Chapter 3 - Laura

Owen thought about Laura. Laura was a friend, a very special friend to him.

Owen was sitting at his desk in his apartment in Paris, staring out the window. He admired the view of the city, his eyes lost in the twinkling lights and imposing buildings. He had always loved living in Paris, the city of love and culture.

Suddenly he saw Laura walking past the window. She looked at him and waved at him.

Owen opened the window and asked her what she was doing. Laura tells him she wanted to talk to him and asked if he could come down and join her. Owen agreed and went downstairs to find her.

They went to a small cafe near Laura's apartment and sat down at a table. Laura ordered coffee for herself and tea for Owen. She seemed nervous and unwell comfortable, but she took a deep breath and went for it.

"I wanted to talk to you about something, Owen," she said quietly.

"I know that we we've been friends for a while, but I've had feelings for you for a long time. I

wanted to tell you, although I know it can be hard to hear."

Owen was surprised, but happy to hear that. He had always found Laura attractive, but

he had never dared to confess his feelings to her. He took Laura's hand in his and

said he felt the same for her.

"I'm so glad to hear it," Laura said, a smile forming on her face.

"I thought maybe you wouldn't feel the same way about me, and I didn't want to

not spoil our friendship."

"I'm glad you told me the truth," Owen said.

"I could never have told you I was too shy myself. But now that I know you feel the same, I

don't want to lose you, but..."

However, a few days earlier, Owen had attended a party with friends. It was talking with a group of people when he saw Laura talking to an other man. He felt betrayed and hurt, and he understood that she might not love him.He had kept this information to himself, not knowing what to do.

But now, as he sat across from her, he couldn't ignore what he had.

seen. He had to tell her about it, even if it might ruin everything. He took a deep breath

and told him what he had seen.
