Chapter 48 - Chapter 48: Settling a Score from a Previous Lifetime

"I...I'm going back to my hometown. Didn't you hear me earlier? Where else can I go?" Olivia's voice trembled with fear. Diana was so terrifying, a stranger who had suddenly turned into a menace!

Diana raised her leg and placed her foot on Olivia's shoulder. She bent down slightly, looking down at her from above. "Oh? Going back home?"

"Yes, my aunt has already bought my plane ticket. Diana, I know I was wrong. I won't show up in front of you again. Please spare me. We had a sisterly bond before, please let me go. I'll miss my flight..." Olivia stuttered as she took out her plane ticket from her pocket, showing the flight time to Diana. It was indeed for tonight.

Diana's gaze flickered slightly as she thought about it. In her previous life, it wasn't just Serena alone who had taken down the Thompson family. Diana had later found out that Serena had secretly collaborated with someone else to control the Thompson family step by step. Who was that person?

Initially, she had some suspicions that Olivia might have been sent to that person's place after being kicked out of the Thompson family by Serena. That way, she could find out who that person was. But now, it turned out that Olivia was really being sent back to her hometown. It seemed that Serena was thoroughly disappointed with this foolish lackey.

"Diana... please let me go. I have already been punished for the dress incident, isn't it enough?" Olivia cautiously asked as she looked at Diana, who didn't say anything. Diana glanced at her and slowly released her foot. Olivia breathed a sigh of relief and was about to stand up when she suddenly noticed Diana pulling out something from behind her and fiddling with it in her hand.

"Di-Diana... what is this?" Olivia's legs began to shake.

"A nunchaku, haven't you seen one before? Haven't you watched Bruce Lee's movies?" Diana gave a faint smile.

"I mean, why did you suddenly take it out?" Olivia asked nervously. "It's just a dress, are you not being too petty?" She wondered if Diana was going to use the staff to hit her. It could be fatal!

"I just want to try how it feels to use it." Diana seemed not to have noticed Olivia's fearful expression. She expertly swung the nunchaku twice in her hand before suddenly striking Olivia's arm with lightning speed.

"Ah!!!" Olivia let out a painful scream, biting her lip until it almost bled. Her hand was broken, no doubt about it!

Before she could even react, Diana hit her face with the nunchaku, knocking out several teeth. Olivia covered her mouth, and blood trickled out from between her fingers. Her eyes were full of fear. Diana had gone crazy! Was she going to kill her for just a dress?!

Olivia trembled as she crawled towards the alley, whimpering and sobbing. She had to get away!

Diana walked over slowly, stepping on Olivia's back with one foot. "Woo..." Olivia whimpered quietly. It was not because of the pain, but because of the fear! She felt that the girl behind her was carrying an inexplicable aura of gloom and hatred, which made her shudder!

"Listen to me..." Diana's fair and delicate hand grabbed Olivia's hair. Olivia was forced to look up, too scared to say a word, tears streaming down her face. "Get out of Cloud City, and never appear in front of me again in this lifetime!" Diana's voice was not loud, but every word was filled with coldness, like a snake wrapped around her neck. Olivia widened her eyes, wanting to nod, but her hair was being grabbed. She could only respond vaguely, "I promise... I won't come back, I will disappear from your world... I won't contact my aunt anymore, please, let me go..."

Upon hearing Olivia's words, the hand grabbing her hair slowly loosened. Olivia quickly crawled away from Diana, trying to put some distance between them. In that moment, she thought she was going to be killed! Olivia wiped her face fiercely, ignoring the pain, and staggered to her feet, dragging her broken arm behind her. Then she ran as fast as she could towards the other end of the alley, not even bothering to take her luggage. She just wanted to get away, as far away as possible, and never come back!

Diana stood behind her, motionless. But her cold eyes followed Olivia's every step. Watching Olivia's panicked figure, Diana's lips curved into a smile that lacked warmth. She was just settling a score from a previous lifetime. In that previous life, although Olivia was detestable, she only took the money and went back to enjoy herself after failing to entangle Andrew. She did not participate in Serena's conspiracy to frame the Thompson family. That's why Diana let her live. However, the person behind Serena, who colluded with her, was still unknown. Were they hiding too deep, or had they not shown up yet? But it didn't matter. Diana had plenty of time to play.

Outside the alley, Colin sat in the back seat, holding a small telescope, constantly staring at the entrance of the alley. "Is Diana okay? She hasn't come out yet."

"She can beat ten Ben Thompson by herself. Besides John, I don't know who else in this world could harm her." Andrew sat in the driver's seat, calmly taking out a bag of potato chips. "Do you want to try? They're cucumber-flavored."

"No, thanks..." Colin continued to focus on his task. Finally, he saw a familiar figure walking out of the alley. Diana was wearing jeans and slowly walking out.

"She's out." Colin relaxed a bit and was about to get out of the car to greet her. But when he raised the telescope, he saw the expression on the girl's face. Diana's face was shrouded in a layer of deep and chilly gloom, making one shudder under the moonlight. Colin's movements came to a halt. What's going on?! Did he see it wrong? How could an innocent and naive girl have such a terrifying expression? It was as if... she had gone through something extraordinary...

After a brief moment of shock, Colin picked up the telescope again. Diana seemed to have spotted them and waved as she walked towards them. Her face was filled with boundless innocence and vitality. Colin felt a little relieved. Maybe he had just been seeing things. Diana quickly walked up to the car, lazily got in, and tossed her nunchucks on the seat.

"How is Olivia?" Andrew asked.

"I just taught her a lesson and let her go. I didn't want to kill her," Diana said, leg up and grabbing some chips from Andrew's hand. Her pretty face was full of innocence.

Andrew turned the car around and casually said, "Diana, treating Olivia like that, the Stewarts will definitely have something to say about it. Don't you care?"

Although Andrew's words were tactful, he was actually testing Diana's attitude. Even though Diana seemed to have changed a lot these days, they still didn't know what she really thought about the Stewart family.

Diana immediately understood Andrew's meaning. She chewed her chips and said slowly, "They're not my real family. If they have a problem with me, then so be it. Andrew, as long as you guys are by my side, it's all good!"

In this life, she must protect her brothers, her father, and her real family!

This statement touched Andrew and Colin's hearts. There was a moment of shock on their faces, followed by a sudden softening. Colin suddenly hugged Diana, burying her small face in his chest. Then, he reached out with his slender fingers and touched Diana's head.

Diana was stunned. "Colin?"

"It's okay, let brother hug you for a while," Colin said slowly. His emotions were too complex, and he temporarily put aside his cold and aloof persona.

Andrew, who was driving, caught sight of this scene, and a hint of disapproval flashed in his beautiful eyes. If he wasn't driving, he would be the one hugging his little sister. Colin was taking advantage of the situation, the despicable man.

After returning home, Diana headed straight to her room and found Ms. Taylor fixing her torn dress. Diana's heart ached at the sight of the damaged dress. "Ms. Taylor, can this dress be mended?" she asked. The dress held a special significance to her, and she wanted it to be repaired as much as possible.

Ms. Taylor noticed Diana's disappointment and smiled reassuringly. "Ms. Diana, don't worry. I just checked, and the torn part of the dress is along the seam. I can fix it and make sure it looks just like before!"

"Really?!" Diana exclaimed with a hint of surprise.

"When have I ever lied to you? You rest for now, and leave the dress to me," Ms. Taylor promised with confidence, putting Diana's worries at ease.

Suddenly, Diana remembered something. "Ms. Taylor, if there are any servants in the house who are not following the rules, you have my permission to punish them. Also, any new servants must be personally selected by you."

"Okay, but Ms. Diana, are you trying to exclude the Stewart family?" Ms. Taylor asked, slightly surprised. The household affairs of the Thompson family had always been taken care of by Serena. Now, Diana's sudden actions made her wonder if there was something else going on.

"If you don't want them here, you can tell my father, and if needed, we can even consider... divorce," Ms. Taylor suggested tentatively.

"I haven't thought that far ahead, Ms. Taylor. You just need to do as I say," Diana said with a sweet smile. "In the future, you'll have to take care of the affairs of the Thompson family more than ever!"

"That's what I'm here for," Ms. Taylor nodded quickly and left the room.

After Ms. Taylor left, Diana slowly lost her smile. Divorce? Ha! If they got a divorce, Serena would take away Thompson family's assets, and that was not an option for Diana. Driving away the Stewart family mother and daughter was already a bargain for them. What she really wanted was for them to have... nothing!
