have no knowledge about what might have happened to your colleagues. Just like Horatio had said earlier, it was only you that Young Master brought back from the wilderness. I'm glad you made it safely to us, and that you're fine now."
Regina paused.
"Hopefully, a courageous helper just like our Young Master would also have found your colleagues and helped them too. Please don't cry Young Lady, be at peace." Regina comforted her.
Regina took the empty teacup from Flower. She then elevated herself from the bedside in order to place the teacup away.
Flower sat still on the bed. She was absolutely shattered, she had lost two dearest people in her live, just in one goal. A sister and a soon-to-be husband, indeed it was tragic.
She shed tears continuously. Sniffling every now and then. She panted as her heart felt heavy as though it didn't belonged to her.
Quickly, she wiped her tears away. Turning towards Horatio who stood at a corner perceiving everything that was going on with Flower. But he also had a pitiful expression on his face, seeing that Flower was crying. Anyways, what could he do about it? He couldn't possibly bring back people that were dead.
"Is Young Master around?" Flower asked with an hoarse voice. "I need to discuss somethings with him, urgently, is he around?"
Horatio shooked his head, "No, Young Lady. He isn't around at the moment," he replied.
"Oh…" Flower couldn't help but want to cry more and more after hearing this. She just wanted to cry out all her sorrows and lamentations. This way it would ease her of the heavy burden she was feeling inside.
Her body kept quivering.
She gritted her teeth intensely, causing them to bleed with profusion.
After crying and crying.
Somehow, Flower began to feel pallid and pale. A sudden urge to sleep endowed her. She couldn't help but want to sleep immediately. Her hands began to feel unfathomably heavy for her to carry, her eyelids were starting to close on there own.
Realization dawned on her about what was happening to her, and the sudden feeling that was conflating her, "You!" She pointed towards Regina.
"What did you put in that tea. I can't believe you would try to poison me after consoling me that everything was going to be alright…"
Her words were pervaded, since she couldn't move her tongues anymore. Flower attempted to speak some more, however, nothing came out.
From the sitting position she had once assumed. Flower's body fell backwards, slamming itself against the bed surface with acceleration.
In no time, Flower was fast asleep. She layed atop the bed as quiet as a snowflake. Her body were unmoving. Only the slow and dull movement coming from her belly which was moving upwards and downwards perpetually, was the only clue that made it obvious that she was still alive.
"Poor girl," Regina commented. "Loosing some loved ones can be so heartbreaking sometimes. Well… gradually, she would heal out of it and grow into a more powerful woman. As they say, every suffering is a blessing in disguise."
"I hope so," Horatio replied shortly. "I'll go and call Young Master right away, and inform him that Young Lady has regained consciousness and want to see him. He had initially asked that we should inform him if Young Lady is awake, beforehand."
"I'll cover her up with the blanket. It's very cold," Regina said. "With the medicine I gave her. By the time she wake up, her internal injuries would have healed up completely."
"It's funny that Young Lady thinks you would try to kill her. Who could blame her anyways? She has been through a lot already," Horatio added.
Regina sniggered, "I dare not attempt that," Regina guaranteed.
"I'll get going now. Take care of her," Horatio said, bidding his farewell.
"No problem," She complied.
With that said, Horatio merged himself in between the door and went away from the room with immediate alacrity. While Regina did exactly what she had once said she would do beforehand.
