Chapter 47 - Chapter 47: Drive Them Out

James' face showed a hint of disgust as he spoke, "Serena, look at what kind of people you've hired as servants! You are responsible for this!"

It was the first time that James had been so angry with her. Serena was both anxious and angry. She raised her hand and slapped Olivia's face hard. The sound of the slap echoed in the room. "Auntie, what's wrong with you?"

"Don't call me auntie! Look at what you've done, do you not know you're wrong? Get out of here today!"

"No... Auntie, I don't want to go back. I don't want to go back!" Olivia cried and tried to hold onto Serena, but her expression made Olivia freeze.

"Olivia, pack up your things and leave now!"

Seeing that Serena was really angry, Olivia bit her lip in fear and retreated her hand. She may be foolish, but she knew that she couldn't control the situation. With tears in her eyes, she turned around to leave, but then Diana shouted, "Don't leave so easily, Olivia! You ripped my dress, and you need to compensate me for it!"

"Diana, Olivia only earns a small salary every month. Even if you sold her, you still wouldn't be able to pay for that dress," Serena looked at Diana with a complicated expression. Diana was still not satisfied and Serena was getting annoyed.

"Although you can't afford it, take out all your savings, and I won't hold you accountable for the rest," Diana said, holding her arms and acting magnanimous. Olivia's salary was indeed not much, but she had earned a lot of money secretly in the Thompson family. She couldn't take any of that money out!

"I earned this money myself. I won't give it to you. How can I live if I give it to you?" Olivia refused to give her money. As soon as Diana mentioned her money, Olivia immediately put on a tantrum and almost started rolling on the ground.

Diana ignored her, "If you don't pay, I'll call the police. This dress is not ordinary, and if we really look into it, you might spend the rest of your life in jail."

"You... are you kidding me?" Olivia's face turned pale. Diana was being petty over a dress. Was it necessary to threaten her like that?

"Try me," Diana said, threateningly.

Olivia immediately backed off, "I'll pay... I'll compensate you." If worst came to worst, she could ask for money from Serena when she left.

Diana flashed a smile that lacked warmth and turned her gaze towards June, saying, "You too, roll out!"

June stood still, pleadingly looking towards Serena, as if waiting for her to speak up.

Serena was about to speak when she saw Diana hug James' arm and pout, "Dad, look at this. The servants in our house don't listen to me anymore. They do everything according to Ms. Stewart's mood. What is this!"

Serena quickly said, "Diana, what are you talking about? You're Ms.Thompson. How could the servants not listen to you?" She said this, but what if James thought too much!

"Well, I want her to roll out too! Blaming Ms. Taylor for not doing things well. I'm so annoyed with this kind of person!" Diana exclaimed.

James looked at the sulking Diana and rubbed her head, saying, "Diana is right. If you can't do things properly and end up making my daughter unhappy, you'll have to leave!"

"After this, I also want to be involved in hiring household staff. After today's incident, I don't think Ms. Stewart has good judgment when it comes to people," Diana said stubbornly. She was naturally a bit bossy, so others didn't find it unusual. Serena frowned. Did this mean that Diana would also meddle in Thompson family's internal affairs in the future?

"Husband, people can make mistakes. Anyone can misjudge someone. I'll be more careful in the future. Diana is still young, and she's not good at handling these things," Serena whispered.

But facing Diana's coquetry, James couldn't resist and said offhandedly, "Let Diana participate too. Otherwise, we'll end up hiring people who make her unhappy, and that's annoying."

"Thank you, Dad!" Diana exclaimed happily and leaned her head against James' arm. James, who had always been conservative, couldn't help but soften a little. Seeing this, Serena had to swallow her words.

As soon as she achieved her goal, Diana immediately reached out to June and said, "Give me the keys!"

June stood still, somewhat awkwardly reaching into her pocket and taking out the keychain. Then, slowly, she handed it over to Diana. In this moment, she suddenly remembered the enigmatic smile Diana had given her when she gave her the key. Had she already foreseen today's events back then?! No, that's impossible! June blinked, suppressing her speculation. This must have been a coincidence... but whether it was accidental or deliberate, she would never know in this lifetime. Because from now on, she could not step foot into this place again.

After dealing with the two of them, Diana's face darkened, revealing a hint of disdainful coldness. "Finally, they're gone!"

James touched her head. "It's okay. Dad will give you more money later, and you can buy whatever dress you want!"

"I know the designer of this dress, I can have him make another one for you," Andrew added, trying to comfort her.

"No need, I'm fine. It's just a dress after all. The most important thing is that Ms. Taylor didn't get hurt!" Diana said with a smile. This dress was a gift from John, and even though it was not easy to let it go, having Andrew make another one would not have the same meaning, so there was no need to go through the trouble.

Ms. Taylor stood aside, feeling moved. Diana defending her like this today reminded her of the late Mrs. Thompson . In her memory, that lady was always mischievous, but unfortunately passed away at a young age...

Seeing that Diana's mood was not affected, James felt relieved and went downstairs. Andrew and Colin also breathed a sigh of relief and were about to leave when Diana suddenly shouted, "Andrew, where's the self-defense weapon you bought for me today?"

"It's in my car. Why?" Andrew was puzzled.

Diana grinned, showing a mysterious smile. "Nothing, I just want to try it out and see if it works well."

It was nighttime in the villa area of Cloud City. Olivia dragged her suitcase and muttered to herself as she walked along the road. She had been kicked out in the middle of the night, and all her money had been stolen. She had been living with the Thompsons for years, and now they were leaving her penniless and sending her back to her hometown. The more Olivia thought about it, the angrier she became.

"Is it really worth it for just one dress? Why are they all like this!" Thinking of her ordeal tonight, she felt increasingly frustrated. Fortunately, she had managed to beg Serena for tens of thousands of dollars, otherwise she would have wasted all these years for nothing.

As Olivia walked and muttered to herself, she was about to hail a taxi outside when she suddenly saw two bright headlights behind her. She stepped aside to the side of the road, but to her surprise, the car stopped right beside her. It was a white Porsche, and it looked somewhat familiar? Wait a minute! It's Andrew! Olivia was stunned for a moment and then showed great joy. Was he here to take her away?! She quickly straightened her clothes and waited for Andrew to get out.

At that moment, the back door of the car opened, and to her expectant gaze, someone walked out. It was Diana!

"What are you doing here?!" Olivia blurted out in surprise.

Diana had her hands behind her back, and she approached Olivia step by step, squinting her black grape-like eyes and smiling like a little fox. "I'm here to give you a ride. Don't you welcome me?"

"What...what do you want?!" Olivia realized something was wrong and couldn't help taking a step back. "I've already left the Thompsons' house, and now I'm not their servant anymore, Diana. If you dare to touch me, believe me..."

With a loud slap, Olivia's words were abruptly cut off. The impact of this slap was much heavier than the one from Serena, which was nothing more than a tickle in comparison. Diana, with her slim figure, had an unexpectedly strong force behind her slap.

Olivia covered her burning face and shook her slightly dizzy head. She trembled as she asked, "What do you want?! I will call the police!"

"Call the police? That's exactly what I want. When that happens, you'll eat prison food for the rest of your life, and die in a cell where no one knows!" Diana's eyes were filled with coldness, and she reached out to grab Olivia's collar, dragging her to an empty alley nearby. With a swift motion, she threw Olivia to the ground. "Now, tell me, where are you going?"
